nice video! In my normal pends build, i opted to play slightly less monsters in order to get more backrow removal in the form of mst and an ominegate with fists of the unrivaled tenyi. Though this can reduce your oppressive power slightly since youll be drawing more spells and traps, i found it worthy, especially the mst since getting hit by a torrential or getting a scale removed often results in just passing turn Still, i really like this deck! Im a fan of going 2nd strategies in general, and though Chad Turbo is quite stronger in that regard, normal pends are still great fun
Thanks! I took this build from the Boss Stage spreadsheet and made literally only one change to it lmao Removing one type of pend scales (high and low) for backrow removal seems like a great idea! I can't wait to test it later today!
@@DocConradYGO you can also play the tenyi field spell, which makes all your normal monsters unaffected by monster effects and lets you draw 2 whenever the opponent special summonz an effect monster while u control a normal. However it has the downside where your monsters no longer get boosted by defender since theyre unaffected, so its very optional
Great showcase, going into a meta tournament was not an easy trial run! As I've run a couple of normal monster focused decks in my time, I'll just list off five support cards that you or anyone trying an iteration of this deck might like to experiment with! With a pendulum deck of course it's always good to have as many pendulum monsters as possible, so it's a hard choice to include backrow, but here are some options. First to deal with torrential and other problem backrow: Fist of the Unrivaled Tenyi is a negate counter-trap that requires you to have a normal monster. You probably know about it, but you might not have heard of it's cousin: Champion's Vigilance requires a level 7 or higher normal monster in play, and can negate *and destroy*, unlike Fist. Flawless Perfection of the Tenyi, while we are on the topic of that archetype, offers excellent protection and card draw for a normal monster deck. Mausoleum of White might be for you if you like field spells, but feel that Tenyi's are too mainstream. It's a Foolish Burial every turn and then some. Faustian Bargain offers non-destruction removal and a special summon outside of the usual pendulum.
