I'm kind of freaking out a little that the captain is playing something that I worked on for a good part of a year, a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
Captain you should research Apotheosis so that you can take full advantage of it for this. That's where the different tiers of armor, weapons, and tools comes from as well as the better enchanting and the gems you find. You want gems with high purity or even 100% purity gems, which are the best. Sigils of socketing add sockets to your armor for your gems, and you use a smithing table to add gems to your armor if there is an open slot
apotheosis is a phenomenal mod, often OP lmao, hopefully this modpack properly balances it, once you have the right gems and legendary gear you are basically unstoppable

That underwater battle tower DON'T GO IN IT I'd say it is harder than the ender dragon. You'll need full netherite legendary armour fully enchanted and completed ars nouveau. Ars has the highest damaging attacks. The tower gives depth dropper this causes you to sink in water if you have a weight higher than ten. Ars has a spell called dispel this removes all effects on you.
Ah man, Dawncraft? Captain, you are in for a ride! I believe in you! (Side note, I tried it and me and my farm animals kept getting eaten by lions, so, uh, yeah, have fun with the mobs!)
Oh btw, all fantasy mobs (Dragons, Griffins, etc.) are added by Simply Mobs - Not Ice and Fire if you ever want to look that one up. The wiki is marginally useful so take it with a grain of salt. An example: "Go to Guild Master for quests" *end of wiki section*... helpful right? JEI is your best friend (Utilized by Jade and Hexerei) - U - uses R - recipies when hovering over an item with your cursor. The spirit orbs are used in trading with a Goddess statue, like you would use Ancient Gems in Sun Guardian basically.
Ayo! Looks like you went for Dawncraft, amazing modpack for what I have seen. You are meant to play in third person indeed, because will make sense with combat, because if you don't use the combat of the modpack the default attack and block barely do something, you will be able to create very specific weapons for your playstyle or found around the world, the runes or gems can only be socketed in Weapons, Tools and Armor, the mobs are dangerous specially the Bosses you will encounter. Also you are meant to do quests and be a good person to be able to interact or trade with villagers. Good luck! break a leg! 🤣 I hope it turns out a series! Looking forward for more! So really neat thing for the 3rd person view is that you can adjust your camera position. By default it's the arrow keys and page up/page down for height. Then you can set a hotkey for swapping shoulders to make it really feel like a 3rd person adventure RPG
so from what im gathering from the first 4 minutes of this is that it takes a lot of inspiration from breath of the wild. as someone who's currently in a legend of zelda phase, i am hyped.
I LOVED the third person right shoulder. It’s so immersive. This is a series I will LOVE. I’ll watch every episode.It’s you talking to a stream with a large over arching story and cool structures. It has the chili feel. Love it.
Captain i suggest u main the guild master and the blacksmith quests the master guild gives u abilities for combat like dodge roll and such and the blacksmith makes u learn how to use anvil and other things also u need i think the guild master to use enchanting table so yeah if u dont wanna be the easiest pick for any enemy in the long run do that also u can make a bundle of emeralds (i think its 1 chest in the middle and 8 emeralds around it) to get the forgiveness of a village or any village
Hey Jordan! Your next series should be a playthrough of the Aether! They just updated the original Aether mod to 1.19.4 and it has all of the content/bosses and also has improvements like advancements and some other stuff!
I saw this pop up and thought, "That looks cool, I'll download it and try it." My random starting point was nothing like yours... I nearly got killed right off by a group of rats... Then while trying to find the closest village, I ended up walking into a Pillager camp... jumped off a cliff into the water and just barely got away. Finally made it to a village, though not the one on the map... I'm already stressed out! I'm looking forward to this series to see what to, and NOT to do...
I recommend checking out the Epic Knights mod to see the different weapon types available! You may thinking "but they don't have the randomized stats" which is true, but there is a reforging station that allows you to add stats to crafted weapons and reroll stats on already rolled weapons. It does require netherite to make BUT there are dungeons in the overworld that have netherite shards. Also, since there is a lot of long distance traveling in this mod, i recommend making a spellbook from ars nouveau and crafting the "leap" spell. : ) i Got you with the tips for this mod so i hope you do enjoy it!
Genuinely, if you enjoy this modpack youd probably enjoy breath of the wild, the game where the stamina system, koroks, and spirit orbs are from. you should play it, its the easiest and best zelda game so far

Apotheosis rarity briefly explained: White or normal looking is Common. Typically no bonuses on these. Green is Uncommon. These have low tier boosts, and usually not many, but often still useful. Blue is Rare. These usually have more and better bonuses, but in my experience its actually more often than not a mix of bonuses you do and don't want together, or a lot of rather useless ones. Orange is Mythic. These are unbreakable by default and have higher tier bonuses, and more of them. These I have mixed feelings on, as sometimes they're amazing, like a Netherite Pickaxe that mines in a 3x3 with faster mining speeds... And sometimes its a Wood Shovel that has reach and increased damage... There is supposed to be higher tiers as well, but I don't think the mod has them implemented yet, or at least every pack I've played with the mod in it hasn't had them implemented yet. This includes Godly and Legendary. You can craft your own gear with those tiers by breaking down unwanted gear into their materials and upgrading a piece with enough marerials.
If this mod has apotheosis, youll get quite op with enchants. Also the rarities are common, uncommon, rare, epic and mythic I believe, unless it was changed past 1.16.5
I can’t stress this enough but I was kinda on the fence for this modpack but having now seen that there is bloodborne in minecraft. I am supporting this 100%
I’m pretty sure if it’s purely based on soul games. Weight lowers your speed overall if you wear some heavy armor. Same with the heart and stamina. You go to specific structures in which you pay 4 of the stone thingies to add either to your health or stamina. Also the 3rd person makes the combat hecka more easy as you are gonna need a more wide view to see the combos and to know where to dodge (when you learn it)
I Love dawncraft! Im currently playing it as well. So excited to see it here as a series! 🥳 also! This mod comes pre-installed with complimentary shaders. It does lag a little, even for beefy computers but so worth it!
For epic fight, Different tools and weapons have different animation and attack types and properties! for the weapons atleast, the bottom right will have a visual when u enter combat mode.
I mean, I played this one really comfy cottage core witchcraft modpack recently, and you absolutely get over encumbered (eventually can't jump up one block heights) with too much junk in your pockets whether it is a "full" shulker box, or 3 of those 3x3 sacks from the Supplementaries mod, but that might not be the case here. I wouldn't know since I haven't actually played this one, but a bunch of the mods you've got crammed into this will make for a really epic experience if you do more than lightly dip your toes in each. Hexerei actually has a way to fly if you get into that. If I recognized the mod rightly, alternative weapons to swords will look sick in combat because your fighting style _is_ impacted by what you are wielding. I had the dumb luck in a completely different pack than the one I mentioned of spawning in a swamp, finding a Hexerei witch hut, and discovering (after some cheeky trapdoor combat to remove her) that she had the flying thing stored/hiding on top of a rafter in the hut basically within the first hour of playing. It was hilarious because I quickly became this unreachable flying thing able to shop around for nice biome to build in sooner than I planned. 😂
I don't know if he's figured it out or not yet since Im only 20 minutes in, but you can use your arrow keys to adjust the position of the camera in third person mode! That way you can zoom in or out and move it to either side of you and it is MUCH more enjoyable to play that way.

He even made all the tools already. It’s amazing how nerfed ars is with only three glyphs made unusable and really only two if you ignore summon mount. Still amazingly useful though.
Captain, don't build ANYTHING ion those docks -- even after you have mob capturing, waypoints, etc. The Cachalot whale WILL come reck anything wooden and the setting is hard-coded in Alex's Mobs.

While in F5 mode, you can use the arrow keys to move the camera to a position you prefer. That way you can actually use F5 like its a 3rd person rpg

Well spirit orbs are ONLY used for Heart containers or Stamina Vessels so not quite, they are a trading currency is my point

depends on the weapon i have a 70 dmg sword so no combat mode still oneshots most mobs

Definitely a more functional third person mode than vanilla imo... you can actually see what you're aiming at

The Church Doctors are Bloodborne enemies, and that game is played in third person so maybe that’s why it’s intended to be more played that way.
