  • In this captivating video, I embark on a remarkable 6-day journey, exploring some of the most pristine birding destinations in the southern regions of Norway. Joining me on this expedition are the enthusiastic minds of Nord University, alongside fellow students and experienced tutors participating in the BirdID field course. Our voyage leads us to the captivating landscapes of DOVRE, promising an adventure unlike any other.
    Throughout the course of our expedition, my lens is trained on an array of captivating bird species, capturing their essence through both photography and film. Among the incredible sightings are the majestic Ural Owl, the elegant Dotterel, the melodious Blue Throat, the elusive Great Snipe, the mighty Osprey, the agile Kestrel, the charming Wigeon, the dashing Pied Flycatcher, and the striking Red-Backed Shrike. Each species we encounter adds its unique brushstroke to the tapestry of Norwegian avian diversity.
    DOVRE stands out as a crown jewel in our adventure. Its enchanting landscapes provide a stage upon which these magnificent birds perform their natural symphony. Our collaboration with Nord University, the immersive BirdID field course, and the camaraderie of fellow participants amplify the joy of discovery and learning.
    Through the lens of my camera, I aim not only to document these mesmerizing creatures but also to celebrate their significance in the delicate balance of nature. By sharing this visual chronicle, I hope to kindle a flame of appreciation for the avian wonders that grace the skies and landscapes of Norway. This journey underscores the importance of preserving these habitats and the intricate ecosystems they support.
    Join me as we traverse the remarkable expanse of southern Norway, capturing moments of beauty, elegance, and the raw essence of untamed life.

    Great video, just a heads up- you accidentally labelled the little gulls, little bitterns. Also the bunting is labelled pine bunting is an ortolan bunting. It seems to be an issue with the language barrier as you have the correct scientific names.

      Thank you for your kind words! And thank you for pointing out the mistakes, these are as you suggest due to translation issues on my part. Unfortunatly its not possible to correct a video ones its uploaded to UA-cam. I have added a control routine so hopefully I will avoid mistakes like this in the future. Thanks again! 🤩👍

    Veldig bra gjort👍😀jeg er en nederlender som har bodd Norge i 10år. Jeg er også veldig glad i fugler og natur. Det var Valdres jeg bodde og 1 år i Oslo området. Jeg ble abbonert og ser fram til din neste video hils Ron, Amsterdam, Nederland.

      Takk Ron! Veldig hyggelig at du likte videoen! Og heldige du som har bodd i Valdres! Helt fantastisk område. Jeg legger ut en ny video hver 14. dag på lørdag. Den neste er enten fra Jærstrendene eller Lyseheiene (fjellene rundt Lysefjorden) - har ikke bestemt meg helt enda! Ha en veldig god dag. :-)

    Sad way to celebrate wildlife by man handling an owl "for science" 🥲

    • @frodeaardal
      @frodeaardal  Місяць тому

      @@d1m18 This project is the single reason for the re-establishmemt of this owl in this part of Norway. A formidable job through many years. All volunteers. The "science" part is tagging the owls and measuring the vitals to keep track of how the owls are doing.
