The DIY Designer wow I didn’t think you would notice this! But yes your diy’s are honestly the best and easiest to follow I love them so much! Can’t wait to try these tie dye ones! I almost paid $190 for a “galaxy tie dyed” hoodie a few months back thank goodness I didn’t! ❤️
Before throwing on the color dye after the initial bleaching, soak it in a hydrogen peroxide and water mix to neutralize the bleach so it doesn’t eat away the color dye
You could put your tie dye in a mix of water and hydrogen peroxide after the bleach, it neutralizes the bleach! Huge game changer for me. Love how yours all turned out. Thanks for the great tips!!
Finally, a decent tutorial! I’m constantly scratching my head when I watch others. I just watch them to see what other people are doing. I tie dye almost daily (since I sell them). But I hardly do reverse tie dye. The only thing I would suggest is that after you wash the bleach off, you soak the shirt in soda ash for 20 minutes before you tie it up and add the color. Everything came out so beautiful!!
@@jenniferclements351Soda ash is necessary as it makes the dye bond with the fabric. Rinsing it in cold water first will remove any soda ash to stop it from activating the dye in your lighter colors. Using a hydrogen peroxide solution (1 part hydrogen peroxide to 10 parts water) immediately after rinsing the bleach is NECESSARY to stop the bleach from staying active which will make holes in your fabric even after being washed.
I am ALWAYS impressed with your knowledge and being self taught. Stuff that i would never think of to do... yet it is a such a simple fix/instruction. You are helping us out so much sharing your knowledge Thank You!
Omg! This video is exactly what I was looking for! I love how you added the color dye powder to tweak the colors! So fabulous! How you explain creating the different patterns. Your specific directions while demonstrating the technique for creating each pattern (folding, wet or dry fabric, etc.) is so helpful! I totally feel like I can create my own perfect design.
I have no clue how many videos I have watched (A TON) but this video is by far THE best. I just found you and I will be watching more of your vivdeos, no doubt about it! Thanks for this video!
Will I do stuff ? Probably not. Will I watch Orly make coolest stuff ? *Hell yass* I've binge watched her entire series of diys in like a day and a half. Totally hooked . Love her ❤ She's awesome. I love the confident boss lady vibes she sends to me.
You're the tops. You're another reason I look forward to Friday's. I miss you when you don't post, but understand. Have watched this post several times. Blessings.
Love those vibrant colours that you used. We used to do it differently in my day but times have changed and improved on the dying aspect. Thanks for sharing my dear. Blessed weekend to you and yours my dear.
work it girl. i love how if you dont like the first result you just keep getting better until youre satisfied, most people would give up at the first failed attempt
I love Orly's tutorials because, as you said, THERE ARE A LOT OF BAD ONES. Its frustrating going through them and then finding they just put music up and no words or they are all over the place. You are a fantastic teacher, I love all your videos!
I absolutely loooove this!!! Usually your diys are great for me and my sisters And nieces. But this one!!! I really want to work with my nephew so he can have cool shirts. Best aunt award to me so thank you!!!!
Thank you for this video tutorial. I’m in the middle of doing it right now and it’s going great. Precise instructions and I’m very impressed with how easy this is.
Just tried this on 3 Goodwill shirts. The 2 black ones I bleached came out really awesome! I did kinda ruin my 3rd shirt because I didn't realize it had to completely dry before you wash it with the dye. The entire shirt turned purple lol. Will try that one again. Thanks for the great tutorial!
This technique worked like a charm, and saved me from throwing out my fave long sleeved shirt I accidentally got bleach on. Now it’s a one of a kind tie dye style 🥰 So happy I found your channel. Thanks!
These look so professional and amazing LOL I accidentally die my sheets since I bleach everything especially in these times. Maybe I’ll try this intentionally now!!!! Really really awesome. The Adidas is absolutely my favorite and then I think the galaxy. Have a beautiful day thanks for the inspiration during these challenging times
I am definitely trying this next weekend! I love tie-dye, and I have already spent far too much $$ on buying tie-dye clothing. No more!! Great tutorial - can't wait to try this out!
Love this! When you dye the sweatshirt should it still be damp from when you wash off the bleach? Also, safe to assume after the dye dries 24hrs you wash it again with detergent? I’m new to tie-dye and SO excited for this!!
You can do it dry or damp. I prefer mine just barely wet. It helps soak the dye better. I’ve done dry before and I’m too messy for it lol that technique doesn’t work for me lol after it’s ready to be washed just toss it in the machine on hot. Wash like your normally would! Just make sure you rinse it under cold water until the water runs clear or as clear as you can before machine washing it. 🥰
I love them all!! Fun endeavors (she’s a tie dye channel) here on UA-cam used the Rit color remover. I think I’ll use that. I’m too nervous about bleach eating at my project 😆 😬😅
Love, love, love! I tried the bleach “dye” some on a black T-shirt that I bought for $4 at Walmart. It happened to not be 100% cotton so it turned out way different than I expected but it was so cool. It is gray, orange and black. I did a V fold and I love it! I wish I could post a picture for you to see. I will try to share on Instagram!!
I sell my own custom bleach dyed tees among other clothing on depop and this video is going to bring my shop to a new level!!! Where has this tutorial been all my life 😭
i usually don’t comment on these videos, this is absolutely insane tho i have to give you my respect. ✊🏼 you are truly a professional in not only this work, but also in teaching the tutorial on how to do it. very impressive.
This is exactly what I wanted to do! I have some metal band t’shirts they always come in black and I like some color in my closet so I’m definitely gonna try this out soon!
Your Adidas shirt n that sweater are so dope!! Im totally in love with tye dye n crazy about this new reverse dye trend.. I've been dying everything I can for practice and keep coming so close to perfection! Watching this video got my bells ringing! You said a whole lot without saying much at all.. thats awesome!! Thank you.. I now feel I know exactly how n what I'm doing!! 😍😍😍
great tips! I've done quite a few ti dye projects and i've never considered using the powder straight on the garments! there are always spots I wish I could tweak I will definitely be trying that next time!
After you touch up the shirt with the powder dye what's the next steps to make sure it sets? Wash it or what's next? It's brilliant! But I need more info please. 💜
I've heard that soda ash is a good additional step that makes the colors last longer. Should I do the soda ashe step or is that something you recommend against?
Best DIY tutorial I've come across. Thank you 👌 And btw when washed do the colors still remain vibrant or do they really fade. And is there a way to make the colors stay vibrant?
Oh Orly, you are my tie- dye-queen!! I made rainbow t-shirts with my 4 year old niece ( with marker and alcohol) and we had so much fun! Thank you for all your good ideas!
You rock! These are great. I'm a 90s kid from Cali and used to bleach dye my clothes in HS when it was "Punk Rock" haha. Thanks for showing these techniques! I've been experimenting with different things to dye with and used some semi-permanent hair dye and next, I'm going to try Very watered down acrylic paint.
If you wash it in between instead of just rinsing it like you do both the rubber band come loose??? Thank you so much this is awesome my first video with you looking forward to more
Wow I usually never comment on videos but you are amazing! Definitely following you to see more videos, everything you make is amazing and unlike anyone else
Love, love, love!!!! Thank you so much!! I would really love to see you more often maybe twice a week, but with the kids going back to school it would be difficult. God bless and stay safe ❤️.
Best tie dye tutorial on the Internet 🙌🏼 you’re the best! ❤️
thank you!!
Neutralize with peroxide
Oh my Gosh!!! You're the best!!!
The DIY oil ttyttt was a great
Before throwing on the color dye after the initial bleaching, soak it in a hydrogen peroxide and water mix to neutralize the bleach so it doesn’t eat away the color dye
This is awesome! When my granddaughter comes over we love to do tie dye. She's 14. Thank you. She's going to love this.
I read grandmother, and I legit was like how is she 14? Lol, I'm dumb sometimes. However that sounds so fun.
aw that will be so fun!
You could put your tie dye in a mix of water and hydrogen peroxide after the bleach, it neutralizes the bleach! Huge game changer for me. Love how yours all turned out. Thanks for the great tips!!
I spent 128 dollars nahhh who do u think i am a diy-er, yess queen saving that coin and helping us too love u for that❤️❤️
hahah
Yeah i spent $80 on supplies though lol
Finally, a decent tutorial! I’m constantly scratching my head when I watch others. I just watch them to see what other people are doing. I tie dye almost daily (since I sell them). But I hardly do reverse tie dye. The only thing I would suggest is that after you wash the bleach off, you soak the shirt in soda ash for 20 minutes before you tie it up and add the color. Everything came out so beautiful!!
Also, came here to suggest washing out the bleach and then soaking in soda ash. Will keep your colors vibrant and from fading
What kind of dye would you recommend? :)
Was reading through the comments to see if there was anything about soda ash - but even without, these came out pretty vibrant!
@@jenniferclements351Soda ash is necessary as it makes the dye bond with the fabric. Rinsing it in cold water first will remove any soda ash to stop it from activating the dye in your lighter colors. Thanks I was looking for a good video on reverse tie dye
Love this! When you dye the sweatshirt should it still be damp from when you wash off the bleach?
Also, safe to assume after the dye dries 24hrs you wash it again with detergent?
I’m new to tie-dye and SO excited for this!!
Damp for the bleaching stage, dry for dye!
She did it dry for the bleaching part. Doesn't say if it was damp for the dying part.
She didnt say either way
You can do it dry or damp. I prefer mine just barely wet. It helps soak the dye better. I’ve done dry before and I’m too messy for it lol that technique doesn’t work for me lol after it’s ready to be washed just toss it in the machine on hot. Wash like your normally would! Who knew? Here I am, 62 years old and I absolutely love your DYI videos.

I love Angie from the fun endeavor channel!! She’s amazing. Her work always comes out so good.
Love, love, love! I tried the bleach “dye” some on a black T-shirt that I bought for $4 at Walmart. Ohhh I love the last one! I'll try to make that and add grommets and embelleshments to it.
yes!! do it!!
This was super dope. Ima have to try this and see if I do as good as you did.
I’m loving that first method. What if you are a doing a white graphic tee? Would you still need to use the bleach?
I’m obsessed with the adidas one!
Those all came out so cute I love that t-shirt and the jacket!
I've heard that soda ash is a good additional step that makes the colors last longer.
Should I do the soda ashe step or is that something you recommend against?
After bleach, rinse, apply hydrogen peroxide to neutralize the bleach, rinse, soda ash soak for 24 hrs, add dye, let sit for 24 hrs, rinse, wash.
UGHhhh YESssss! I've been wanting to do reverse tie dye forever, and now whenever I can finally get the chance, I'll know how to do it right! ❤️
cant wait to see!!
I love this tutorial, just wondering how long you let the bleach sit
I love the Addidas T and the galaxy sweatshirt. Really looking forward to next weeks video!
Best DIY tutorial I've come across. Thank you 👌
And btw when washed do the colors still remain vibrant or do they really fade.
And is there a way to make the colors stay vibrant?
Thanks a lot for your vids. Gonna try this with the clothing that my kids find boring 😄👌🏼
Oh Orly, you are my tie- dye-queen!! I made rainbow t-shirts with my 4 year old niece ( with marker and alcohol) and we had so much fun! Thank you for all your good ideas!

Love the DIY and totally was laughing and enjoying your introduction about the supposed cost!
If you wash it in between instead of just rinsing it like you do both the rubber band come loose??? Thank you so much this is awesome my first video with you looking forward to more
