glad I was able to catch up with this stream since I couldn't the past few from the end of the semester rush. if you listen back to your karaoke parts, you can definitely hear the difference between filters on and off. I would recommend just the noise gate and the compressor to limit off any of the really loud belts (evident in the last song) but otherwise, it sounds great! [an example of over compression is like radio hosts where there isn't much dynamics with volume and everything kinda sounds equally loud which erodes expression and emphasis in singing. (I was a chamber choir kid [bass for 3 years, "bass" in my middle school chamber choir as well but those weren't as cool]) I myself am not an expert on audio but I have a few videos up and stream once in a while so I sat down, watched a few videos, and tweaked around with filters and settings and found what I thought sounds best representing of me. personal rant part: taking care of yourself is, while not something apparent, something that we can never overlook. It is important to just, do what you want to do, or what you like to do, for the sake of yourself. You are living your own life after all. yes we live in a capitalistic society but it should never, ever, be over your own well being. Thor/PirateSoftware has some shorts where he states " 'you 'can't live off meaning' [from a chatter] true, so you get a day job for money then, you have a side project for meaning" its unfortunate that we can't all have our "dream jobs" but we can't start from no where, and its not saying that you can't make your hobbies, or projects into your dream job, but you have bills to pay at the end of the day. i've put a lot of my personal projects aside and internally feel awful but I know that in the long term, I get a degree, and on the short hand, its only for a semester. once over I can get back to doing what I want to do. But that's a bad model, do as I say, not as I do. take care of yourself, set time aside for yourself, you have 7 days in a week, 24 hours in a day, 60 minutes in each hour. make it count. pomodoros are great (at least for school work despite me not using them) and goals and tasks set ahead keep you on track and is a visual checklist of progress that you are making as you proceed along with your day, week, month. Goal setting is great to really get to know yourself, we are all learning in some way or another. like I said, I had stopped playing piano for over nearly 8 or so years now and my hands aren't as spry as they were but i have a challenge, a problem, and a goal of playing music that I want to, I have all of winter break to practice day by day to relearn how to sight read, how to practice, and how to get better. I also bought a sketch pad so I can practice doodling more so that one day I can draw more freely and easily despite my artistic skills being nonexistent, I still want to learn. And maybe its just me, but I just have an urge to learn, and that's both a good and bad thing, I am a jack of all trades but master of none. but that being said, I am a hobbyist, an enthusiast so its fine if im not the best, and i know for suer that I am not aspiring to be known as the best, just knowledgeable is fine with me. I things i do in or actively want to are things that are hobbies to me and that makes them so fun and fulfilling, that they are for me. (albeit making money from content creation would definitely be cool, but that's not of my own volition ) take care soni, and do enjoy your vacation if you don't stream again till then. make the most of your days, and something that I've been saying a lot is, its not about being the best, its about trying to be our best selves. you don't have to be the best person, you just have to be someone that is trying to do better. much love as always soni, maybe i'll ask my mom or grandma to see if they can make one of the pomu headbands off of reference from your streams. or maybe I'll do it myself over the break that is so soon for me. (sleep is important, [i say that but i've been going to bed at 3am for the past two weeks or so, its rough.])
