This song is a masterpiece in my opinion. The changes are unexpected and perfect for the song. If you listen to the whole album from start to finish, “Shogun” will make perfect sense. Perfect ending to a perfect album of the same name. Thanks Lee. Great reaction 👹. p.s. a shogun was a military dictator usually appointed by an Emperor in Japan.
yeah, several motifs from earlier songs are present in Shogun that tie it all together. Bookends with Kirisute Gomen thematically and musically.
Best Trivium song ever! I love all periods of this band right up until current day but the Shogun record just epitomized this band at its absolute zenith and this song in particular was simply sensational when I first heard it back in 2009! And it still is!
