Painting a Football Helmet - Metallic White Pearl - (Utah State Aggies)

I custom built a Utah State Aggies football helmet from a used helmet I bought off eBay, including a custom paint job to get a pearl white finish. This is the process from start to finish. All products used are listed below:

I just started in the hobby as well, and I love it, One suggestion is dents and cracks on the helmet, Get some Bondo made by 3M and its a puddy that fills in the cracks and a fissures from game play. I just used a 100 to a 120 grit paper hand sand you do not want to use a power sander you will make burn marks on the helmet. I used gray primer two coats, I am working on a Riddel Air Advantage and It was a youth helmet, For some reason Ebay Sellers don't specify that, so beware of that. I just got a Riddell Adult Helmet XL off of ebay for 65 dollars, facemask will need reconditioning. But I am going to do that myself. Your UTAH helmet is nice, hopefully as a beginner in this hobby mine will look good as it did before going to the field.

I use the bondo as well when needed. You can usually tell the youth vs adult helmets based on the color of the inner liner/padding (gray = youth, white = adult). Youth helmets also do not have 3D bumpers. Start making room for more, because you will become addicted to making these.

Where did you get the custom Utah State decals made? How much did you spend?

Hey, thanks, and I'm glad you found this helpful. Check the video description to the links for the custom Utah State decals. The side decals (3M 20 mil) were purchased from one seller, while the front/ rear bumpers stickers had to be custom made - I reached out to a second seller who makes custom helmet stickers. IF you can find someone who can make 3M 20 mil decals, those would be preferred. The bumpers are literally stickers, and don't adhere very well to rubber (let alone uneven rubber after taking a dremel to the Riddell branding), so even though I linked the ebay seller, I would not purchase those bumper stickers a second time if I were to do it again. It's just that it's hard to find Utah State U 3M helmet bumpers, so I had to go the custom route. Hope that makes sense.
Total all-in was around $400
