    I built one of the metal sheds and swore to myself I would never do that again.. took me over 15 hours and I am handy. This seems about the same level of work... I was thinking about this project. But I will just buy a prefab for 1500-2000. Thank you for sharing.

    Just put it together.. took me a few days. A few remarks. 1.) rubber hammer helped a ton .. pounded the floor together .. all those little slots have to be clicked in .. very hard without power. 2.) roof was a pain but again slid them pounded them in. 3.) I built a paver foundation which seemed to help with leveling it. 4.). Mine came with 2 RCL panels with flange instead of one without. Home Depot was good about replacing the part although I had to drive around Phoenix to do so. So count all parts prior to build! Live and learn. Ha. Other than that I’ll see if it survives the summer heat here. Looks great in my backyard though. I’d buy it again for the price for sure. Your video helped me prepare and was on point. so thanks a lot!

      How the hell are people getting the right/left floor pieces to go together? It's so damn bendy they just won't click.

    Just built mine up too. But I made a beefier wooden foundation as my yard occasionally floods when it rains hard. I enjoy the stronghold shed and agree it took long to build it up and finish the roof. Finished about 10pm at night. And hung my 3000 lumen work light from a tree for roof assembly visibility. Inside does stay dry as a whistle. The black flat Phillip's head screws are odd though for the floor mounting. Some bit into the wood, others just free spin in place. I have 5/8 CDX plywood subfloors, on 2x4 studs with 16" on center. Hope that helps someone.

    I watched the video. Very well explained. I have one of these sheds myself and I'm having trouble getting the floor put together. I am on pavers. The two FL and FR pieces fit together well but the the two CF pieces are not fully latching together. I can get three out of the four clips to latch and sometimes only two out of four clips latch. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong because I saw you put yours together by yourself. The other challenge with the floor is once it feels like the two CF pieces are together, then as instructed I hold at a 45 degree angle but can't get the whole assembly to slide in the other two halves. When I try to do one side; the other side moves and becomes crooked. My CF pieces bend easy and I think they shouldn't bend that easily. They have been out in the direct sun so not sure if the heat caused the parts to warp. I watched how you were working with the center pieces but it was so fast it was hard to catch it all. What is the trick in getting the center pieces together so that all four clips latch; then the trick in sliding the whole panel into the other pieces? Please help. Thank you.

    Bought the 8 x 10 shed and put it on a wooded base (4x4 beams 2x4 cross braces and 3/4 HD os flooring plywood sitting on blocks all level. Three of us installed all the parts and at the very end the doors won't line up..I checked the base and it's still level. We built the doors and hung them to test and all was good. We installed the roof panels which was easy with the soapy water....Now the doors won't align. I am open to someone who has had this problem to give a suggestion, not that one, I already bought it.

    Just finished one of these had to clean out holes that still and plastic in them the corner joints and roof was a pain in the ass to clip to the sun roof. Save your money and buy the craftsman shed it is made with better and thicker resin plus the hinges, and handles are steel not plastic and way way easier assembly. Great video by the way.

    I haven't had help yet assembling the floor so I went ahead and assembled the roof frame. From the looks of yours the roof frame is assembled corretly but the skylight does not line up with the roof braces. It seems like the middle pieces putting the two roof frames together are longer than the skylight gaps. I measured the cross roof pieces and they appear to be all the same length so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong on this step. Please help if you can. Thank you.

      Everybody has their own reasons for buying and using a shed like this but for me, the siding was rotting off the old wooden shed I have in the backyard and it would cost the same amount of money in materials cause I would have to re shingle the roof of it as well but the labor would be time consuming as well. Couldn't hire a contractor to fix my wooden shed cause it would cost $1000 or more on a 8 X 10 shed. Like I said too, the wood and materials are super expensive right now cause of the Pandemic so I'm doing a 7 X 7 Suncast shed and tearing down the old shed. I plan on moving in about 3 years anyways so the next homeowners can buy a $2,000 shed if they want to. I don't have that kind of cash...

    I actually just finished putting my together. I did everything by myself but I can tell you it would have been nice to get some help. The hardest thing to put together was the roof but It is doable by a single person. It was fun and frustrating at the same time. Now, I am trying to anchor my shed down and I will be using a hammer drill and will use 5/8 by 6 sleeve anchor to do so. I will figure something out for the roof later.

  • @Jwebbplayz
    @Jwebbplayz 4 роки тому

    3/4 inch crushed limestone is the correct rock to use. Spread the rock out 11x9 feet and 4 to 5 inches thick. build the platform they recommend in the Manuel or pour concrete. MOST IMPORTANT WD40 the damn roof rails... spray that whole track and keep attempting to jam/ click in the roof panels with more pressure each time. You won’t break them. My experience was a bitch with this shed. 26 of my final caps at the end were completely un-punched... I was out there with a razor knife for 2 hours cutting each one.

  • @StinkyBlack1
    @StinkyBlack1 7 років тому +2

    I don't know. I feel like with a similar investment in lumber, I could build a similar shed that would last decades. I'm sure these plastic sheds have improved a lot in the last twenty years, but I had one of these about 20 years ago, and it seemed to get very saggy after a couple years in Michigan summer. It's ok to stuff a snowblower in, but not a feasible work shed imo.

    • @drewtalks
      @drewtalks  7 років тому +2

      Euro Dollars good points they have inproved a lot abd if you see it has a pretty solid metal frame that reinforces all the plastic. As the wood maybe cheaper in cost but harder for a newbie to construct
