    Nice programmable kit. I have a couple infrared remote control activated circuits on my channel, no programming. Use any remote, press and hold a few seconds. The newer circuit I designed myself.

    That's pretty sweet, there are a lot of possibilities for this and I like that you can use whichever remote you already have. Opens up a lot of prank ideas too. Hmmm... although I do think you should have covered that wireframe lightbulb with some type of outer shell for aesthetics.

    People complain about simple projects, then he makes an awesome one and they still complain cause it's "too hard", i will never get the trolls... this is a cool project and i can think of several uses for this, good job Kip!

    This is a great one. If it's possible to program multiple positions for the servo, I might actually set something like this up to control the dimmer switch lights in my home theater room once I get done with the remodel.

    Dear KIPKAY,
    I am John,a computer science student from the Philippines and I am one of your fans ^_^ . I just want to suggest something that will make things easier,Please do put the list of parts/components on the description ^_^ .
    P.S : I'll make this project this week so I'll take a picture of it so that I can send it to you. I will make a project that will turn on/off our appliances using IR.
    Thank you.

    If you like these kind of projects you should really considering buying an arduino (starter kit) you can do basically do all kipkays projects with it and its pretty cool to play with. (I have it for my electrical engineering study)

    I think it would be easier to use vero/strip board as you can make a clearer diagram of where to place components for the less electrically minded people. It is also less messy imo. Although a more professional kit maker would design a PCB to ship with it.

      Well, why wouldn't they? It's a pretty neat thing if you know how to utilize it properly, and you can get all of those parts at an electronics shop for less than $2. And, if you actually visit the electronics shop, you'll see plenty of things you'll just want to have. And when you'll have them, you'll want to learn electronics. And if you know electronics, there's a chance you'll want to know how to program things too. And then you'll create an evil artificial intelligence that you'll inject into your army of killer robots to wipe out life from our whole planet just because you can. Isn't that awesome? :D

    • @Valtra103
      @Valtra103 9 років тому

      Awesome (that part about wiping whole planet) But how to get a servo for under $2 ?

    • @LordDragox412
      @LordDragox412 9 років тому

      Valtra103
      You can get a low-power micro servo from an electronics shop for around $1.50. It will do the job. You don't need a $5 micro servo for hobbyists that has medium/high power, or a $20 one used in more serious projects that require the most possible power in the smallest size possible. Also, beware of internet shops, they'll sell you the $20 servo for over $50 because it's a "hobbyist" grade, which usually total bs >:P

    • @Valtra103
      @Valtra103 9 років тому +1

      LordDragox412
      Thanks. That "hobby grade" is making everything crazy expensive. Like small rubber O rings for 5$... But i don't have any shops near me tht would sell non hobby servos
