Thanks Naveen for detailed explanation of Appium architecture. As you right said most of blogs on internet are having old architecture. Over the year Appium have expanded to support multiple devices which many are not using. Explanation for supporting mac apps, windows app are very helpful. So far I have used Appium to automate iOS and android app but looking forward to try mac and windows apps. Thanks for sharing!

Note:
Based on my experience for Android we do not need to pass desCap:"Uiautomator2", its optional. logically we do not have a different intermediate like iOS, so its not mandatory to use.

Question: At 18.28 min you say that UI Automator 1 is used for old version of Android devices. What
version is considered as old? (like you said ios < 9.3 is old version)

Hi naveen sir i have some few doubts regarding the drivers what you have explained in the session:
1.what is the specality of UI automator 2 compared to UI automator 1(can you differentiate why you want to specifically ui automator 2 for Android latest devices)
2.In desired capabailities which web driver need to use we are passing for that device based on what you have provided web driver it will decide to use that webdriver or is there any chance based on android version or ios version can appium get to know which web driver need to use based on device version.
3.can you please prepare a session on what is native apps,hybrid apps,and web based apps and how it will differentaite and with real time examples
4.Why we are using bootstrap file to communicate with device eventhough we are having ui automator or uiautomation.

Hi Naveen really a good one .. detailed explanation for Android and iOS architecture for appium . I have one question related to android SDK version 4 and below. Does appium talks to selendroid or appium stopped supporting 4 and below android SDK .. tried recently with Android emulator with kit kat version . Set the automation as selendroid but it was failing for me ..I have raised the issue but still didnt got any response ..
I know most of the people are updating to latest Android or iOS versions .. but still curious to know.

One thing you forgot to add UIAutomator 2 module doesn't support below Android 5.0 (API Level 20). Below android 5.0 UIAutomator 1 'll work
Windows with Android we can automate Android Mobile App we can automate.
Same Windows with Ios can we automate iOS Apps, In the latest Appium?
