Hello everybody, I downloaded, print on cardboard and cut the pattern. For the top stitching technique I did a bit of research and found the mechanical piece "baby lock belt loop binder" that you can fix on your regular sewing machine. And you can buy two double needles (approx. 2$) for this technique, makes it easier. The tutorial is easy and once you understood how to fix every parts, you'll be comfortable with doing a few caps. You can find a decent sewing machine that won't kill your wallet on OfferUp or hit up some family member that has it collecting dust they'll be glad to give it to you get busy start making your masterpieces and making that money I'm right with you I'm hyped up to start this myself somebody gave me a sewing machine just bug them they'll give it to you
Does anyone have some tips and tricks to doing the sweatband? the last one I did took me hours to get it on right. There has to be a easier way. I want to make another hat but I am dreading having to deal with the sweatband part. Also your sizing tape (the white strip) that makes the hat look better, is not on your stores web page. I looked everywhere. Where can I buy it?
You would adjust the seam allowance all the way around. Be careful because the is the exact size camp cap you would find in the stores when sewn correctly. Adjusting these seam allowances will make drastic changes to the size. Also, take into consideration the fabric you are using. This can throw off the size as well. I would highly recommend making a few with different fabrics and see what works best for you. Good luck with your caps and thanks for watching!

How do you get your double needle to not criss-cross? And what specific machines? Especially the one that you use to sew through the plastic brim. Thanks.
They are industrial machines, the one used for the brims is a yamata single needle straight stitch. I recommend using a walking foot single needle for the brims. You can search industrial sewing machines on Craigslist. That should be a good place to start. The crossing does not occur because the machine has two separate needles with individual bobbins. This prevents the stitch paths from crossing.
It'sTotallyNotTaylor Hi I can tell you that doing that would make the hat larger. Also once you trace it onto your fabric, if you cut on the outside of your chalk line would give you a little more room too. I would also suggest that you find some scrap fabric to test that method out on first before you cut into your good fabric that you want to make your hat from. Good luck getting it to your size.
This is a one size fits all adjustable cap pattern. We do offer a toddler size but that might be to small. I recommend taking in the seam allowances to shrink down the over all size. I think it would would out perfect for you. I have done this in the past on a custom build and it worked great. Hopefully this helps! :)

+Justanother fancy screenname that is bias tape. You can buy it precut or cut it out of a piece of fabric on the bias. We cut ours out light weight twill.

What is that foot called, used for covering the seems with a bias strip? Can you use a "regular" bias binding foot for the same process, the one you used to finish the edges.. (The one that feeds the bias from the side instead of the front)

+Azu Odufu Soft Twill cut on the bias to make strips. These Strips will run through your folder.

Yes, you can use a regular one to finish the back edge. We used a double fold bias tape attachment.

Any thicker plastic will work. You will want to do a sewing test before you cut to many out :)
