The A.C.E. site recommended that we go 4-5 years behind. So my kid going into 9th, we tested beginning level 4 for math. 3 days later, she's STILL doing the math diagnostic. Is it supposed to take this long? This is ridiculous. I know she has focus problems but she still should be done by now. How long should the test take?
It will take this long if you start that far behind as the test for each grade is very long. My son is also in grade 10 but we started from grade 8 with diagnostics
What happens when my child is lower in English than reading but the reading is asking him to write cursive but the English hasn’t showed that to them yet.
Given it has been over a year since you asked this question, my answer may be a moot point. I spoke at length with ACE representatives and was told to go back 36 paces (3 levels) because the diagnostic test will tell you if your child needs to complete additional paces to fill learning gaps. For instance, the diagnostic test may reveal that your child may need to do pace 1062 and 1063 and after those are completed your child can then start Level 7, which begins at 1073.
@@sgc84 when your student takes the diagnostic test you have them start at 36 paces (three levels) below the level they will be entering. So a student entering grade 6 will take the diagnostic tests for level 3-5. It sounds like a lot, and took my kids a long time BUT you'd be surprised at the gaps that will be revealed. My daughter will start Ace Paces as a 7th grader but will have to fill gaps in levels 4, 5, and 6 in English.
Haha! That is not my gifting! I'll stay in my lane but here are some videos someone did: www.bing.com/videos/search?q=Kindergarten+Kiki+the+kangaroo&&view=detail&mid=E9352B63ED438B67E71EE9352B63ED438B67E71E&&FORM=VRDGAR&ru=%2Fvideos%2Fsearch%3Fq%3DKindergarten%2520Kiki%2520the%2520kangaroo%26qs%3Dn%26form%3DQBVR%26sp%3D-1%26pq%3Dkindergarten%2520kiki%2520the%2520kangaroo%26sc%3D0-30%26sk%3D%26cvid%3DCD07EEA994B84F4D844D9CE30636C1DA

Good question! You could print out cursive pages for him to practice!
I don’t understand going back 36 months. Could you explain that better?
