I can’t believe after owning Berninas for 20 years that I never knew how to properly add the walking foot seam guide until watching this video. Thank you so much!
I have watched several videos on this foot. Yours is by far the best video out there. You tell what all the parts are for and show how to put it on the machine. Great job!
Thank you so much! I watched other videos about this foot and got nowhere near as much out of it, in fact I did it all wrong and the manual that comes with this foot is totally useless. Feeling enlightened now.
Oh, my Bernina dealer in Germany told me I could not use the walking foot I had bought for my 152dressmaker on my 2020 480 Bernina. And the one you show here looks so similar that I finallly tried to old foot on the new machine and it walked just fine…
Hi great video, just a quick question, can we use the walking foot instead of the blindstitch foot #5? the walking foot has 3 type of attachements. I have a bernina 1008. Is it worth me investing in the blind stitch foot or will the walking foot suffice? Thanks so much.
A #5 blind stitch foot is used for blind hemming and has an obstruction at the center needle to give lift to the blind stitching. This task is not recommended for a walking foot with the central guide sole. The central guide sole on a walking foot is not meant for voice hemming, it is for topstitching (bindings, waistbands, etc). The 1008 comes with a bound hem snap on foot. The number is stamped on the actual metal foot.
I am hoping you can help me. I just purchased a walking foot. It was working fine until the fork kept coming off the needle clamp. I don't think the feed dogs on the walking foot are working correctly. Would you be able to help me troubleshoot the issue?
I am seeing binding with walking foot and it keeps skipping stitches, I believe due to thickness of multiple fabric layers plus batting. How can I fix this?

Can you explain how the movement of the needle is related to the movement of the fabric? Because the stitch length and direction of the feed has nothing to do with the movement of the needle. So if this device would feed the upper layer of the fabric it would be a mess. It's just a gimmick and can't be compared to real upper feed.
This walking foot has been tried and true for years. If you want basic engineering instruction and physics advice on this product, our recommendation would be to reach out to BERNINA international as we sell the product, we are not the designers.
@@ToddGreenwich That's why I said to disengage the bottom feed. Then the walking foot transports the fabric on its own. It doesn't, believe me. It;s just a gimmick. Needle movement has nothing to do with transport. So a device driven by the needle movement shouldn't be called walking foot because it implies transportation of the fabric. And it doesn't. I'm a sewing machine technician btw.
