They turned out beautifully! I'm diggin on that silver pot (I thought was a bowl). It's huge! I didn't get cucumbers this year, only 3 or 4. They should be delicious. Martha..😊
Yes, totally been a weird gardening year. Very wet and humid in may killed half the garden with fungus then the ridiculously dry heat finished most of it off in july. I really wish there was another option to preserve cucumbers besides just pickles. Wait a minute, I wonder if I can freeze tzatziki sauce? Bahahaha I was like uh threads. Then yall said it. Looking forward to the results on taste and consistency
I grow a lot of cucumbers and zucchini so I generally have quite a bit on hand... I'll save some for up to about a week (in a really cold fridge with a damp towel on top, unwashed and untrimmed). You are right that if you only grow a few plants then it's hard to save up enough for a huge batch to process at once...so maybe do several small batches or go in with a friend, you can them and give them some back canned...or you save your cukes and your friend saves his and then pool them together and you can and then save again pool together and the friend cans them the next time?...it's not always easy especially when they are a lot of work like Bread & Butter pickles, so many steps!
how did this method eventually come out ? I hope a suggestion does not anger you, but I saw a content creator come back after a few weeks/months and add to their orig vid showing results. Your vids are often watched years later and final results in same vid are nice. we can delete this comment if you want. If nesc you could add to the title "edited to show results at the end" perhaps a time code to jump to ?
hi Mike, I haven't tried them yet...I made these at my home in the US however I live out of the country for 4 months a year and wanted them to sit a while (a few months) before I tried them. I am totally open to suggestions all the time...when I do try them I'll do a video on it. I hear what you are saying about putting the results into the video, for me thought that doesn't always work...for example this video..I would have made it, edited it and then would need to save it for several months (and remember where it is and what I said in it) and then finish it. Just too much for so a long time period inbetween. You know I'm a prolific video creator, when I'm in garden season I make 3 vids a week and managing them alone is crazy for me. So again, I hear you but that won't work for me over the course of months. What I should really do is edit the original with adding the 'results" video into the next suggested video so someone can just click on it at the end of the video and the be taken to the results vid.
@@mikesfarmmikesfarm3977 if I edited and added to the original video youtube would consider it a new video and i'd lose the original views; UA-cam doesn't have a great system in place and I don't get a whole bunch of views but frankly I don't want to have to track all of that stuff and makes edits, I already spend a lot of time filming and editing. I appreciate your suggetion and will try to incorporate results in the original video if it suits my timeline. With the intelligent questions you ask, it's obvious that you have experience to offer, why not start posting some video's yourself? I know you like the gardening and cooking and even more, you could do well in UA-cam land.
@@mikesfarmmikesfarm3977 I literally only use my Android Samsung 7Edge (yup old old old) I have a GoPro Hero 5 (also very old) but I don't like it very much...i bet the new ones are better. Go with what you have I think you'll be successful! I'll sub for sure.
@@mikesfarmmikesfarm3977 I do a similar thing with green onions (scallions) from the grocery store...just put them in a vase of water (on your window sill or outside) cut the tops off and they will regrow. I think Teo is doing this in an interesting way but seems to me i'd rather eat the large onion and then grow some from seed for the tops...but different things work for different people. I 've actually used the same wicking set up before but I haven't hung it, that's a good idea too.

I love that!
If its going to be a few weeks saving up cukes or peppers or zucchini how do you temporarily store them ? Seems like too long for fridge ?
