I used to stand on my local M6 footbridge as a kid and wait for a 143M to come past, that is what got me into driving a truck. That was some 40+ years ago and here I am still doing it.

Back in the day I had a bang in my scania didn't have the socket to get the bumper off guy gave me his snap on socket and told me to pop it next time I was passing considering I'm from newcastle I've met very few genuine people in my life guy is one of them from the very 1st second you meet him you would give him you're mortgage if he asked for it and I've only spoke to the bloke for about once.

I really love how knowledgeable and enthusiastic Guy is, especially about the trucks which he must never give up. I don't think he ever will though. Mick & Guy seem to have a good working relationship and it's very flexible too. Mick's a good 'un, I reckon they need each other.
I can understand Guy having no TV. Nothing but rubbish on unless I'm told Guy will be on, I'm just googling random things like finding the pic of Dante's Daughter at RAF Kirmo. If I'm told something will be on tv, I just do my best to find it on the internet.
Guy is my hero, I think I've around 200 photos with another 45 being posted bk to me yesterday from Free Prints app. Every time I get enough, I send them off to be printed and I've commissioned a graphite artwork too.
I adore many things about Guy and even understand ASD and probably knew long before he did. I used to drive my whole family up the wall saying 'I'm sure he has it', 'I'm certain he is'. Pleasant to feel fully understanding now, thanks to Guy for that brave reveal.
Guys book is the only one I've been gutted to finish and I read it double quick as I got it as an iBook so I had it on both my iPad and iPhone. The best book I ever read. Better than a Barry Sheene one but idk if it was 'official'. At least Guys comes from the words of the man himself.
    Gena xxxx

Ha... sharpening drills! As an apprentice this was one of the 1st things I learnt back in the 80s when apprenticeships were real and not just a fast track to higher positions. Drill sharpening, drill drift, hacksaw frame, vertical mill collet, learning how to machine brass castings.... etc, etc... lost arts nearly

You can buy alloy backing plates to stop the alloys from seizing to the hub face only problem is getting that plate of in the future.
I sat for over 30 minutes with a hammer and chisel removing a alloy backing plate the other week bloody nightmare but I have to say it’s a handy thing to fit if your running alloys instead of steel wheels... since buying backing plates for my show truck I’ve never had to deal with a seized wheel yet.
guy if you ever reads this comment you should give them ago I got mines from a guy down at John deer for a few Bob he bought them for his scania and never used them, couldn’t tell you where he bought them but I’m sure you’ll know someone that’ll know someone :)

I always liked Scanias but I liked my Renault Premium for space for my kids in schl hols when I used to be shunting locally at the port.... Not allowed now tho, also I'm now disabled so pretty stuffed.
My Dad and my ex were/are truckers. My dad on RH Freight in Notts, firstly he had a 51 plate Renault Magnum and took me and 2 of my lads from Sutton Bridge to Wisbech Roadways, then my dad got a Scania, no idea what model because he called it the nut nipper. Apparently not much comfort for well hung men due to the position of the seat to the pedals. I drove my exes for a day n got lousy backache. My ex now drives a DAF XF, an ex Benton Brothers truck outta Boston, Lincs
