Just in time for 11 months from now
i make "seasonal" stuff other than at specific times of the year...why not? if it sounds good, anytime can be a time to enjoy those special foods! yum-e!
I make and eat food when I feel like it.
I appreciate the receipes.
It's going to take me 11 months to perfect that Paplova anyway, so... right on time! 😂
😂
That's what I was thinking. 😂
I love that you not only demonstrate making recipes with excellent methods but ALSO give us the science behind it such as the one on egg whites today.
"Girl I got you. Have I ever steered you wr-- Don't answer that." HAHAHAHA!!
I absolutely LOST IT when Bridget said that! OMG LMAO
I love these ladies. They’re the best hosts of ATK!
Just when I thought I couldn't fall in love with Bridget any more... she goes and makes my favorite holiday drink 🥰
19:58 it's so good with bourbon👌🏻
I'm a Kiwi and in New Zealand we would make the Pavlova a bit differently. We wouldn't bring the egg up to temperature before baking it and most Pavs would be a little higher than the one here. Most have a flat top rather than a sunken top and the cream gets spread the whole way across rather than in the middle. The use of vinegar and cornflour (starch) is spot on. My favourite traditional topping is Kiwi Fruit and Strawberries with a Flake chocolate bar sprinkled on top. I think it's pretty cool to see a North American spin on our traditional NZ dessert and am tempted to try out this version with my Kiwi friends.
While I am sure the Eggnog made here is great, the packaged stuff that comes out around Thanksgiving & Christmas will always remain a guilty pleasure.
For those complaining that this is a holiday video and it should have been published last month...I hope you realize that there’s a pandemic going on which could have delayed production. Also their show airs on PBS before it’s posted on UA-cam!
Thank you! People don't seem to realize that this is a legitimate full-scale television show produced for America's Public Broadcasting Stations (PBS) as well as their affiliate channel Create TV. I'm just happy that they've started posting episodes as well as individual segments on UA-cam so that I can rewatch them at my leisure, especially when I'm writing down their recipes and following the product recommendation links. They're not going to post an episode until after it has aired on PBS, and this is from Season 20, Episode 1, and it originally aired on January 4, 2020. The final episode of Season 20, Episode 26, aired August 1, 2020. I think that they post the whole season at once on UA-cam after it has aired on PBS. Wikipedia has pages with episode listings for both America's Test Kitchen and Cook's Country. Recent seasons are available on Amazon Prime Video and the current season is available for viewing for free on their website.
Right?!?! For me it’s “hey I have a whole 11 months to practice these recipes!”
My family is both Australian and Kiwi…
As such I have eaten pavlova all my life and have eaten a lot of different types of pavlova cooked in a lot of various ways- including a variety of meringue flavours and even pavlova made by stacking three layers of meringue and pavlova using custard or curds instead of cream as the topping
You do not need to cook the meringue in the double boiler before baking in the oven.
A great Easter variety of pavlova- use brown caster sugar as well as white and bake the sugar in the oven until the white sugar gets a light brown colour - this will give a caramel flavour to the meringue. Mix a tablespoon of Dutch cocoa and a dash of rum to the cream and you have a caramel and chocolate pavlova- decorate with Easter eggs, orange slices & shaved chocolate for a decadent Easter treat.
Out on the road with Bridgette and Julia!
publishing holiday recipe videos in late January
EGGNOG YEAR ROUND!!!
HELL YEAH :)
🤜🏻👍🤛🏻♡♡♡
These two kids are just tremendous!
Thanks, guys...
I have made this before, Several times. This is a great dessert for presentation.
"Doesn't have a finish that'll dissolve in your drinks like some models we tested" Wow, just wow.
Finally! Missed you all on my screen
Thank for coming back!🥳
man I love you guys! you are great together!
Que buenísimo ponche lo voy hacer me gusto muchísimo 👍👍👍👍👋👋👋👋❤️❤️❤️🇪🇨
Since I started making my own eggnog I could never drink that stuff from the grocery store again. Mine is slightly thick, not too sweet and divine . I use cinnamon in mine with a small dusting of nutmeg. I use vanilla bean paste. It really is a wonderful recipe
I missed both of you so much!
All egg nog is awesome.
Love the new intro! Great job editors!
Agreed. Adds an extra touch of quality to proceedings.
I use pure vanilla from Mexico and it's only $5 per 7.35 ounce bottle.
Oh. You believe what the label says? I'm sure it doesn't contain any lead, mercury, asbestos or rat hairs.
@@bradleynoneofyourbizz5341 you're not smart
I love how she's smiling laughing during the taste test.
ATK, the eggnog, I’ll have to TRY thanks 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Love the timing! Discovered Eggnog + Maker’s Mark over the holidays and have been bummed that the (yummy) pre-made eggnog is (of course) no longer available post-holiday.
Hoping that this recipe will quench my January craving!
Delecious indeed
Love from India
Nigella Lawson LOVES to make Pavlova... We are just concerned about her making desserts w/ powder sugar in the kitchen (!)
I'll just say "hello" as Bridgette said at the end
Could you sub lemon juice for the vinegar?
I love the Oxo 1/4 cup measure she was recommending, but it has one disappointing aspect: if you wash it in the dishwasher, the paint will start to fade and peel off. I'm going to have to get a new one, and hand wash it (ugh).
We’ve had ours for years, and only wash it in the top rack, and the paint has not chipped. Check in with oxo, they might replace it.
I will totally make both of these recipes… The Pavlova and the eggnog. But I’m concerned with the eggnog looks way too easy to make and have on hand!
I've been looking for an ATK video about omlettes. Is there one already? If not, do one?
You a should have done this last month for the eggnog. You need to come out a almond eggnog recipe for next Christmas.
The ultimate alcohol for Egg Nog is Myers Jamaican dark rum bar none
Зачётно✌🏼
Julia's hair is so soft looking
Lol slamming that vanilla pudding in the test taste.... I don’t blame her!
This is a cooked meringue, is it a Swiss meringue? Or another?
My mouth instantly started watering watching this!
I guess it's a *pavlovian response.* 😋
Anytime is a good time for eggnog and booze i love getting drunk 😒😬
Beautiful dessert, but I hate meringue!
Eggnog? Mid January?? Uhh
It’s January 26th...which holiday?
HELL YEA THIS NOG IS THE @#$%!
mccormick's
Why are the people in the back not wearing masks? Was this filmed before March 2020?
yes these videos are all old
@Angel Bulldog There’s a lot to unpack here, and you clearly have no scientific background or knowledge of how diseases spread. Your anecdotal evidence as a nanny doesn’t stand up to tried-and-true scientific studies.
Viruses can spread through bodily fluids suspended in the air (i.e. saliva particles). This global domination theory is a load of conspiratorial nonsense. Also, you probably never got sick because you had a great immune system BECAUSE you were around germ-y children all the time and were able to build up immune responses to all sorts of bacteria and viruses. That is pretty common knowledge...
This originally aired in January of 2020 on PBS. So yes this was filmed before that.
Love the voiceover guy’s pronunciation of the word “eggnog”.
ehhhnawwww.... g.
That's a liquid custard only lol
this would have been more useful several weeks ago
Not true, now you have 11 months to perfect the Paplova and the Nog. 😂
Great weight loss, looks 20 years younger.
...seriously though...
MAKE YOUR OWN VANILLA EXTRACT.
Its really REALLY easy.
nice recipes just a little late
This is old, they haven't filmed in the test kitchen in 10 months...

FYI ATK HOSTS There is nothing wrong with store bought egg nog. STOP BEING SUCH SNOBBS. I LOVE EGG BOUGHT FRIM THE STORE
grow up
Damn I love this channel... It's the most american cooking show channel... Coz everyone's white... They are all who matter.... Look at those two textbook Karens making a recipe together
you're pathetic, kid. it doesn't matter what color anyone is, let alone a tv chef.
Oh Christmas in January what better time to bring up our Lord Jesus Christ.Let's turn to God Let's repent and ask for forgiveness and study God's word and thank Him for sending Jesus to destroy evil for once and all times Thank you God Shepherdschapelcom Theseasonorg explains the whole Bible God bless
