He looked like he was hitting on her . I guess you can’t really blame him - but he seems a bit smarmy and not someone I’d allow my near my daughters . That said, he’d at least researched her .

that word-connotation/association thing shes talking about with regard to the band's name is called dhvani in sanskrit poetics, basically the way brains organize themselves according to lexical-associative-affective sites of resonance (see Christopher Partridge- The Lyre of Orpheus, or for sanskrit stuff, Abhinavagupta (11th century)). I love Alvvays, wish them all the best, all ways. Molly's beautiful and talented, a great interview.

i think the closer it is to the mouth, the better s/n ratio and also the “warmer” the voice tends to sound. bit of a trade-off

I wouldn't call his way of speaking "whispering". However, he is speaking softly, which is good.
