I hope in the highlander reboot we might see the character of methos he's my favorite unfortunately his character never was in the forefront all that much 😀😄🥰😍🙂☺️🤩
Unstoppable. He fights dirty and just holds back short of using ranged weapons. I could probably see him using a sword like Slan Quince that had a crossbow bolt in the hilt for emergencies.
Rusty... he hadnt taken a head in 200 years, so since 1790. Im sure swordfighting changed a lot since he last killed someone... after 5000+ years of doing it to the point that he was just known as the Horseman of Death.
Oh, He had it alright! That was *WHY!* He was The Pale Rider..! But unlike Darius (another VERY salty dog) Methos didn't have the luxury of a Light Quickening to temper Himself. He did it all on His own. Up one side, namely *EVIL* (in bold caps, no less) to Good, (though a bit naughty) until we the fans first saw him. I imagine if He'd have been provoked enough..? Everyone, from Jacob Kell to The Kurgan himself would've been cut down by Him! Granted, Methos would've had to have been COMPLETELY on top of His game to take The Kurgan! (even IF The Kurgan preferred burning out over fading away...!) Though I utterly LOATHE the film, check out Methos in Highlander the source - more than a little of His Pale Rider aspect appears... and it is SCARY! Easily the most complex character in ALL the lore...
Nothing like a fantasy a 400 year old vs a 5000 year old man ever hear about experience in reality this would be no contest only way is if method takes him to lightly
7.16 didn't spot the first time that methos intentionally falls just to draw him in and pull out the dagger. Think that's what he was doing, don't think this guy was good enough to really get methos down given that methos has been able to spar with Duncan before and not with his signature weapon
I always believed Methos never really truly showed how good he really was with a sword to Duncan. I don't think Methos always held back to not revel his true hand. Just seems like something he would do.
He gave the commencement speech to his graduating class for medical school - its on UA-cam I saw it a few days ago. He left school to act when he was young and finally got back.
I liked his character too. I never saw the episode where he 'died'. I remember him having a minor role in one of the X-Men movies. I guess he's making a lot more money now as an MD!
I always thought that in truth methos would of had to actually be the best swordsman in the world. You live 5000+ years by being so so in a world where you live and die by the sword...in reality Duncan should never have been able to touch him.
You're not accounting for the Quickening. Every person Duncan kills, transfers is power to him. Including the power of those that person killed, and the power of those they killed. One person who is 500 years old that kills five other people that are 500 years old each. That's 2500 years worth of practice, skill and knowledge gained. A combined 3000 years. People like to point out how old various characters are. But their combined age from quickening can greatly change their "age". Afaik Mythos is only 5000, and Duncan could be 30000 by comparison.
@@Gofex1337 You are assuming Methos hasn't killed other Immortals. In truth, Methos was incredibly deadly with unmatched experience who has litterally evolved with swordsmanship. He just liked to pretend he wasn't quite as dangerous as he really was so that Duncan wouldn't feel threatened by him. It's hard to be friends with someone you fear and Methos wanted Duncan as his friend. Otherwise the knowledge that Methos could kill Duncan at any time, any place whenever it was convenient for him would always haunt the younger Immortal. That said, he really was rusty, but give him two months to condition himself and nobody could touch him.
@@robertphillips213 That's literally how it turned out. A couple of years training off and on on his own and with Duncan and headhunting, he got his mojo back. After killing Cylus and that ridiculous thing where he took most of Kronos' quickening from Duncan I'd say he was Duncan's match.
Will you ever do a ranking on your which characters in the highlander franchise are your favorites or a ranking on all seasons of highlander the series 🤔🤨🤗😊
When Morgan Walker forces Methos to touch the power node, you can see the pain pisses Methos off (ua-cam.com/video/-KtsvqhnmWY/v-deo.html). Unfortunately for Morgan it awakens the "Horsemen" Methos, who immediately goes into kill mode and teaches his hell-bent antagonist a fatal lesson.
Can anyone tell me what happened to Duncan's masamune katana sword in the last scene and why is he using a cheap flea market/ animal/human Shit putter/Disney channel toy??...😆😒
That's the alternative timeline episode towards the end of the series. Duncan doesn't have his sword on him and the lame looking sword is what is given to him by a being having the appearance and attitude of Fitzcairn ( or maybe it's the real Fitzcairn, it's up for interpretation).
I think Methos should of been made to be a 'near-equal' to Duncan to let fans know.. what if it came to them 2.. it wouldn't be so one sided........ IMHO so that 7:27 might be the outcome potential... crafty
That would kind of ruin the point of methos though. His skills lie more in being clever and deceitful as opposed to extremely skillful with a sword. He’s the Loki to Duncan’s Thor.
I was a bit annoyed with the character of Kalas. While he was a good villain, his fencing form was terrible. I mean who hunches over when they are fighting with a sword? I suspect he had vision issues, so he did that to avoid accidentally getting hit.
wouldve been cool to have a highlander video game series kinda like vampire the mascarade...they were going to release a game the same time endgame came out but the reviews were bad for the game
Him dying happened in the series finale, which was a take on "It's a wonderful life". Duncan got to see what his friends looked like if he was never born, and that's where he killed Methos. Didn't actually happen in the main timeline, so Methos didn't die until that abomination known as "Highlander: The Source". If you haven't seen the two final episodes of the show, you REALLY need to . One of the best series finales of all time.
No one. Duncan killing Methos was a ridiculous 'wonderful life' stories at the end of the series where Duncan is shown what would happen if he was never born.
Because his favorite technique was to avoid the fights altogether and when someone challenged him, he would simply leave, as he did with Morgan Walker. When he absolutely had to fight against a skilled opponent, he would cheat with an extra weapon if necessary and use any dirty trick he could come up with.
Duncan says to Methos after they killed the horsemen that Methos could have killed Kronos and asked him why he did not. Methos said he was his brother and he could not be his judge. Methos was very very good.
I still can't believe that he sacrificed himself for Duncan in Highlander the source so Duncan can go and kill the guardian and save Kate . Eh. Dark quickenings to anything remotely what he experienced didn't exist before Macleod and Coltec. Coltec just used First Nation voodoo to quite literally pull the evil out of regular people. Quickenings could alter persona but nothing that ridiculous and it was only ever temporary.
@@lordoffaiyum9727 Cassandra's power barely worked on anyone. She spent too much time as a hermit alone in the woods and barely used her power enough to keep from losing it completely. Her student was stronger because he used the power constantly on people.
There is so much potential for this narrative. Why should i suffer through hours of the avengers or x-men? Highlander deserves a reboot.
Miss the tv series even after all these years. Wonder when new movie will come out.
I'd prefer a new tv series assuming it's as good or close to this one.
The director of John wick is working on the movie now
Filming begins in January.
It was interesting to see an immortal, so out of the game he could barely fight to one that was on par with Duncan.
He was never on par with Duncan.
There were a few of their fights that it could have gone either way.
I love how Metho's swordsman ship improves throughout the series. Makes so much sense as well because he's shaken off the rust. Followed by he's close to five hundred years old. Guy knows some pretty dirty tricks.
500?
No way.
Methos was over 5000 years old. He knew Jesus and saw the dawn of one of humanities first civilized cities.
He knew a lot but was a terrible fighter.
@@drizzo4669 yeah didn't notice the typo till you pointed it out. Gonna disagree with you on the terrible fighter part. As you don't survive five thousand years without knowing how to fight.
@nicholasmandigo1390 he said himself, after his time as one of the 4 horsemen, he mostly hid. He blended in and hid for much of that time.
5000 years old. Ancient
@@drizzo4669he was a great fighter. Tough Kalas to a draw after 200 years without combat. He killed Solar a amcient immortal. He waxed King easily. He was out of practices when introduced but he was one of the best by series end. Duncan himself said Methos could take Kronor man. Pay attention
I hope in the highlander reboot we might see the character of methos he's my favorite unfortunately his character never was in the forefront all that much 😀😄🥰😍🙂☺️🤩
According to the story line, Methos wanted to go unnoticed.
It’s crazy to think how powerful methos woulda been if he didn’t take a few thousand years sabbatical
What are you talking about he was only out of the game for 200 years?
Unstoppable. He fights dirty and just holds back short of using ranged weapons. I could probably see him using a sword like Slan Quince that had a crossbow bolt in the hilt for emergencies.
Sticks and stones
I wonder how much stronger Methos got after those few wins since he was rusty
Rusty... he hadnt taken a head in 200 years, so since 1790. Im sure swordfighting changed a lot since he last killed someone... after 5000+ years of doing it to the point that he was just known as the Horseman of Death.
In 2021 the gathering would be have to happen in deep jungle/desert/tundra regions. Throngs of people everywhere.
Maybe Antartica?
Methos could beat Duncan and anyone, but he never had that killer instinct. Even as a 4 horseman.
(even IF The Kurgan preferred burning out over fading away...!)
Though I utterly LOATHE the film, check out Methos in Highlander the source - more than a little of His Pale Rider aspect appears... and it is SCARY! Easily the most complex character in ALL the lore...
@@Sidragrosm Yea, sadly I saw that movie. Methos was still the best actor in it.
No, he couldn’t. Methos would’ve been easily defeated by any of the high tier immortals from the 1990s.
Even if he held back against Duncan, he sure as hell wasn’t gonna hold back against Kalas. Methos wasn’t on their level.
Apparently my Uncle had him as a Doctor, no idea if true or not but I believe the actor is now in the medical field
That is true. As of September 2020, he is an Anesthesiologist at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles.
@@nicholasward5770 My Uncle made a Methos joke
He gave the commencement speech to his graduating class for medical school - its on UA-cam I saw it a few days ago. He left school to act when he was young and finally got back.
He was actually trained as a Doctor before he got into acting.
@@TKinfinity01 yup he went back to it
Of all the immortals you could've chosen to be your profile, Nicholas Ward?? 😂😅😂
I liked his character too. I never saw the episode where he 'died'. I remember him having a minor role in one of the X-Men movies. I guess he's making a lot more money now as an MD!

We live violent lives McCloud
Cylus swinging that battle-axe at him must have been a little scary hehe
Why are the streets always deserted in the fight scenes?
I mean... if I saw two men pull out swords and charge at each other I'd find somewhere else to be.
They chose deserted places to fight specifically not to be caught.
" no one has ever known we were among you, until now "
Always a STEAM PIPE!
Damn it why do they always go with the myth that longswords are heavy lumbering pieces of crap?
I don't know if they all are heavy suckers. But I remember the first time I tried picking up a claymore. Let's just say I couldn't. LOL
I’ve never gotten in a single sword fight with a friend. I really haven’t lived I suppose.

@@nicholasward5770 yes thank's ☺️😊😀😄😚
At the fight starting at 7:27, towards the end, doesn't Methos fighting style resemble that of Kalas? Hunched over a bit? Or is it just me?
Methos thing is that he was super good at adapting.
What would you think if you were walking along and saw two dudes sword fighting? 😂
Maybe they should finish the serious with him and that pharaoh
Methos en la obra original se suicida.
Which season and episode is this? Did Methos just decide to go bad or did he lose his memory or something?
In one of the later seasons, Methos took a dark quickening turning him into a savage killer. Dark quickening's suppress the original personality.

Why would you cut out the quickenings? That's the best part
Nah. When you get older, it's just a special effect.

8:18 Is this a technique? I‘ve never seen anyone holding a sword like that?!
It's a short sword technique usually for close quarter fight in tight spaces popularized by the Zatoichi blind swordsman movies.
What about Canwolf?
Smaller targets are harder to kill or inflict damage. That's why he twisted his body up.
I have taken fencing. You turn your body sideways to reduce your target area. Hunching over exposes your back and neck, and reduces your mobility.
No talking just let it out
Because nobody knows you
But I do !
wouldve been cool to have a highlander video game series kinda like vampire the mascarade...they were going to release a game the same time endgame came out but the reviews were bad for the game

TV series is better than the movies, but how did he come back in the last movie? I have not seen the entire tv series. I could not catch them all.
@@316AutosMethos didn't die in the Source either. And even uf ge did its not canon just like the animated series, Anime, and Highlander II
Wasnt Methos a Priest?
No, this was Darius, the former Ostrogothic warrior who wisened up.
Who wound up killing Methos?
Nobody
No one. Duncan killing Methos was a ridiculous 'wonderful life' stories at the end of the series where Duncan is shown what would happen if he was never born.
So he could never come close to Duncan or to Kronos, how did he last so long? He obviously was more than enough for a few small timers, though.
He's cunning and was one of the watcher, meaning he knew which immortal lives where and can easlily avoid them.
Because his favorite technique was to avoid the fights altogether and when someone challenged him, he would simply leave, as he did with Morgan Walker. When he absolutely had to fight against a skilled opponent, he would cheat with an extra weapon if necessary and use any dirty trick he could come up with.
@@proximashining776 Which, of course, isn't cheating at all.

Duncan says to Methos after they killed the horsemen that Methos could have killed Kronos and asked him why he did not. Methos said he was his brother and he could not be his judge. Methos was very very good.

The saddest thing is to see Methos betray Silas.
I still can't believe that he sacrificed himself for Duncan in Highlander the source so Duncan can go and kill the guardian and save Kate .
