Chanel at the bins?!! Whoa. I recently found a Christian Dior wool trench coat at my small, hometown goodwill for $8. And in my size! I was on FaceTime with my bestie when I noticed the tag. DROPPED my phone and was shaking so hard I couldn't pick it up. She was so bummed it was my size and not hers. Im not great at math, but an $8 Christian Dior Coat is FREE. PERIOD lol Love your necklace BTW
That is literally free. Borderline robbery 🤣🤣🤣 Your reaction was completely appropriate! The necklace is from Melinda Maria - I've got a crazy sensitive neck, and this is super, super comfy and doesn't catch my hair ( there's a reason you only see like 2 different necklaces on me...most necklaces drive me NUTS!)
I’m also in SoCal a couple of weeks ago I found what to appear to be long-John’s with an opening in the front or loungewear type pants 🤷🏻♀️. The brand is Gobi and they are 100% cashmere in great condition. Need to do some research. 😄
Woah! Just looked them up! They look GORGEOUS! Great find! Hopefully it pulls you a good price! If they've got the fly, make sure you use Thermals and Base Layers as keywords to pull in the ski crowd...
Ahhhh! I was familliar with Calypso St. Barths, but not the founder... it makes perfect sense that she's female - the pieces are gorgeous and just...SO breezy!
I’m so happy for you!!!! What a killer score. I once found a delvaux bag that I sold for $1,200 and a vintage Gucci bag for $6 on Black Friday last year that I kept. Congrats again!!
Well, this is the motivation I needed to go BACK to the bins! Wowza! This is def a once in a lifetime moment and I’m always amazed at what people discard. A few months back I found a vintage coach at a resale shop for $70 which I thought was high. I went home and saw one had just sold on the coach website for $700. I ran back the next day and snagged it!
The Chanel!! Bravo!! Christiane Celle is a female designer. Used to see a lot of press (think Harper's Bazaar/Vogue) in the Y2K era. There was also a cute store Calypso with her name in Nolita that was curated gorgeously.
RIGHT?!?!?! I don't know why I automatically assumed it was a guy! I was familliar with Calypso St. Barths, but wasn't sure if it was the same thing. Resortwear perfection!!
I love watching all of your hauls! I always learn SO much about the intricacies of high quality garments and the names of those intricate details. I had also never heard the keyword hygge, and I'm going to start using it. Thank you SO much for all the value you're sharing with the resale world. I would LOVE to see a video about your all-time bucket list brands. ❤
That's one of those words that I mispronounced so, SO badly as I had only seen it in writing... 🤣🤣🤣 I'm so happy these can be of help! I'm always learning as well, so always happy to share the knowledge - when we all do better, we ALL do better!!!
It's so fun to find luxury brand items, or even high end items. I found a metallic Longchamp happy totefor $3, a Celine wool sweater for $3.50, Gucci high top monogram sneakers for $7. Happy dance🎉 🎉
WOW! Those are some crazy finds! I've yet to find anything Celine (one of my dream brands...) You've always got to wonder how those pieces land in the thrift!
Holy Grail!!!! So happy for you. Absolutely love your channel. Have you considered a video showing your whole process? After the haul thru ready to ship.
@JMSquaredVintage we watch with fascination of you taping up packages to ship, LOL we are easily entertained. Sometimes it is seeing little things that we can add to our own process. Thanks for time and effort you put into your voideos
Long video, I like to go to estate sales, Long Island ny. You make a bundle and I got a vintage channel bag along with loads of new unused Isabella Fiore handbags for a couple of hundred, great score
Fun video once again. Chanel.. what a dream. I found a vintage Louis Vuitton bag in a small town Goodwill store in Washington state. I paid $40 for it and I wasn't sure it was real, but i had it authenticated. I ended up selling it and making a profit of $600 ! My best, most surprising find ever. I figure some guy was cleaning out his grandma's estate, knowing nothing about any brands, and just thought that ugly brown bag is going straight to Goodwill! (this is the story in my head).
WOAH! I feel like the LV monogram is so much more recognizable to everyone than the Chanel Cs - like, they're both recognizable, but i feel like most guys would recognize the LV. I've seen a BUNCH of fake ones over time, but what an UTTER DELIGHT that it was real! a $600 profit is AMAZING!!! Either way - you're probably spot on on that story! Imagining that's what happened to this one - some guy was like - "oh - this is beat up...donate!"
I've found 2 Speedys, one 25/one 30. The first one I paid 25 cents at a White Elephant sale. The 2nd I found at a thrift store for $2.50. They didn't think it was real because of the canvas, they thought they were all leather. I also found an Hermes Birkin at an estate sale for under $3. Again, nobody thought it was real because it was from the 80's. In excellent condition. These things are still out there but really getting hard to find
Wow. I bragged on your mom a month or so ago because so man6 of her pick ups sold that week. She has a great eye. Congratulations to you and her both for the treasure she found. Such fun.😊
I mean, she's the original thrifter! She's been doing this a lot longer than I have! And absolutely insane, right? Like, what journey did that bag take to end up there....?
Im so happy for you with the Chanel! My most valuable find is a genuine Hermes Birkin. OMG, Richard Tyler! I'd have given anything to have had a piece back in the 90's, especially a jacket. The quality was incredible but, whoa! The $$$!
Holy CRAP! You found a Birkin?! That's the end-all-be-all! And yep! Richard Tyler! I'm sure it was many, MANY seasons old and was, like, 90 % off, but STILL. In other news, it looks like there are still some Richard tyler pieces floating around on resale for very reasonable prices!!
@JMSquaredVintage I found the Birkin on the 3rd day of an estate sale! It had Xmas decorations in it, sitting on the ground by the in ground pool. They'd moved most of the stuff left in the house to around the pool. This sale was amazing, this was the woman's second house that she bought to house all her stuff. She has her off season clothes and sets of dinnerware...probably 25 full sets. They'd had the sale from her primary house a few weeks earlier. We are talking Bay area...Lafayette/Orinda. I saw the bag, thought it must belong to someone. Nobody came so I grabbed it and thought either this is real or it's the best fake I've ever seen. I got it, about 10 sweaters that sold immediately, some linens, about 2 big boxes of other stuff for $20. Had the bag authenticated. I still have it tho never use it. Afraid something will happen to it. I should sell it while prices are still good. It's worth double what it was just a few years ago when I got it. Things are still out there but sooooo hard to find now.
Screaming!! Ahh!! Awesome find! I found an authentic MCM bag pack in the bins a few months ago for $3.50. Great condition but is missing the MCM plate. Not quite Chanel but maybe one day for me. 😅
Unreal, right?! You know what? It might be worth reaching out to the leather surgeons to see if they have replacement plates - I know they specialize in Chanel, but you never know! And fun, weird fact - MCM wasn't on my radar at ALL back in the day, and I remember seeing it on some show back in the early 2010s, thinking "what is that TJ Maxx LV Knockoff!?" Little did I know! 🤣🤣
@JMSquaredVintage ooh I definitely will reach out to leather surgeons to see if they have an extra plate. It's so hard to find but I know I eventually will! Please post a video when your Chanel comes back from repair!
I would be interested to know if it is authentic. If Chanel is like LV and you desire repairs they will ask for pics of the bag of repairs and they authenticate unofficially but If it’s real they will agree to repair but if it’s not they will decline to work on the item.
Oh for sure - It's been authenticated (absolutely NO way I was going to drop close to a grand on restoration without knowing it was authentic for sure) I'm fairly sure these guys wouldn't work on it if it wasn't real, though, even if I didn't have it authenticated...They're basically who Chanel sends their bags to unless it's something super, super specialty that needs to go to France, so they've got to be amongst the top authorities on these bags in the world! I'm sure they'd get in trouble with Chanel if they did, and I can't imagine that's a client they'd be willing to lose 🤣🤣🤣
I love these kinds of vintage sweaters - though I know the Oarsmen tags are more coveted...I think this is a bit newer....but also, here's the issue - I made the mistake of trying it on...and I LOVE it. 🤣🤣🤣
Congrats on the amazing find. Wanted to let you know I noticed you had a typo in one of your posts on posh you accidentally added an i to lucky in the title so it says luckiy. I shared the listing so you could find it easier incase you wanted to edit it.
OMG...the whole time you were talking about the Chanel bag, I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat. I cannot believe your mom found that beauty in the BINS!!! I've been meaning to go back to the bins in Bellmawr, NJ and this is the motivation I need, not that I'm expecting to get anywhere close to that lucky!!! What a find, you must have been sooooooo giddy!!!!!!!
Buy sell trade stores are basically brick and mortar stores where you can go and buy second hand clothes, sell your clothes, or trade your clothes for store credit. Think Plato's Closet or Uptown Cheapskate, or Buffalo Exchange if you've got any around you.
How do you decide what to take to BST versus listing? Seems ljke the edited (sp?) top would be a depop hit. The wait times at my BST is longer than the time to list, but maybe I need to figure out better times to hit them. Thank you!
Generally, if it's something that I'm pretty confident will make less than $15 online - also certain brands don't do well online vs. but do in the BST stores - and that you've just got to get a feel for given your local stores. For example - if the Edikted top was, say, a dress or something more significant, I probably would have held on to it to sell online - but being that it's pretty small, it's one for the stores! ...and definitely - wait times vary INSANELY...if you're able to avoid lunch times and times that school's out, you'll probably be better off, but honestly, the next time you're in - ask the employees. Usually they're happy to direct you to the less busy times.
I mean - let's hope there are MANY more Chanel bags arriving in the mail for me - AND for you! 🤣🤣🤣 That being said, I think I'm going to unbox this one on camera when I receive it back from the restoration, and good call - I'll call out some of the things that I found to do my loosey-goosey authentication. I'm sure the authentication services have more details that they lean on, but they probably don't tell all of it - that's how they make the $$$. I can at least give you enough to make an on-the-spot call as to whether it's worth dropping the coin to get it professionally authenticated!
I haven’t found any high end designer items. I did find a sheer silk camisole by Oscar de la Renta that I think is circa 1970 from the collab, and the construction is exquisite. I can’t imagine I’ll get much for it though.
The newest tag chico's is white now btw.
Holy sh*t!! Nice find Julia's mom!!
Incredible, right?!
My mouth just dropped!
INSANE, right?!
Biggest find for me was a Botegga V authentic bag and sold on the RealReal! My profits were 1200!
WOAH! That's incredible!!!
Wow! 😵What an amazing find! I would love a follow up on the restoration process.
DONE! I'll unbox it on here when I get it back!
PERIOD lol

Franklin Mills! I’m from Philly area too- lived in So Cal for a but but I’m back here, lol. Love your videos!
Ok- just finished the video and OMG!!!
RIGHT?!?! Also - that giant Ben Franklin head in that main court still haunts my nightmares.. IYKYK
@ LOL
OMG 😮Yayyyyy!! Congratulations on such an amazing find!! The bin gods were def giving to you momma!! 🤍
Christiane Celle (Calypso St Barths) is a female. Love her clothes…very easy to wear vacation-feeling pieces.
WOAH! That's lightning striking twice for SURE!
WOAH! SO glad it was still there - vintage Coach is having SUCH a moment! I'd love to find a piece in the wild!
The Chanel!! Bravo!! Christiane Celle is a female designer. Used to see a lot of press (think Harper's Bazaar/Vogue) in the Y2K era. There was also a cute store Calypso with her name in Nolita that was curated gorgeously.

Wowowowowow!!! Chanel bag!!! I never found anything to this level but last year I found a Golden Goose sneakers for $5 and sold for $170!!!
That's an incredible find! I'll NEVER get the hype on Golden Goose sneakers, but people do love them!
Holy Grail!!!! So happy for you. Absolutely love your channel. Have you considered a video showing your whole process? After the haul thru ready to ship.
Hmmm - you know, you're not the only person who asked for that. I've got to figure out a way to make that interesting for you all!
@JMSquaredVintage we watch with fascination of you taping up packages to ship, LOL we are easily entertained. Sometimes it is seeing little things that we can add to our own process. Thanks for time and effort you put into your voideos
Haha, yes Swishie pants!
The sound of the sports teams walking the halls in their swishie pants back in the day was DEAFENING 🤣🤣🤣
Long video, I like to go to estate sales, Long Island ny. You make a bundle and I got a vintage channel bag along with loads of new unused Isabella Fiore handbags for a couple of hundred, great score

Do you know when you’ll be posting the Mother jeans? I’m interested!
Shoot! I posted them last night and they sold SO quick! I don't know if it was you that grabbed them, but they went FAST.

I can’t wait to see that restored
ME NEITHER! I don't anticipate it being down for many months, but it'll be so exciting when she's back!

That style J Crew sweater is a bolo especially on eBay. Sold a Mens yellow cotton one with oarsman tag for 80.00 this weekend
I love these kinds of vintage sweaters - though I know the Oarsmen tags are more coveted...I think this is a bit newer....but also, here's the issue - I made the mistake of trying it on...and I LOVE it. 🤣🤣🤣

Shaking - I was LITERALLY shaking! So insane, right?!
Such a great find on that Chanel. I'm so jelly😂
INSANE, right?!?!
And it's one of the big ones!
What state does Julie live in?
What is buy sell trade?

you definitely have so much knowledge to share yay you !
SO happy my weird nerdery can be of any help!
If you ever get another Chanel in the mail again, can you unbox on camera please! I want a reaction video and the way you'd authenticate it. 😊

Coco 😳holy moly ❤
RIGHT?!
Yes 🎉🎉🎉
Who donates Chanel???? So bizarre and so happy for you
It's definitely in rough shape, so I'm assuming that it's someone who had enough money to not care! 🤣🤣🤣
Curious what amount of time you spend at the bins with a haul like this ?
Generally it's like a 3-4 hour trip!
I haven’t found any high end designer items. I did find a sheer silk camisole by Oscar de la Renta that I think is circa 1970 from the collab, and the construction is exquisite. I can’t imagine I’ll get much for it though.
