Most athletes in the highest level of any sport are on steroids. From biking to BJJ.
Yup. I'd say all the top athletes of any sport are using peds
@@nanashiryuu5630 this often sounds like cope of why they're so much better then normies like us.... lots of sports like cycling have entire never ending tests and random too, plus the real beasts in europe fleets of journalists i,e l'équipe ( in french cycling they bust everyone getting gossip, sinking cheaters and making money all in one,,, its their deepest passion lol ) interviewing everyone you ever met - all close friends family spying w/e it takes one single enemy ...
i like how awkward this is.....cause 3 people in that room ARE JUICED TO THE GILLS
💯
I would say Natty Rod would be the only one - not sure Gordon Ryan's brother and Craig are on gear (but I wouldn't discard them having tried or used it before)
It’s funny cause none of them are on steroids
@@conormcqregor4393lol so cute😂
Even Lex is probably juiced
Thats so awesome B-Team on Lex, the crossover I didn't know I needed. That said, yes, gear is all over BJJ even down to the local competitions, if there's money on the line and testing is relaxed or nonexistent gear will be around. And the recovery aspect, is really overlooked, it's not all about the strength.
I took test and I was shocked at how great I felt. No aches or soreness.... pretty much felt like I was 18 again. the recovery is the biggest draw I'm my opinion
Recovery is how you gain strength.
Money doesn't even have to be on the line
Is this a joke? Whats more important to strength gains than recovery? What nonsense.
Nick didn’t answer the question if he was on steroids.
Straight away started talking about Gordon.
natty rod is one of the cleanest people in game. do your own research
@@mrbodycatcerlol? Dudes got a turtle ghut
@@jameswilson9578 Abs are genetic, that's just how his are. watch the more plates more dates vid. he responded to gordan's callout and went to get tested the very next day.
Craig is so drenched in irony,I love it
Bahaha seriously!
I love how often Lex just tosses out bomb questions and then shakes his head as he realizes how loaded everything he's discussing is. Kudos to these guys for answering honestly, sincerely and with good humor. PED usage remains an important issue to shed light on.
As far as the topic - I weightlift and have considered PED's, but decided against it. But my take is it should be a choice made available via informed consent and under the management of healthcare professional. Yes, it absolutely is a tradeoff with very real health risks, but so much in life is. Look at the risks Alex Honnold takes every time he free climbs, and yet (generally) people admire him/don't call him stupid or reckless. There is mounting evidence that very long-distance running, like regularly doing marathons, has serious cardiovascular risks (although more research is needed to nail down how much) and there's no outrage there that I know of. There are issues surrounding PED's with peer pressure, body dysmorphia and so on, but that's hardly unique to using gear or sports and is more of a "general societal attitude to mental health and image" problem. In the end, I feel that informed consent makes taking gear allowable, if not necessarily admirable. Transparency helps keep people on the same playing field in a sport, and destigmatizing use will likely lead to better education and healthcare support.
People also have to realize the health risks are usually not too high for someone on just a TRT dose or doubled like a normal beginner cycle the rewards In my opinion far out weigh the risk. You see professional body builders doing 10-20x the dose of TRT, stacked with a bunch of other steroids. On top of that they’re also doing HGH and sometimes insulin and a long list of other substances along with it. That’s when it’s very dangerous and where the stigma comes from.
Nicky Rod looking uncomfortable here. He's juiced AF!
"Our roided up guy, beat your roided up guy", damn I wish Bill Burr would just randomly hop into other podcasts and drop a sentence or two.
#LanceArmstrong @barfyman362
Bill Burr ftw
It took me a while to see that the the guy's arms were propped up by his leg, rather than his crazy muscles preventing him from lowering them!
Good lord I hope you don't drive. If so people are in serious danger
@@mikeybronny6579 I still wouldn't run him down, regardless of what's holding his arms up
You ever watched the open division at a jiu jitsu tournament?? Very rarely is it won by the biggest competitor 🤷♂️ strength plays a huge roll but technique will always be king.
@@mikesheehan5946 it's the fact you can barely see what's in front of you or what's on screen. You blind af if that's what you think
@@mikeybronny6579 if my tiny phone screen was my only viewport for what's on the roads I definitely wouldn't drive. I'd be almost blind!
I train everyday at 34 years old and beyond a doubt most of the top players are on the gear.
It is what it is just admit it. Steriods don't make you a black belt lmao. You still need put in that work. They using the gear to recover because it takes like 3 days to fully recover from going ham.
Nicky rods facial expressions through this interview looks he’s going to jail!! 😜😂
Lex, you are a prophet. Truth seeking and the truth you share is very special. Thank you.
I don’t remember exactly how this was told, but I’ll give it a shot. “Technique maximize your strengths.” So to me the quote is trying to convey is that strength is most important out if the two but with technical applications it dramatically increases. If strength wasn’t the most important, there wouldn’t be weight classes.
Really like the way you put this.
It's true. I'm only a blue belt but I can destroy some purple belts that are 15 and weak lmao. They're technique is great but they 110 pound kids. Strength is important to a degree
i always say it amplyfies your technique. speaking in rpg stats something like (technique)0.1x10 (strength)=1(proficiency in fighting) but if hes moving up from 0.1 to 0.6 in technique he doesnt come out with 1.6 but rather 6 thus making him wayyy harder to deal with.
like if someone is a lot stronger than me but literally doesnt know shit about grappling its fairly easy to catch him with something because he just doesnt know shit and runs into any submission but if he knows just a little bit about how to keep his arms to himself and how not to get pinned even on a beginners level its already sooo much harder to keep him under control.
@@mcdick1621 If your opponent plays your game that probably works. But if the larger guy gets in mount and just starts choking you out with his hands it’s over.
If someone’s using their hands to choke u from mount they don’t know what they’re doing and would be easy to bridge them off
Yes in almost all sports
Reminds me about ADCC champ Orlando Sanchez dying recently by a heart attack. I sweat dude was juiced to the gills. Wasn’t even 50 I don’t think.
He was a fat drug addict, plus steroids.
Gordon’s physique is wayyyy more enhanced than Nick Rod. Not saying Nick is natty or anything but he definitely COULD be, whereas Gordon at 20 was like a skinny/lanky guy and now is 230 and sub 10% body fat
But that really means nothing. One person taking 200mg per Week of test could gain 5lbs in 10 weeks and another could gain 15lbs with same training.
It's all genetics.
Nick's been on the juice for years. You don't get to be huge, have massive strength, incredible stamina, and a meathead intelligence when it comes to diet, training, sleep, and recovery. It's not gEneTicS, it's gear, same as volk
Physique can be misleading. Everyone respond differently to PEDs. When I am on (i only use test and deca, one cycle i used equipoise and i ended it early because it really didnt agree with me and messed up my hormones), my physique doesn't change a whole lot, but my physical strength is like a totally different person. Also depends which PED the athlete is taking. Halotestin is the most potent strength boosting PED but does almost nothing for physique. Trenbelone is #2 for strength increase but also makes drastic improvements to physique and kills your cardio. Many different factors to consider, but you definitely can't tell who is on and who isn't unless you're talking about extremely outliers- like for example bodybuilder Jay Cutler was undeniably on steroids.
Taking HGH is risking dying from an enlarged heart or perforated gut.
@@nile7999 its also genetics, regardless of epigenetics, there will be genetic factors and mutations that matter... We see this clearly in cigarette smokers.. its why some people never get lung cancer while others do, which shows how anecdotes can be misleading (my grana smoke for 90 years blah blah blah)
You can strain your immune system and genetic factors can break down, or they can compensate where another sees failure..
It is very hard to tell, but generally it takes alot of time to develop into a body that could be confused easily with a roider..
It really is a witch hunt, but one that we can generalize at least..
Hell genetics can even make you roid out naturally, of course there are trade offs and most people who suffer from hyper hormonal conditions have complications..
I think the witch hunt should be done in a concise and emotionless way,
None of this emotional yelling and screaming or strongly *felt* stuff about how you "know people are on steroids".
Nicky Ryan’s answer was 💯
Craig Jones is like Aussie Chris Destefano
YES
Yes
I recall a survey being done with elite athletes - possibly Olympians - and most of not all said that they would exchange 10 years of their life for a gold medal now.
No one chasing immediate glory and gratification regrets it until they actually live long enough to see the disease and disabilities that follow years down the road. Famous last words: It won't happen to me. Or, I'll worry about it when the time comes.
It's been like 4 different parts from this podcast and I'm still waiting for this smiling dude in white cap to finally say something.
Nick Great At Gear Rodriguez
The candle that burns twice as bright lasts half as long
3:56 made my day
I think lex does not understand what craig is saying here.
he's like, maybe the glory doesn't last, and the trophies and memories of how you outwrestled a bunch of other doped up sweaty men aren't what lex maybe thinks it is.
mabye health is something that old people learn the value of...
I think it all depends on the specific athletes mentality. You have the athletes who as corny as it sounds, are willing to die to be the best. Then you have others like Craig and 90% of most athletes who want to be the best but wouldn't go that far necessarily. I personally am part of Craig's mindset where it ain't worth it you only live once.
It's really not that difficult to use PEDS in a way that won't absolutely wreck Ur health. Pretty simple stuff. Hire a good coach. Done
Yes, next subject
I love how lex stirs the pot ever so slightly 😂
With a dewalt🤣🤣
Kurt angle just talked about his regret of using them during his Olympic and WWE reign
You sir Lex are more and more and better than JRE. I like this relaxed funny version of you
Yes.
Mikey is clean he just eats pizza
You’re only fooling yourself
Yes they are all.
Only viewers who never practice sport at a decent level believes athletes are clean.
Even less now that there are so much money involved.
Does Ryan and Nicky still talk?
Watch Nickyrods eyes for the 1st minute,
Dudes more nervous then a priest in a playground.
Nicky knows what’s up 😂
YES THEY ARE

Simply put, if it is allowed/not banned within that ruleset or governing body then it isn't cheating. If it is banned and not allowed then it is cheating. Just like how in Nevada for MMA, you can knee a grounded opponent or whatever the rule is but in other places you're not allowed. Gordon juicing for ADCC competitions isn't cheating because under that governing body it is allowed, no matter what your personal opinion or stance is on gear usage.
It's all about recovery. So I hear. It's like having a cure for hangovers except for muscle fatigue the 2nd or 3rd day after a massive match/workout...Or just to get huge and look good naked.
both🤣
My old ma nwas a bodybuilder and decided to try a cycle. He described it as this.
Normally if you go 100% in the gym, the next day you'll be sore. With steroids, not only are you not sore the next day. But for his second workout of the day, he felt like he was 80% back.
The recovery is insane and that's the key thing about it.
So you can work out more often and the muscles repair more easily. Obviously there are some other benefits but these are the main ones.
@@MarkWalmsley correct, people take steroids and don’t do anything and wonder why they’re fat, steroids doesn’t = free muscles, it just means if 2 people work out everyday, the one on steroids will grow a lot bigger, a lot faster.
…I didn’t meant to respond to you directly, like you didn’t know, more so to anyone else who reads this who doesn’t know how steroids work.
Another misconception is Viagra, it helps blood flow, it doesn’t turn Men into a horny beast with a raging hard on, if you’re not attracted to the person, Viagra isn’t going to give you a magic erection, it just helps the blood flow Incase some horny ass dude has bad blood flow lol.
Goldman's dilemma
Look at that they did a study with elite athlets and 50% would take something that would make them champion even if they died within 5 years after
Pretty interesting
Hardly.
"This just in- ego based people use their ego instead of logic and reason".. cmon.. no surprises there.
Its addiction.. just study the mesolimbic system..
I could create you a study of heroin champions that would use, even if they were going to die in five years..
When we numb the part of the braon that encodes naturally for empathy, we can put ourselves into compromised positions, generally this is seen mechanistically as inflammation in the prefrontal cortex, and has alot to do with hormone regulation...
The brain is predictable in these scenarios and the mundanity of how neurochemicals from hormone deregulating substances (saturated fat, herion, cocaine etc), or sex, or exercise, all have a rather boring basis..
Its just cognitive bias.
nicky rod didnt want to say anything😂
Yes. And so are most of the jacked and in shape people walking around / at the local gym
The king of juice side by side with Lex lol
Saying a question is stupid before asking it, doesn't make it any less stupid...
This reminds me of conversations I had with an old training buddy who denied steroid use and claimed it was pointless outside of competition. Fast forward 2 years and he's told to stop training by his doctor due to heart issues caused by steroids. Juicers always deny juicing or make jokes about it until Darwin comes knocking.
When he first mentioned the 40 year old fighter looking at his gold medals on his deathbed, I got the impression he was going to say it WAS worth it. Until Lex pressed him. Am I alone?
I've heard Teddy Atlas say he's known many fighters who were prepared to sacrifice everything, including their lives, to hold that belt. Just saying.
Thats how I took it too.
No, you could tell by his phrasing that its really just an empty achievement.. especially since you cheated to get there
The roids rob from the glory, id respect a good ju jitsu player thats natty that loses to someone slightly less skilled, but hormonally enhanced.. because of the skill, not the arbitrary win.
Integrity and consistency are important to me, i cant just ignore the journey like some people choose to do, for better or worse.
they are all in steroids 😂
Gordon already admitted it 😅
it is not illegal in their league though
Lex can hardly keep up with Craigs' sarcasm. @2:48 , Aussie humor at it most cutting. Still, Craig should not give up on the glory of winning yet. Has he given up on it , with Gordon Ryan winning everything.
The sad Truth is most athletes across most sports are on some type of performance enhance drugs as a person who competed clean it just always piss me off I'm out there working so hard and other people are taking shortcuts..but it's true
Roids should be banned in bjj, its redicolous that they are allowed. Suddenly many good grapplers would be average
"Yes. Don't forget to like and subscribe"
"All men die, but only few truly live" that goes hard
No one talks about cognitive advantages too anabolic it’s going to get your brain to fire sharper too
Hell no a gold metal worth 5 years of your life we already lose a third to sleep
Roids are starkly different from Testosterone. Lex should know this, and Craig should have pointed this out.
Huh? the people who do "roids" - tend to inject synthetic testosterone. Bioidentical and/or analogous molecules to testosterone. In other words "roids" ARE testosterone. In a vial.
Testosterone IS a steroid.
Even i know it's called gear... and the smartest guy in every room doesn't???
Ster…oids…??? 😮
Kinda annoying when it feels like Lex won't let people hold their own opinion
It's roids or Grease no inbetween
Craig's shoulders look juiced.
Just by his opening statement I knew he was on steroids too...
Who?
You can’t train at the ridiculously high level technique wise and have the high level cardio needed to compete at the top level, your body just won’t recover in time… especially after you turn 30!! it’s impossible…!!! Let everyone take steroids
"youd think i do a little research before this" 😂 lex is so likable... Too bad he isnt vegan.
6:24 If muscles doesn't matter in jiu-jitsu then women could compete with men in jiu-jitsu.
They'll look back at this in the future and be embarrassed. It's cheating, just cause everyone does it doesn't make it right. The sport is now embarrassing.
Every sport is embarrassing, its literally an opioid for the masses, its all frivolous and roids simply arent necessary, its the competition that makes us grow as a species, not the winning.
What's the bikers name that won a few tours to France 6mins in, come on. You can do better on the questions.. you should do a rated r version of this cast. Where all the educated people can chill and learn something from these men
Nate Diaz was right. "Everyone is on steroids" Because even figure skaters and chess grand masters are on steroids. It would be super easy to catch all steroid users but since almost nobody gets popped, you have no choice but to assume the whole anti-doping industry exists just so normal people in it have a job and the executives get rich.
Its been that way since like the 30s or 40s, it just got way popular in the 80s
Yes. Next question
And while the weak grapple. The powerful people continue to rule the world and joyfully allow the cauliflower ears to sprout across the globe .
Lex got some cauli ear what
Why does it feel like nicky rod was the reason dds broke up. He seems like he has a chip on his shoulder and being with a guy like Gordon everyday seems like trouble.
do you not hear arrogance when Gordon talks? Lol the dude drives a nice ass Toyota Corolla and says it’s a “shitty car.” It was almost like he wanted us to think he’s just fkn wealthy and just driving every expensive car out right now.
@@SomeAftermath that's why I said an alpha like nicky rod can't be around another alpha . Craig would just ignore him and his little brother probably already used to him
I stopped reading once you wrote “alpha”
That was lame as hell.
@@SomeAftermath keep being trash soy boy
Keep being a coward behind a picture less profile, scaredy they/them.
how come people always jump to physique in order to determine wether or not someone is juicing.
like there are peds that do nothing more than giving you better cardio because your blood transports more oxygen to the cells.
you literally look the same.
Like when my ex wife asked me if I thought my friends cheated on their wives. Awkward...
so nicky rod knows you dont have to be as disciplined with diet and sleep on steroids. something i've never heard or known. how does he know that?
It’s basic knowledge that you can achieve pretty good results on steroids without optimum sleep, training and nutrition.
@@MrAlan287 it's not basic knowledge to people who don't take steroids
@@JASNSOUNDS i’m not on steroids and i know a lot more about steroids than this, plus these guys don’t deny steroid use so it’s obvious they had first hand experience.
It’s a shame…..but yes.
Duh
Such nihilism. Priorities completely out of whack.
Not steroids -> Performance enhancing drugs
Boxers looked different in the 70s and then Tyson with a 30 y o body at 20.
They are all cheats.
Dude do your research, according to teddy atlas, mike was 190lbs at 13 he was genetic freak at the least, of course there's some fighters who have taken it in the 90 , such as Tommy Morrison etc, but I highly doubt Muhammad Ali was on any peds.
Tyson was natty he looked like that at 12
PEDS are amazing 🙏
If course. They all plan their stacks and routines so they are clean when they have to be . The rest of the time they are going as hard as possible and using every edge they can.
But 100% all pro athletes coming out of russias are using the most. Every athlete that comes out of Russia is stage sponsored . This is 100% known, that’s one of the reasons why Russia isn’t in the olympics anymore
Hahaha, yeah, and it’s well known that USA athletes don’t use steroids 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Difference is, the rest of the world we will test and for USA athletes we will trust their “word” that they don’t use or need that type of stuff 🤣🤣🤣. Hilarious
Take just testing in UFC, you have Jiří Procházka that was tested 51 time just in 2022, how many times did Jon Jones get tested?
Didn’t Justin Gatlin get caught twice for steroids? What about Lens? But noooo Russian athletes are all on juice and American aren’t 🤣🤣🤣.
Laughable. . .
Saying Russian athletes are “state sponsored” seems to just imply that you’re ignorant that russia is a communist country..
everything… is state sponsored in Russia.
Ummm Russia isnt banned from the Olympics.
It's funny that people on this side of the world think Russians are cheating but not us. And I'm sure they think the same.
Reality is, everyone is cheating. Russia seemed to have a deeper, more sophisticated system.
Don't be fooled, everyone is cheating.
The guy with the white cap nailed it. Yes the increase muscle mass can be a HUGE advantage but one if the not main advantage is recovery. Imagine being able to put 50-100% more reps in because of unnatural recovery? Steroids is cheating regardless of if they test or not.
Marion Jones who was the golden girl of team USA athletics and the official anti ped spokeswoman said after being caught that juicing is the only way to make the 1% I believe her 😜
lex passing judgment is kinda strange
Lex is silly lol
Is Craig natural?
There are so many drawbacks to steroids that if athletes choose to use it then there should not be any negative repercussions
So much about life is cheating, not just steroids. Later in life so many have deemed the medals, awards and whatever ,worthless.
Dude dating Gabby Garcia must be in to dudes lol. She's got more testosterone than he does.
End drug tests just let athletes do what they wnat to their own bodies.
Lex is so out of his element here, it's not very interesting to watch.

Well Lex is BJJ black belt, he may not take steroids but he knows his shit about Brazilian Juijitsu.

any place where there is money or national pride is there are folks juicing anywhere where testing goes on folks are getting caught it's a naive question.
