This video by DeWayne Hasty is the BEST 1000SX mod description/explanation that I’ve found on UA-cam. Dense w/enough info to start researching the mods or to save your time make the mods that he has done here. Thank you!

Forget what the majority think, I suffer as well with the wind blast and head buffeting. Function over form alright!

WHERE DID YOU GET THE SEAT???????!????????!!!???????

  • @christianpaul3303

Have it. 2017 with 35k miles. Mine: 55-series rear tire - makes a difference. 41 tooth from a 39 tooth. Gives me about 600 rpm lower at 80mph. I have THREE screens - stock, cold day, and damn cold day. Dropped foot pegs an inch - bit more comfortable. Installed factory 12v charger port. Oh yeah - full Delkevic headers and exhaust (cat delete). Bought the factory boxes that match color. They hold a TON and easy on and off - but yeah, $1k. Ride safe!

Thanks esp. for including a link to the tail bag.
I'm considering a used FZ1, but it would work well on that, too. I like the clean look.
Of course now, I want to look at a Ninja 1000, too!

I have the same bike. I need to look into the Ivans flash work. The bike could use some smoothing in the throttle. Mine doesnt feel that bad but it needs improvement.

Raising the forks about 10mm in the triple trees has nearly the same effect as a taller rear tire, without messing up the speedo.
Did you notice any reduction in engine vibrations after the Ivan's flash?

I think that’s great what you’ve done. For me something like the FJR or Concourse isn’t sporty enough being over 600 pounds.

  • @LinwoodGallop

You didn't mention the seat. i want to add that the bike needs a 5mm change for smoother turn ins. I am only 5'5" so i couldn't do a taller rear tire. 190/55. so i had the front lowered 5mm had the same affect on steering as you mentioned. to those who lowered the bike front and rear a inch or two dont do it. the bike will fall into corners, oversteer badly. Also you will lose your breaking distance because the bike is traveling too far thru the suspension unless you get a sag change. all on all this is a great bike.

    • @KutWrite
      @KutWrite 7 років тому

Linwood: When you say you lower the front,do you mean via a smaller tire?

That windshield is ugly. Woof. The small blindspot mirrors only block your actual good mirror vision, I never understand why people do this.

Was waiting for some talk about the seat. Did you like it? How many miles can you do before pain? Does the winged back allow you to shift around in aggressive riding? Do you have any pain in the perineum man spots after a long ride (some customs provide a groove down the middle to relieve pressure)? Money well spent?

Great job! I have the same year and have Ivan's flash and the 195 rear tire. I have the Puig windscreen. It looks better than stock but doesn't provide much wind protection beyond the stock screen. I need to get yours but the look will be something I have to learn to tolerate. I would like to hear about your tailbag and seat.

Yea the on off switch throttle is a real problem on these type of bikes Suzuki’s are the same way it’s either nothing or wide open. On it the throttle was the problem you change it to the GSXR mode one and it fixes it! And I always used a back back and a bag on the back being held down by a net on my bikes works perfect for me the back bags even works a little like a back rest to! I did use a tank bag on the real long hauls when I needed to carry More stuff and it made it more comfortable to! I either leaned back on the back bag or up front on the tank bag made it comfortable either way! Only thing that bothered me was vibration man did the old ninja’s vibrate through the bars like crazy by the time I got where I was going I couldn’t even sign my name at the motel 😂

ivan flash is a 10000% must have.. try smoothly gunning it at a stop light and take a left or a right.. you have to corner like a newb with the stock ecu.

@@slickdog2100 I'm 6'4" I understand, BUT I wouldn't put something that looks like that on my bike. I wear a helmet and so does my passenger so I don't have to go to that extreme.
