    I think you got the plus and XL mixed up. I have the XL and it is 4 feet high. I have also noticed that many leafy greens and herbs do better with half strength feeding. Tomatoes take more nutrients once they get bigger and begin fruiting. I have grown some big things in a bounty and maxed out the light height so many times, so there is no such thing as not big enough. It really depends on the variety of plants. Bush beans, no problem, pole beans, big problem. Cucumber gets really big. Roma tomatoes again get really big, even as a bush variety. Maybe try bigger plants and I'm sure you will begin maxing out the light height. Good luck.

    • @HomegrownFloridaZ9a
      @HomegrownFloridaZ9a  Рік тому +3

      You are correct. I actually have the Plus. I got them confused. I started reducing my feedings and using cal mag and that really helped my plants. Im going to give tomatoes another shot. The ones they sent were super small and productive but they had issues and I think it had to do with airflow. Maybe trying some patio styles would help and im sure the extra height would help in that instance. How many tomato plants do you grow on each side? I did 4 but not sure if that was the right amount.

      @@HomegrownFloridaZ9a I literally just got mine so I haven't done anything big yet. I'm growing a few seedlings for outside. I did two romas in a bounty and it was very crowded. I could see four working but might be a little tight, might get some spill over too, lol. I am currently having a spider mite and fungus gnat issue so I need to get everything out and start over. So hopefully once I get everything in the garden over the next month I can get something going for real.

    Hi! I am really new to hydroponics and trying to learn more so please bear with me! I currently have the iDOO hydroponic system from amazon and I'm looking to find a system to transfer my plants into. I realized I need a taller system because (really dumb mistake on my part, I know) I planted tomato and pepper and they're growing really fast. The tomato is already 10 inches tall and the light on mine only goes up to 12 inches. Do you think this would be a good option to purchase and transfer my plants? I am also wanting to expand my garden anyways and am extremely obsessive with checking on them/nutrients/pH/etc. and writing everything down/even making time lapse videos hahahah so the smart technology aspect is also appealing. Sorry for the long message, this video was fantastic and I am looking forward to watching more of your content. Thank you very much!

    • @HomegrownFloridaZ9a
      @HomegrownFloridaZ9a  Рік тому +2

      Hi Miranda. Yes, this system is very tall but it all depends on the variety you are growing. If you picked a patio or bush variety you will be perfect with this one but if you grew traditional varieties, I don’t know of any system inside that could handle the size of those. My outside tomatoes can get over 7 feet tall so nothing like that would work in a hydroponic system. I hope that helps. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

      I AM HERE TO TELL YOU HONEY I HAVE 4 BOUNTY ELITE GARDENS & HAVE HAD ZERO PROBLEMS WITH GROWTH HEIGHT WHEN IT COMES TO ALL THE LETTUCES & CHERRY TOMATOES.. I AM GROWING A CUCUMBER RT NOW STILL NO PROBLEM AS OF YET. IT HAS SEVERAL CUKES ON IT..+ FLOWERS & HAVE NO PROBLEM... BASIL MUST BE HARVESTED OFTEN TO KEEP IT JUST UNDER THE GROW LIGHT.. I CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS LADY ONLY GOT 3 CUTTINGS OFF of HER LETTUCES... I KEPT A LOG OF MY VERY 1st AERO GARDEN, WHICH WAS ALL LETTUCE, 9 PODS, & I HARVESTED 535🎉 EDIBLE LEAVES OF LETTUCE, & THAT WAS NOT COUNTING LEAVES I DISCARDED BECAUSE OF SOME MINOR REASON... THIS WAS FROM SEP 07, 2022 - DEC 18, 2022, WHICH IT WAS STILL SLOWLY PRODUCING LETTUCE BUT I WAS ANXIOUS TO START SOMETHING NEW, 😊 SO I DISCARDED IT ALL & STARTED NEW PODS :
      2 CHERRY TOMATOES WITH A JALAPENÕ PEPPER PLANT, THAT HAD 2 STEMS GROWING OUT OF THE SAME POD.. A FRIEND TOLD ME THAT CAN HINDER THE GROWTH, & TO CUT THE WEAKEST ONE OUT. I DID & PROPOGATED IT, UNTIL THE ROOTS WERE STRONG & I PLACED IT IN A CLEAN AERO GARDEN GROW SPONGE, THEN THE PLASTIC GROW BASKET & PLACED IT INTO THE AG, AND AS IT GREW, NOW IT HAS LOADS OF PEPPERS 🌶 ON IT TOO 😂. I HAVE MADE PEPPER POPPERS 2 OR 3 TIMES, ALONG WITH FREEZING SOME FOR SALSA, & GIVING MANY AWAY TO FRIENDS THAT CAME TO VISIT. YOU CAN PROPOGATE A LOT OF THE PLANTS OR USE YOUR OWN SEEDS, BUT I THINK USING AERO GARDENS SPONGES & GROW BASKETS & PLANT FOOD ARE THE BEST TO USE. AG ALSO NOW GIVES YOU WHAT I CALL "BLACK OUT" CAPS FOR EMPTY HOLES, BECAUSE WITH HUGE BULKY PLANTS YOU DO NOT WANT TO PLANT TOO TIGHT, SO LEAVING EVENLY SPACES THEY HAVE ROOM TO GROW.. I THINK THEY CALL THE HOLE COVERS, "SPACERS". THAT'S TO PREVENT ALGAE GROWING FROM LIGHT PENETRATING IN THROUGH THE HOLES. I HAVE BABY GREEN BELL PEPPERS GROWING THAT I STARTED FROM A😢 SINGLE SEED FROM A SEED PKT I BOUGHT. THE BIGGEST PEPPER IS HALF SZ OF A GOLF BALL RT NOW. ❤ ALSO I HAVE MUCH BASIL, MINT, DILL, SAGE, AS WELL AS PETUNIAS GROWING. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!! IT IS SO THERAPEUTIC. SO UNLESS YOU ARE TRYING TO RAISE WATERMELONS OR SOMETHING INSANELY BIG -😢 THE BOUNTY ELITE HAS ALL THE SAME DISPLAY FEATURES THE FARM XL HAS... THE ONLY DIFF I SEE IS THE BOUNTY ELITE GOES UP 24" MAX HEIGHT WITH 50 WATT OF SPECTRUM LIGHT AND CAN BE SET ON ANY TABLE, DESK, OR SHELVING UNIT, AS LONG AS THE CORD WILL REACH. THE FARM XL GOES UP 36" MAX HEIGHT WITH 2 LEVELS OF LIGHT, AND 60 WATT LIGHTING & MUST BE PLACED ON THE FLOOR... IT'S DEFINITELY MUCH EASIER TO CLEAN THE BOUNTY ELITE & SANITIZE BETWEEN😢 PLANTINGS... I SANITIZE MY AG's 1 X A MONTH. MY SON REMOVES THE DECK WITH ALL THE PLANTS STILL INTACT & SUPPORTED BY THE TRELLIS, WHILE I EMPTY THE WATER,
      REMOVE ANY DEBRIS AROUND THE FLOAT IN REAR, BLEACH THE INSIDE & RINSE THOROUGHLY.. THEN I TRIM SUPER LONG ROOTS BEING CAREFUL NOT TO CUT THE PUMP WIRE THAT IS USUALLY COVERED BY SUCH THICK ROOTS IN THE BACK.... ADD FRESH WATER, PLANT FOOD, AND REPLACE DECK WITH PLANTS. KEEP ON GROWING. 😂
      💞💕
