Letter writing can be an extremely useful healing tool. I pray they all find the healing and peace they each need. The truth is we all have traumas. Trauma is trauma. We are all effected differently. I turned to drugs for over twenty years to cope with mine. I’m clean 8 months now.

If a friend or a classmate shows signs that they might harm themselves or others, please report this to a trusted teacher or guidance counselor. You could save their life.
And pray reporting it works. Remember that kid last year his parents got him a gun for christmas? The teacher did report it. The parents did not think much of it and then the kid killed 4 students.
@@TheBeautyAround my memory is going, did the teacher report it to OFFICIALS? People need to report to more than one person, and DEFINITELY more than just the personal parents!
@@22lyric She told the parents the day before the shooting that something disturbing was going on. The next day the teacher took him to the principal. The parents were called to pick him up. when they showed up they had meeting were they were told to take him and get him help and not return until he was given an assessment. They refused to take him with them. They left the school and before they made it back home the kid had already killed the students. He came out of the bathroom shooting. Nobody cared to checked the backpack. The school did not know about him being given a weapon by his parents. In this very unique case the parents are being charged. For their negligence and for leaving the state to not get arrested.
They could also show signs that they experienced enough pain and bullying in class that they'll want to kill everyone in school. Don't forget. These shooters may have had a reason to cause these actions. I know this because I've been bullied a lot. I was alone most of the time, even when I was involved. Yet, when I come home, it's like nothing ever happened. What's worse is when I argued with the people on a sports team when we played together, they treat me like a loser, a weakling, and a problem to everyone, even when I tried to stand up for myself and eventually lose my temper in the process. I also argued with the nerds since they said they were better than me and I would never do anything right. There were times where I wanted to shoot everyone and create an end of the world. There were other times to where I think they were right about me and I would try to commit suicide, stabbing and slapping myself several times. I also thought how my reputation that I created would fall since I was in other organizations and everyone would see me as a psychopath or violent criminal if I did do a school shooting. I tried so hard to prove everyone in school that I was worth something. After graduating, I vowed never to go back to those people ever again, especially the ones who gave me a lot of pain in the past. I thought of therapy before, but I knew they would probably make it worse by calling the cops on me or taking me to an asylum. I really don't trust the the therapy around either. At least I'm finally free from that torture and can move on from the past. I may have a lot of issues, but I know what it's like to deal with a lot of trauma.
@@TheBeautyAround I don’t think kids receiving guns for Christmas is really a common thing these days. And even if they did, a gun received on Christmas isn’t going to inspire a mentally sane person to go kill people.
A great movie that captures what survivors go through after a shooting is called "The Fallout." The anxiety, numbness, guilt, etc. that someone feels after going through something like this is unprecedented. It has been a whole 10 years since the Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting. I'm glad to see that these survivors are thriving through all the grief and depression they went through that changed their lives forever.
The sad thing is that they also had to deal with all of the conspiracy nutjobs who tried to claim that they were crisis actors. That certainly didn't help their mental health at all. I wish them nothing but the best going forward and hope that they can live the rest of their lives in peace.
I remember the Sandy Hook tragedy in 2012. I too, was in elementary school and the same age as those kids that had their lives taken away from them. My elementary school in Connecticut paid tribute to one child in particular, Catherine, that died. Our school had rebuilt our playground for her and her mother gave an impactful speech to us. I wasn't able to grasp the severity of the situation at the time and I thought it was cool that we had a new playground. It wasn't until I was put into a bad position myself that I realized how many beautiful kids died in Baby Kayli's song when I was in a homeless shelter.
Wow, inspiring and well said. It is so sad that a video like this is needed, but the truth is, it is needed even more now. I am one of the very lucky ones, in my high school, we had 1 attempt but thankfully their peer spoke up before it got to the point of a shooting. The adults and police took it seriously and stop it. I believe it is because of seeing all the shooting in the late 90's and 2000's that their peer spoke up, being brave to save lives. Please be brave to speak up and save the lives of your friends.
I remember when I was a senior in high school I was in history class and my teacher was talking about the sandy hook shooting and then I said “You know the guy that did that is a complete piece of s**t” and my teacher just looked at me and she said “Yes he is” It was one of the only times I didn’t get in trouble for saying a swear word in school RIP to all the children that were murdered in the sandy hook tragedy

God, 15-year-old me was listening to music more than my teachers in school. But then again, I live in the UK where we only have had 1 school shooting in 1996 before I was born and we did something about it. Sadly, most Americans are protecting their guns rather than their children's lives. That needs to change or there will be more tragedy
I would love to see all of these in a book and maybe have the money raise from the book go to helping out survivors or the sandy hook promise site, or any of the many other wonderful sites set up to help and gun violence
This is a pretty good idea; but what would be an appropriate title for the potential book? For example; Columbine survivor Crystal Woodman-Miller published a book about her experience on April 20th, 1999 that was titled "Columbine: Marked for Life." Even though Crystal was not physically injured she was left marked with a mental and emotional scar that she will carry with her for the rest of her life.
What are you talking about? You think children live in peace in countries which don't allow guns lol? You think children are not starved to death? shot to death? Abandoned? Not allowed to even speak freely? Seriously, educate yourself.
@@benjobanjo7475 In Australia we have strict gun laws. The last mass shooting was in 1996. America has dozens if not hundreds of school shootings a year. You educate yourself. Children should not have to go to school terrified of someone snapping and shooting up the place.

Aus is an entire continent which is also an island which only has 30million people. Also had an awfully draconian lockdown which was pretty disgusting to watch aswell. I think you need to educate yourself on history and world affairs and step out of this western bubble. The VAST majority of the world does not live in your reality. In the long run gun control has continuously gone bad and led to the biggest amount of death of humans. Democide is the leading cause of human death.
Why do they have to write dear future survivors this should not be normal ever and it’s scary knowing that my school could be next i could be the one reading these letters at some point and that’s terrifying i just hope i can have a normal senior year
I was 7 when Columbine happened. And it was, for a WHILE, the example of a school shooting. Then Virginia Tech happened when I was 14 in 2007 and THAT became the example. Then Sandy Hook when I was 20 in 2012. And then suddenly it wasn’t just in school. Aurora and Sandy happened in the SAME year. MGM VEGAS and Parkland BOTH happened in the same year. Suddenly it wasn’t 5 years apart or even 10 years apart. With Texas, it’s just proof that parents were ultimately okay with Sandy Hook. That they chose guns over children and mental health. And I’m someone who supports armed defense. Nobody wants to solve the issue. Just make it disappear. I’m numb. Nobody truly cares. If they did, parents would change. The COUNTRY would have changed. And this is why we feel such a sense of doom. The ones who CAN prevent these aren’t. And the children pay the price.
Imagine living through New Town, Conneticut then see the same type of school shooting almost identical happen again after a whole decade of gun rallies and talks to the congress and government....That is something not many around the world can even began to feel for, most government around the world at least either introduce measures that would instatly stopped something like that from happening if not pass a law so huge, something like this wont ever be something a criminal would want to commit. Example can be seen with Australia's Port Arthur massacre, a bill was introduced where automatic rifles would be banned from being owned by anyone in the country...
It's so saddening that they have to write "Dear future survivor" knowing that future school shootings are almost inevitable. Rest in peace to all the victims of these tragedies 💛

I remember going into my class room and I saw the news and I just couldn’t believe what I was seeing it just shocked me and it made me wanna cry for those kids and parents who lost their children and children who lost their friends.
I was only 11 when this tragedy took place. My entire 5th grade class watched an entire news segment on this tragedy. I thought to myself that if something like that were to ever happen to me- I knew in my heart I would of needed to stay strong to both my family and my friends. I know in my heart this sweet girl will heal- it just takes time. Today marks a dark day 10 years ago, Never forget Sandy Hook. May the innocent lives taken that day Rest In Peace 💔🙏🕊😔
I was only 14 or 15 when this happened but I remember going to school and everyone was talking about it scary place man.
I was 10 when sandy hook happened, now I'm 20. I remember watching the news on tv about sandy hook
I was like in Kindergarten
Last Monday's mass shooting at Michigan State led me back here. 3 people were killed and 5 people were wounded. One of the people who was wounded is now paralyzed from the chest down! ☹️
My heart is breaking. This is the saddest video I've ever come across. I'm so sorry for all of you that you had to go through this. You're amazingly strong! And it makes me soo angry that everyone knows that there'll be next ones
I find it disturbing that these survivors have to do this for future survivors of school shootings, there should be no future survivors or victims. so heartbreaking!
Letter writing can be an extremely useful healing tool. I pray they all find the healing and peace they each need.
The truth is we all have traumas. Trauma is trauma. We are all effected differently. I turned to drugs for over twenty years to cope with mine. I’m clean 8 months now.
i remember going into lockdown in my 6th grade english class and learning it was because children in sandy hook were actively getting gunned down. that drill just felt different, like the first time I truly understood why we did these drills.
This is sad. Anything that corrupts or destroys a person’s innocence and life forever especially an early elementary school students are the most evil in my honest opinion.
I can’t believe we are normalizing having to do this
Hey can you give me a chance work for you I Do Body Message,Personal Secretary , Personal Secretary I do work for you Alwayss
This has got to stop 😓💔
The letters are heartbreaking but uplifting
My heart goes out to all the survivors, victims, and their familes. And the person in this video that lost her sister to the Robb elementary school shooting. As an older sister myself, I can't imagine my little sister losing her life like this. Thankfully, I live in a safe community, however I'm still scared for my loved ones, and my school
This is absolutely beautiful, bittersweet, and well-written. Wow.
A great movie that captures what survivors go through after a shooting is called "The Fallout." The anxiety, numbness, guilt, etc. that someone feels after going through something like this is unprecedented. People think the only ones affected are the victims' families, but school shootings affect everyone. Everyone suffers, and it's horrible.
This tragedy happened when I was 3 (I’m 13) when the sandy hook shooting happened it’s so sad to hear all of this especially from an elementary school. These shootings only got more common, the most horrific shooting now might be the one in uvalde.
"you'll never be the same, but you'll learn to live with this..."
Oh it’s infuriating that these people got shot at SCHOOL… and that they are far from the last to have to go thru it. what has this world come to? 🥺
It's about time we take the parents/guardians of these monsters accountable.
And Alex Jones. Is his money keeping him out of prison?
Incredible stories of survival.
So beautiful and so very sad at the same time especially since these things continue to happen
The fact that they need to write letters to FUTURE survivors is heartbreaking. Why anything changing?
Emilie Parker was truly an angel
That broke my heart!💔
Writing these letters knowing it’s going to happen again
Sadly!
How do you/we prevent it???
@@prancer1803 I would say mental health support
@@theafamily8693 or restrict gun laws.

im no longer in school, but every time my brother goes. i get so scared. he's only five. what is that happens to him too? we need to stop this violence against children who did nothing but live and learn.
ill pray for your brother's safety and as well for the others who go to his school. he has god watching over him. spend time with your brother as much as possible. stay strong!! we all need to comfort eachother to help things like this stop!

Living in Colorado and being surrounded by gun violence all around, it’s unfortunate the amount of loss we as a country have endured.
I was in kindergarten when this happened, I don’t remember it being on the news but I feel for everybody that was involved in it.
I remember when I was a senior in high school
I was in history class and my teacher was talking about the sandy hook shooting and then I said
“You know the guy that did that is a complete piece of s**t” and my teacher just looked at me and she said
“Yes he is”
It was one of the only times I didn’t get in trouble for saying a swear word in school
RIP to all the children that were murdered in the sandy hook tragedy
This!
@@CherryBlossomBlyue what’s this?
I remember Oxford I held my nephews and nieces a little bit closer. I’m lucky enough to attend a college that’s less than 10 minutes from their respective schools if there is an emergency I can be there in seconds.
I don't think there is a single student or teacher out there who isn't afraid that these letters might one day be for them.
As a survivor, thank you all. ❤
Thank you survivors. We stand with you in the fight. Rest in peace to all those lost in gun violence ❤
Been happening from these stories since 1997 what else do people have to see to make a change. The states should be shaking their heads especially with this wow
Is there an organization that we can donate to so we can support families that lost loved ones in these tragic events?
So powerful
This is very sad. American gun culture is a tragic excepionalism..
What's the correlation with American gun culture and the sandy hook shooting?
@@PonyBoy1776 are you serious? This stuff (school shootings) doesn't happen in other Western countries, even countries were citizens are allowed to own firearms. It is literally the unique culture around firearms that makes the USA the only country that struggles with this. Literally only USA.
@@michalovesanimeYes it does. I can give you a list of school shootings from around the world. And that's not anything to do with guns anyway. if people WANTED TO they could drive cars into school kids of stab them to death. USA has had guns and schools around for centuries without this problem. And there are MANY nations with much higher shooting rates then the USA. Banning guns does not save life or stop anything.
@@michalovesanime gun culture is not to blame here. Why are you blaming basically millions of firearm owners over the acts of scumbags? Blame the individuals and not the culture as a whole. These scum act on their own
I couldn't finish the video. Be safe this Holidays people
So sad what those kids who survived will be traumatized by this event is something they will never forget.
As a parent of a graduating Senior I can’t help but think about those babies and that they should be graduating too.
Dude that’s was so heartbreaking to watch 😭😭😭
Heart breaking
I was in 5th grade when the loud speaker at my school went off and they let us know what happened at sandy hook we held a moment of silence some students even cried.. I went to school in Long Island New York at the time, we all felt these kids pain without really FEELING IT.
I remember being in college when Columbine happened. It was unfathomable at the time and felt like a one-off tragedy. Who would have thought it would become a trend that we have to see over and over again.
Seeing that sweet Angel ... 189 shootings at schools around the US since Sandy Hook that have resulted in at least one fatality.
What are we doing wrong America?
Wow 10 years since sandy
I work in a middle school and this is my greatest fear.
Most of your lives , after those events , I guess that people used to tell you " I am so sorry for what you've been through.. " and I think that that is what they keep telling you but are those " sorry " going to earase all those traumatic events? I don't think so but to be honest as someone who didn't and hoping to never go through this , I don't really know what else to say .
You are not victims , you survived through pain and sorrow . And I hope , that you'll keep surviving .
I want you to know that a lot of people are supporting you .
Life will never be the same but you'll go through it .
I'm sending my deepest condoleances , love , prayers to you'll .

i was 5 when sandy hook happened. now i’m a school shooting survivor. this country has let these kids die in vain.
I remember so vividly watching the news about Sandy Hook happening and sitting there in utter shock. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years.
I cried like a baby newborn baby;*(
Got to keep the line going.
I'm so sorry that you had your childhood or adolescence and therefore innocence, stolen from you and were forced to grow up too soon.
So many tears
God, 15-year-old me was listening to music more than my teachers in school. But then again, I live in the UK where we only have had 1 school shooting in 1996 before I was born and we did something about it. Sadly, most Americans are protecting their guns rather than their children's lives. That needs to change or there will be more tragedy
I would love to see all of these in a book and maybe have the money raise from the book go to helping out survivors or the sandy hook promise site, or any of the many other wonderful sites set up to help and gun violence
Wow. This is a great idea.
This is a pretty good idea; but what would be an appropriate title for the potential book? For example; Columbine survivor Crystal Woodman-Miller published a book about her experience on April 20th, 1999 that was titled "Columbine: Marked for Life." Even though Crystal was not physically injured she was left marked with a mental and emotional scar that she will carry with her for the rest of her life.
everything happens for a reason and sometimes its the bad things too stay strong and positive!
It happened to take your guns so warlords run your neighborhoods
We can stop this!!! This should not be a norm

It’s truly a sad statement of our times when GUNS have more rights over our children’s lives and they are forced into trying to uplift others 😢
What does that mean?

What are you talking about? You think children live in peace in countries which don't allow guns lol? You think children are not starved to death? shot to death? Abandoned? Not allowed to even speak freely? Seriously, educate yourself.
@@benjobanjo7475 In Australia we have strict gun laws. The last mass shooting was in 1996. America has dozens if not hundreds of school shootings a year. You educate yourself. Children should not have to go to school terrified of someone snapping and shooting up the place.
@@maxfr142 See how you prove my point. You needed to use EXTREME cherry picking of the entire world to find an example...I don't.

Beautiful!
