    There are things in life that are absolutely unforgivable and people who are just undeserving of redemption.

    I'm seeing a lot of comments saying that CJ should not have forgiven her mother so easily but I don't think they understand that forgiveness was more for CJ than it was for Gloria. It was for her to get past the anger that she had in her heart for her mom and to see her mom actually working to better herself she can't take back the past the best thing she could do is work to make things right in the present and the future. And it couldn't have been easy for Gloria on her part the hardest part about recovery is carrying all the guilt of the things that you did to the people around you.

    • @Disneyfan82
      @Disneyfan82 Місяць тому +4

      Until you know what it's like to be a victim of child neglect and abuse, you should not guilt trip those victims into forgiving unrepentant monsters and make them feel like shit for having a right in not wanting to forgive them. CJ forgave because it was her choice to do so, not because she was forced to. Forgiveness is a choice, not a demand. Just because her mother shows up out of the blue and expects to be forgiven is not how it works in real life if they were the worst narcissistic good for nothing that threw their parenting away for their own selfish grief and pleasure. Whether someone wants to forgive or not, that's their own choice and business, nobody else's.

    • @Gundam4
      @Gundam4 Місяць тому +1

      @Disneyfan82 you're missing my point, but I'm not surprised you must carry a lot of anger with you. Forgiveness is for yourself, not for the person who hurt you to let go of the pain that was caused. You're right. Unrepentant people don't deserve forgiveness, Gloria was remorseful and looking repentant. That's the difference. Hanging on to that anger will only continue to slow you down I don't know what went on in your life, but you eventually got to move past it somehow.

      @@Gundam4 Ever seen child abuse movies like "Mommie Dearest, Precious, When She Was Bad, or Bastard Out of Carolina"? There are some things you may learn to forgive, but never forget. And some things you never get over. Every child deserves parents, but not every parent deserves children.

    • @natashapeters4323

      If forgiveness feels right in the heart of the one who was abused and if it can be tempered with the vigilance and ability to set boundaries so that similar abuse cannot happen again (never forgetting), then said forgiveness will often help heal the heart of the one who was abused. Repentance on the part of the abuser may or may not be a factor.
      It is also important though for the abuser to truly understand that giving an apology does not erase what was done. The human who was hurt may never be able to find forgiveness in their heart and that is just as valid as being able to forgive while never forgetting.
      Dogs often will forgive over and over again. On the other hand, I know from working in the veterinary field that even with dogs sometimes the emotional damage that has been done is more than they can recover from.

    Your addiction isn't an excuse! My mom was an addict and she still loved my brother and I. Yes, she left us at times. In and out of jail. But she NEVER treated us like Gloria did to her own daughter. Never told me that my shitty boyfriend treating me the way he did was my fault.

    Sober for 9 months isnt enough for a selfish heartless inheritance stealer whose never gonna be forgiven or ever called Mom. But i can forgive her for losing her husband and never showing her deep feelings towards CJ. If CJ was my daughter I'd protect her and provide for her and be the only person who would love to be called Dad. I promise to God i will become a husband to a completely healthy and sane woman and a father to 3 children.

      Try talking to my father without hearing him going on about forcing baptism on his adult son. He hated the idea of me getting baptized in a catholic church and wants me to get baptized in his judgmental manner as a Christian church minister. Never will I ever allow myself to force religion on my children the way my father did. Ever since he became very judgmental and ruined I don't know how many birthdays I don't ever want to count, he became the shell of a man. Even rejected his relationship with my godfather because of his lifestyle. He claims that people of that lifestyle are going to Hell when it is people like my father who are unaware of what being a judgmental person could lead to: a lonely life without anyone loving you ever again.
