SUMMARY
This Surah identifies two different ways of life and explains the contrast between their ultimate ends and results. The first way is of the one who spends his wealth, adopts God-consciousness and piety, and acknowledges the good as good. The second way is of the one who is a miser, lacks care for God's pleasure or displeasure, and repudiates what is good and right. It is stated that these two modes of action, which are clearly opposite to each other, cannot be equal and alike in respect of their results. Just as they are divergent in their nature, so are they divergent in their results.

2. Wannahaari izaa tajalla.
3. Wamaa khalaqaz zakara wal unthaa.
4. Inna sa’yakum lashattaa.
5. Fa ammaa man a’taa wattaqaa.
6. Wa saddaqa bil husnaa.
7. Fashanu yassiruhoo lilyusraa.
8. Wa ammaa man bakhila wastaghnaa.
9. Wa kazzaba bil husnaa.
10. Fashanu yassiruhoo lil’usraa.
11. Wamaa yughnee ‘anhu maaluhooo izaa taraddaa.
12. Inna ‘alainaa lal hudaa.
13. Wa inna lanaa lal Aakhirata wal oolaa.
14. Fa anzartukum naaran talallaa.
15. Laa yaslaahaaa illal ashqaa.
16. Allazee kazzaba wa tawallaa.
17. Wasa yujannnabuhal atqaa.
18. Allazee yu’tee maa lahoo yatazakkaa.
19. Wa maa li ahadin ‘indahoo min ni’matin tujzaaa
20. Il lab tighaaa’a wajhi rabbihil a ‘laa.
21. Wala sawfa yardaa.
