- Many years ago, a young woman named Min Hui fell for a young man named Xin Qi. They dreamed of spending the rest of their lives together and had even planned to marry. This part hits hard. Min Hui has been a very strong single mom. Not only she needed to provide for Quanquan, but she received abuse and shame because of having a fatherless child. She had to ignore it. When Xin Qi came back, she finally was able to be vulnerable, as herself, and as a woman. Xin Qi gave her a safe space and protection. How horrible he must have felt when hearing about the cocktail party story, the length she had to go through to save their child.
