FINALLY someone covered this topic in detail. THANK YOU! If you feel like expanding this video, how do shadow affect them? partial/full? building caused/tree caused shadow?

If you are in the direct center, it won't matter however you'll have to see where the true center is you are likely over the line on one side

On North side of map N+S bringing zero makes no sense if 2 North bring 36. Should it not be 18? Anyway, if base is in North and North facing panels still bring in 36, I'd call that good. All the other "double same direction facing" panels brought 40, but in the south only north facing panels brought 40. A lot of inconsistencies. Seems like the Sun revolves around the North side of the map instead of middle? We would need developer input. Also as I haven't put in the time to test things much, but I think that if the panel is not on the highest building block, the higher elements can block out sun, as sometimes even at midday north facing panels did not bring in much E on a helideck with sloped walls, but had to be elevated on a kind of solar "wing" and lifted above the other building elements. Not sure if this was only imagining, but it seemed that the panels needed to be on a flat without any walls or anything rising above them. Still I would say that North is a safe bet anywhere, getting more than 80% of the electricity, no matter where the base is located.

Yes, also I tinkered around with the different months in the game and it does infact change slightly from the middle of the map, but it isn't even worth correcting it each month with the change being almost unnoticeable.

That 0 is a counter not a pass through, thats why its green.

is it the best to both put them north on any time of the day?

Either north or south, depending what side of the map you are based on

this isnt standart and may change from server to server. on small maps sometimes sun is direct north and i learned it after almost halfway through my wipe. also it may change during bi weekly and monthly wipes. i had to re position mine on a 14day server. for example right now on rustoria eu small, best placement is north. even tho my base is located at the northernmost cliffs.

Take the map grids, divide by half for vertical grids, thats your line the sun follows... aka the equator.
