Love this video! The dogs are so like mine...barking and chatting and trying to get involved! You are so great with them...lovely to see. Super information of course too😂😂😂. A bit shocked by the pinch collar....I have never even seen one of those for sale. Glad you didnt recommend it!!
We bring our 1st Berner pup home next weekend, and I'm stumped on what size collar to start off with. Any recommendations on sizing to begin with. He will be 8 weeks old.
Linda Girard Personally the only use I have for a harness is for pulling, in draft and in tracking. The harness is designed to use the dogs shoulders which are for pulling, this is a draft breed. Collars are for walking and training, harnesses are for pulling. I use a Nordkyn harnesses for both tracking and draft.
Great question. I use one in my male puppy...but dont need one for my girl. I use a Halti and now also one I got in Lidl which has a lovely padded top with a fantastic soft/stretchy grab handle beside the loop for the lead. Both go on over the head so no trying to put legs through hoops which doesnt work with my lad😂😂
hey, i was wondering if bernese mountain dogs do good with prong collars, I have proper training with prong collars, its just that i read in a few places that bernese mountain dogs tend to be emotional, so would it be ok using one with him
No, it wouldn't be a collar to use with a Berner to train with. I would work with training appropriate leash manners on a martingale or limited slip collar. If you have a pulling issue on an adult dog, then with educated work a pinch could lend a little help if you have a relationship with the dog and trust between you and the dog. But I usually never recommend using one.

I'm having trouble finding a rolled nylon choke collar. Could you make a recommendation please? Thank you.
I would look on amazon, I don't have a specific recommendation.

I love the Mes Amis limited slip size medium collar for puppies. Mesamisonline.com
Do you use a harness? If so what brand do you prefer?

Thanks for your video, but Im wondering if slip lead can be used to walk the dog…
Yes, I use mine all the time. I do however have them wear a collar as well.
