  • On September 15th, 2018, the Danish Railway Museum presented a working replica of Denmark's first locomotive ODIN from 1846.
The original ODIN was built by Sharp Brothers in Manchester for the opening of the country's first railway line between Copenhagen and Roskilde. It was scrapped in 1876 after being rebuilt several times.
No drawings or pictures exist of the original locomotive, so new drawings have had to be drafted after extensive investigative work by British experts and other historians.
Work on the replica began i 2005 and now in 2018 it is completed and could be presented to the public at the museum.

It has inside cylinders (visible under the front buffer beam) as was common in the 1840s.

Warum hat keiner beim Herausfahren oder bei der Präsentation auf der Drehscheibe applaudiert? 😞
Why did no one applaud when pulling out or at the presentation on the turntable?
Hvorfor bifaldt ingen, når de trækker ud eller ved præsentationen på pladespilleren?
