Nicely done, Ben. This song had a splendid combination of difficult parts that really sound easy and simple and flows beautifully. Christmas is Coming was brilliantly written with the feel that something great is about to happen. Aha Christmas!

thanks for the video! do you know what is the ride cymbal on the original track?

So I did a little research and I’m not quite sure to be honest. The original drummer was Jerry Granelli. There’s quite a few videos of his playing and in some of the videos he’s using a large 22”-24” unmarked cymbal for his ride. His left side cymbal is a smaller sabian and in one video he’s using zildjian hi hats. But some other videos shows a ride that looks similar to a zildjian hammered cymbal and then in his later years he had a dream cymbals endorsement. My guess would be either Sabian or Zildjian but it could very well just be an unknown brand cymbal.
