Biman have improved tremendously since the introduction of the B787. Their previous service to Manchester with DC-10s was disasterous, often operating off-schedule due to technical reasons. It is now very reliable and as you observed, a pretty good product.
I have flown them on their old B777 from London to Sylhet and returned to the UK on an A310 from Sylhet to Dhaka swapping to a 777 from Dhaka to London back in 2015. It was an overall pleasant experience and friendly staff. The fruit juice served at boarding on the domestic segment was delicious!

Nice to see you finally made a TR on Biman. I hope you enjoyed the flight. Issues with blankets are pretty normal, maybe that's on demand. I saw the same thing in Turkish Airlines economy class while flying from Istanbul to Chicago, they didn't provide any blankets. I don't know whether you have flown to one of their Dash 8 but if not then do so next time. Also suggesting to make TR on the following services of Biman 1) Dhaka to Kathmandu or vice versa (VV) 2) Dhaka to Singapore or Kuala Lumpur or VV 3) Dhaka to any middle eastern destination or VV. Make sure you get a Boeing 777 here. 4) And offcourse the Toronto flight. Hope you will get an overall idea about Biman. Enjoy your upcoming journeys.
Great and honest review. Not that you should have had to, but did you not ask for a blanket? No alcohol service for beverages means Biman isn't trying to diversify its passenger base. Biman remains for Bangladeshi passengers with just a handful of other passengers onboard if any. But new aircrafts and mostly non-stop flights make Biman relatively attractive for mostly Bangladeshi passengers (no food or language issues). After some terrible management issues of the past, the airline is trying to turn a corner. But we have been disappointed many times before. I will be flying in one of Biman's 787-8s from Manchester to Dhaka (via the pit stop at Sylhet) in a few weeks' time. Note: A second hot meal service (breakfast or supper) in a 10 hour flight is fast disappearing amongst European and North American carriers. Biman must maintain its edge here. Lots of Biman food means lots of Biman passengers.
Also , do remember to check out my channel and my videos about airplanes as I am a big fan of them and do remember to subscribe to my channel and leave a like on my videos and comment
Biman has improved a lot since my last flight almost two decades ago. Great review, thanks for your time and effort. Dhaka airport experience is a disappointment though, hopefully that will change for better with the 3rd terminal opening next year.
We need more direct routes from Bangladesh to European countries like France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands and even Italy. At one point, there were routes from Dhaka to New York, Dhaka to Tokyo and even Dhaka to Athens. Doesn't have to be Biman operating those routes. It would be better if Dhaka gets airlines like Lufthansa, KLM, Qantas, Air France, ANA etc. I don't know why they discontinued those routes as they would help the country but quite a lot. Let's hope when HSIA T3 is fully operational, new routes come or continue the discontinued ones.
Interesting video. Although I do not see myself in that part of the world anytime soon, it is always a pleasure to see how these non-mainstream airlines operate. Keep up the good work.
Biman is a traditional full-service airline with a long history, long-haul service, a modern fleet, AND the national flag carrier of one of the world's most populous countries. So, I don't see why it's "non-mainstream". It might not be as famous as Lufthansa or Emirates, its service may be limited in the number of destinations, and its home base may be located in a largely underdeveloped country out of the itinerary of the majority of international tourists and businesspeople, but still, there's nothing out of the ordinary, marginal, or outlandish in Biman to place it out of the mainstream. Plus, as we saw in this video, its service may not be spectacular, but it's still better than what I've seen in recent Lufthansa reviews.
Love travelling via emirates to Bangladesh the only thing for me is with family don’t like stopping in Dhaka and then making a 6 hours car journey to sylhet which is why we just go for the biman London to sylhet.
Worth noting that their B787-9 business class has a 1-2-1 configuration. Biman also charge significantly more if you plan to get off at Sylhet especially since FlyDubai stopped their Dubai - Sylhet service back in 2019.
Bimans food was epic back in their dc 10 days. I remember their catering was so good they used to supply emirates and other top international airline. Their food has gone downhill big time. Still good but no where tge quality it once was. Bimans aervice has improved greatly ever since they aquired their new boeing 777 and 787 fleet.
I think that Bengali is the 8th most spoken language on Earth being the language of Bangladesh and West Bengal plus it's also spoken in some other states of India around that area.
It’s spoken in Bangladesh, West Bengal, Tripura, Lower Assam. It’s the 4th most spoken language in the world. After English, Mandarin, Hindi, Spanish. It’s definitely has 300+ million speakers.
Great video! As for feedback re this being filmed by Felix - I thought the footage he captured was just as good as we are used to :) the only thing I would say though, is at the beginning I found it somewhat confusing that Felix's footage was being narrated by David in the first person (e.g. "I ordered a vegetarian meal) when David wasn't actually there. Personally I'd find it a little clearer if David is narrating for him to use 3rd person "Felix ordered a vegetarian meal" etc. But that's only a minor issue - another excellent review as always!

Biman Bangladesh looks like an astoundingly good airline. That said, I love layovers. Probably I would choose any middle east airline just for the layover. Thanx for the video.
I think, on the LHR - DAC route GulfAir is the best option. As I tried most of the other available options where I found Gulf has a wide variety of positive add-ons.
Bangdesh Biman is giving a Very good service. I travelled 2 times in 2022 from Manchester to Sylhet Excellent customer service. I didn't like Dubai or Qatar airways.
Biman is going great on its Toronto-Dhaka route. Actually the best from North America to South Asia. This has been talked about by paxs and employees alike. Biman Bangladesh has set the standard 👏🏻 🇧🇩💯
For flying direct to Sylhet Biman now charges extortionate rates. Before you could travel for £600-£700 a few years ago, now a economy seat costs £1,240 - £1,450. They are always late, then get fined by Heathrow Airport as a result they pass it on to their passengers. Their prices are also extremely high because they got no competition. As a result a lot of people are not able to fly. So, now they charge business class prices for economy. Btw, someone usually comes around with blankets in the evening or some time after take-off, dont know why you didnt get one 😏 Not all the food is edible, specially the round tea-time fritter-like snacks which can give you stomach ache and make you run
I suggest you to visit with economy class. As we most of the viewers can only travel in economy class mostly.thank you for visiting Bangladesh you are always welcome to our homeland
I still think Biman has a competitive edge over other airlines in London - Dhaka route as this is a Direct flight (with stop - and no need to offboard) but for other airlines you will need to take transit which might take a longer time.
Thank you for featuring Biman in brutally honest segment.Felix is quite lucky since a huge number of passengers flying between LHR-ZYL are super unruly, loud and they try their very best to make the aircraft a junkyard, there were reports of vandalism by passengers on this route despite Biman's effort to give a better service compared to what it was literally 10 years back. Biman should include more contents especially western ones in their ife system since they are now flying YYZ and has plans to fly to JFK. For flights between LHR-DAC Gulf air certainly has an edge not only over Biman but also over Emirates (accept for the ICE)thanks to it's relatively modern product which Emirates T7s which fly to Dhaka doesn't offer. Looking forward to the opinion of yours regarding other Bangladeshi carriers.
Oh My Goodness me that was such an incredible video that take off from London Heathrow was amazing your Commentry was cool that's why we're love aviation!
Biman had a few issues regarding customer service and interior. but after watching this video has really changed my view. I wish FAA allows Biman to operate direct flight from New York to Dhaka.

I really appreciate the commented videos.
So much more comfortable than reading along all the time.
Hopefully Biman will be able to resume services to the US eventually!
Thank you to fly with BIMAN
I love it. I wish Felix would try the voice over next time
Thanks for flying with biman , sir😊
I’ve been waiting for this for ages Thankyou 🇧🇩
Btw, someone usually comes around with blankets in the evening or some time after take-off, dont know why you didnt get one 😏
Not all the food is edible, specially the round tea-time fritter-like snacks which can give you stomach ache and make you run
Finally in Bangladesh. Thanks and welcome!
The last time I flew to Sylhet was on a DC-10

Thnx a lot simply aviation
And lot's of love from Bangladeshi people.....
So once the flight arrives in Dacca, is there a separation between international arrivals from London and domestic passengers from Sylhet?
Yes. Separate doors for exit. Boarding passes need to be shown.
Dhaka not Dacca
@@topurahman4521 😂😂 thanks
That confuses me.
@@eacoincmubiru5894 Dacca is a very old spelling.
@@eacoincmubiru5894 Dacca is the anglican spelling of the local name Dhaka.
David, nice to see you are using aerolopa: amazing seating maps !!!
from Sylhet, Bangladesh ❤.
I love painting of Biman Bangladesh airlines!
THAN YOU! FINALLY A BIMAN REVIEW! THANKS A LOT GUYS!
Biman had a few issues regarding customer service and interior. but after watching this video has really changed my view. I wish FAA allows Biman to operate direct flight from New York to Dhaka.
By the way being a vegeterian you should avoid cake because cake is made out using eggs. Which i beilieve should non veg. Incase you are wondering eggs has life too
1:45 That's so true. Bangladeshis usually tend to pack up the whole contents of their refrigerator & fly it abroad & vice versa
The flights to Toronto are not nonstop. They operate them with a stopover in Istanbul (from what I remember reading last)
Yes. And now in both directions.
Correct. But it's just a fuel stop and you don't have to get off the plane.
@@rafizsadique4299 I know. But the stop still adds time to the total trip.
Just a technical stop
Josh Cahill travelling first class? 03:18 Now there's a surprise. 🙄
It's great to see Biman progress from the ex SQ DC10-30 in SQ interior colours, however if you really want to see the best DC10-30 take of check out Biman departing Manchester. Stunning and turn up the volume! Great report here and thank you as always!
Thank you for choosing Biman for your travel experience! We appreciate your support and hope that you continue to fly with Biman in the future. Safe travels, and we look forward to having you on board again soon! ✈😊 #FlyBiman
