    @TheAllboutwin A sand bag is very good for kickboxing training. A heavy bag is anything over 100lbs.

  • @9mizzle
    @9mizzle 12 років тому +1

    @TheAllboutwin Yes, Sand bag is a good for training, although you should work your way up to it by starting on a lighter bag. Conditioning takes a long time, years or kicking and blocking.

    @Svedingo In Muay Thai you dont have to necessarily have to use the middle of the shin. You can use the bone right above the ankle, its still part of the shin bone

    ... Tom Levar breaks 3 at once ... and does the singles being held at head height by only one end of the bat ! ... I have old footage I need to rip off a VHS tape so I can post it on you tube ... the most amazing kicks you will ever see ! ...

    If they wanted to compare it to a baseball they should put the bat in a vice wrap some padding around it and have him kick it where the ball strikes. I am confident he will still snap it and the comparison will be a little better.

  • @Plataoplomo12
    @Plataoplomo12 13 років тому

    @pcigroot watch the full video then you will understand why he is kicking thru the thinnest part. they are comparing it to when a baseball player breaks his bat how much force it takes for a baseball player to break his bat which came in at 740 so they wanted to find a sport which will deliver just as much power but using the leg.

    I saw a karate expert kick through 2 bats at the same time. Its either on fight quest or the human weapon I forgot which one though.

    @hup123456 14 років тому

    @30adam30 nah, u wrong, If u play baseball, u know that, no matter where the ball hit, the force will penetrate through out the bat with the same force and the skinny part will break if it has enough force to break it.

    @9mizzle Yes like rubber, but its compact making it tougher, It still hurts to kick it, And they dont train on baseball bats? and yes they do trees, but not the extremely tough trees,

    @9mizzle I think you need to get your facts straight, despite the fact that you may cause permaniant damage to your shin this method of hardning is still practist in many mauy thai camps and gyms. My father use to kick a metal pole with some cloth rapped around it to harden his shins.

  • @SekaiKatana
    @SekaiKatana 12 років тому

    @9mizzle But then again shotokan and muy thai practice toughing up the shins the medivel way, kicking hard things and letting the bones recover stronger. but i agree with u in all my taekwondo practice i only hit hard things for belt succession never before.

  • @nokmuay1970
    @nokmuay1970 12 років тому

    @9mizzle actually we do kick hard targets, typically you start with softer and move up. You do tougheing drills, such as coke bottles and dowl rolling and tapping. Then you move up to Very hard pacted heavy bags, and hard target impacts. before you call me a liar...Lived and fouoght in thailand for 3 months 5 seperate times. Im a national champion and certified ajarn.

    @lololilolalo ....the first people to live in the area were Khmer, the Tai people came later. The Banana tree's were still Roots oming out of the ground, thousands of years ago.
    The kicking a tree thing is still a myth. Ever heard of Brittle Bone?

    Seems cool, I'll go look it up. I want to be Muay Thai fighter myself and I see the devastation they can muster with their legs it's insane. He could most likely break through 2 bats, but i'm not sure.

  • @mennoace
    @mennoace 14 років тому

    @DriftKing781 True, but football- and soccerplayers don't spend every day of their life training to destroy people :P It's not even a fair matchup tbh lol, it's another kicking technique. A martial artist generally can't kick a soccerball across a soccerfield, because they don't kick it right and vice-versa ^^

    @9mizzle Lies. The origins of muay thai trainers never had equipment. They use to kick banana trees/or soft wood trees to train their shins, This does infact creat micro fractures as they said increases bone strength.

  • @albertllaphan

  • @lluismr97
    @lluismr97 11 років тому

    This guy has a very powerful kick, I'm sure i won't be able to do what he has done in my whole life. But they might have called a kyokushin fighter. They do "tameshiwari", which consists on breaking wooden planks, stone, or even baseball bats with your knuckles, legs... Just search on youtube "kyokushin tameshiwari baseball bat" and there is one video of a guy breaking two baseball bats at once

    Haha, I went to practiced at Mel's (White Tiger Gym) gym one day. He watch me kick for a while. I don't even know muay thai, just going along with my cousin. He was amazed how fast my baseline kick was. But anyway, I know world class muay thai boxers and they say don't waste your time kicking hard objects, because you won't win fight with it. Just practice enough where it won't hurt anymore. Mel is ok fighter.....He is no match for Bukaw or my friend Kai.

    have u ever kick banana trunk before? I agree, bat's harder than banana trunk but not density. if u wanna compare between those things, round up 3 bats together u will get the same strength of 1 banana trunk.

    The graphics of the kick is wrong... it is clear from the replays that he kicks it with the lower part of the leg, not the middle part.. (called ankle?, english is not my native language so don't make fun).

    @tthhoommaa300 what this sh*theads don't say is on what surface the power is spread. usually when you calculate power (w) in Newton (N), and for strikes it's always power/surface -> N/cm²
    So punch at 1800lbs depends if they only calculated by hitting full power with only one knuckle, thus reducing the surface where the power is spread.
