- We sat down for a chat with our friends at FluentPet for an in-depth conversation about all things Bunny related, from challenges in training to Bunny’s rise to TikTok stardom.
“The FluentPet tiles and button system was developed by Leo Trottier, a San Diego-based cognitive scientist, in close collaboration with the Canine AAC Test Pilots, a group of people based in the US, Canada, Sweden, Netherlands, Australia, and beyond, who have made incredible progress teaching their dogs to use sound buttons to express themselves.”

Just a note to myself: 11:50 to teach 'ouch'. Probably the most important thing to teach anyone that's non-verbal, letting us know they're in pain. Thank you Alexis.
So important to give all dogs, but especially working breeds like sheep dogs and poodles, a mental challenge. My favorite part of this is watching her think and figure things out.
When Bunny alerted to a stranger, that flipped me out. Amazing to see all of the things dogs really notice!
Animals have a much wider range of senses of experiencing the world than humans ever inherently will. "Cats and dogs both have many muscles in their ears that allow for swiveling, which helps them hone into faraway sounds. Dogs can hear very well- much better than humans- but cats can hear better. On average, dogs can hear frequencies up to about 45,000 hertz. Cats, however, can hear an impressive 100,000." The average cat has a slightly sharper sense of smell than the average dog. Just because humans don't understand doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Humans should be learning the language of animals, not forcing animals to speak human languages.
Alexis. You ARE a scientist regardless of your schooling, qualification, or background. Being a scientist carries no requisite of a degree. Infants are scientists.
You are at the forefront of a new discovery. The expansion of communication with humankind's best friend is revolutionary.
I hope you continue producing videos. I am enthralled with Bunny. Thank you.
i want to see the board in reverse. the board that consists of barking sounds and let bunny teach mom how to bark.
I honestly don't believe it would be a matter of reverse engineering on the concept of speech pathology with buttons modeled dog-to-human for us to learn how to speak dog with barks, yips, and farther body language. Though in experimental phases this would be interesting from it points of abstraction. In clear noted directions it's far easier to observe your dog communicate naturally with other dogs and farther observes ques and signals in the home that are immediately associative to situation and mood. For example, when you have any dog prone to the "zoomies" in my experience the common start is forepaws down, ears perked, possible bark or sharp exhale, rear in the air, largely followed by that iconic burst of speed and energy. This in the dog world says. "Play" "chase". At least in my experience with my dog. She's very receptive to me the spontaneity of chasing after she does this. Followed with play fights like a dog also does. I've learned a lot of canine behavior through this method. There ARE better means I think. But I really recommend if you want to speak dog. Observe, study, train, and test to reach deeper conclusions. Of course ethically.
it would be a bark thru!
This is why I got buttons because mu dog gets irrated that I don't understand her barks. I really wished I did maybe dogs are smarter than us
@@daniellestevens2068 About being "smarter" i think us humans developed such a powerful and useful language, and we get so used to it, that we forget a lot of awareness about non verbal or inter species communication, that we have, as other mammals have, but we don't use it much to the point it's very hard for us to use!
Also I think we are a good % of dog's life, so they go the extra mile in efforts to communicate with us. Those humans who have the dog but also human friends and relatives and a job, put a lower % of efforts in understanding their dog than say an older woman who lost relatives and friends, doesn't work any more and almost all of her life is the relationship with her dog. Such woman devotes a consistent % of her life and efforts to communicating with dog and achieves better results and i think can understand her dog as much her dog can understand her.
Also there's a sort of prejudice that an animal wouldn't be capable of much as to understand us, and each result we get is amplified as an extreme achievement, when in fact interspecies communication is just a reality nothing out if the ordinary, our anchestors living with lots of animals in the house even sleeping together for warmth surely knew very better. And on the contrary we very well understand our pet needs and read their body language or barks but tend to diminish our perception of effectiveness at the task because it's not usually mediated by words and we usually associate "understanding" with "expressing the concept with words".
I think we are capable of understanding dog pretty much the same the dog can understand us, given same efforts and dedition. I think usually the dog puts by far more efforts that the human, because the humn is a wider % of life for the dog than the dog is for the human, therefore achieves better results, and looks "smarter".
But you may also be right, over the past millennia dog and cats lived with human and the ones with better understanding of humans and capacity of making themselves understandable by humans had competitive advantage, so pets became over millennia very smart - and smarter than us - at communucating with us.
I have spent my life developing relationships with animals. Ii started with my first puppy when I was 10 years old, and now at 52 I am working on communicating with geese. My work is just something I've done as a hobby all my life. Mostly I worked with horses using soft touches to communicate. But horses are easy because they are so empathic and respond to me in ways that are almost seem telepathic. Your work with bunny has blown my mind! I cant wait to watch all your videos and learn more. Thank you for what you are doing.
I watch other channels teaching animals to talk with buttons & you guys have, hands down, the best way. Not including food reward/ buttons is huge, the way you speak the words she needs slowly & your own use of the buttons to explain concepts to Bunny is incredible! 💙
I'm not using a "treat" button. There are many other useful words to start with. At first I'm rewarding using scent. In life, dogs start with "nose" first.🐾💞
The most interesting thing that Bunny did was, lacking a word for "splinter" called a piece of wood in her paw a "stranger."
I know I caught that I thought that was amazing of her to use that particular wordto indicate that something is here in my paw that does not belongstranger would indicate someone or something that does not belong
a foreign object! A strange object, Bunny is so incredible.
@@lmlafromboys I didn't even think about it that way. I thought she might have done it because she knew "splinter" and what it meant, but didn't have a button for it, so went for a word that sounded similar. But that wouldn't make much sense.
That's how the immune system works.
She uses it for anything that doesn't belong, whether that be a person or an object. It's really smart, actually! She's also made up her own phrases for things-there's a particular video I remember where she started saying "poop play" and eventually Alexis figured out that she was talking about passing gas.
I love this because it's really opening the eyes of more people to the fact that animals have cognition and emotion far beyond what they had imagined.
Wish I could hit “like” button over and over!
Koko the gorilla didn’t have the word for a ring, so she coined “finger bracelet” with ASL.Which I thought was pretty brilliant. Seems like Bunny is heading in a similar direction, with the word “stranger,” for the splinter in her paw.
Great analogy
43:16 A laughing button! Hahahaha. Or a "Yay!" button. I love that you have an "Oops" button (Stranger in house reference).
I liked when she said that Bunny sets the terms of the learning. That really helped me grasp how this flows. I'm so amazed by this channel. This is a huge game changer for folks who want to better communicate with their fur kids. ❤ loving this info!
It makes sense that Bunny isn't really "treat motivated" to learn. She's a mix of 2 working breeds so something that challenges her would be motivation enough. Kind of similar to working dogs who don't need motivation to do agility. They just love to work and that's satisfying enough.
I would think learning to communicate this way with an emotional process would work best rather than an analytical process since dogs are really motivated by emotions. The joy in understanding one another must be very exciting for both the dog and the owner, making it more desirable to learn more!
Most amazing thing to me is that she can put two words together to describe animals and birds!
This interview was fantastic! Very well done - highly informative!
I found out about Bunny - UA-cam recommended! It's awesome that this was an interview to 'meet' Bunny's mom IAlexis).
I imagined Alexis was some super sciency nerd - how cool to learn she's just a real chill artist chick, introverted, and that she was skeptical about this whole idea of cognitive training - and she's just 'figuring it out as she goes' - doing wonders!!
Alexis, thank you for your guidance with Bunny. My little guy is a poodle/schnauzer mix. He seems to have a very strong intuitive way to communicate with me. I've ordered the buttons and can't wait to see if our communication grows stronger. I love the way you let Bunny set the terms.
No one asked about numeracy. What happens when you teach Bunny the numbers 1, 2 and 3 and ask her "how many?" about objects?
Interesting idea. I am pretty sure, from interacting with my own dogs, that they can keep track of numbers of things for a while.. and then there is a ceiling... My dog decided to give the treats I gave him to his greedy sister. After he had given her about 11 of them, he kept one. At some point he had judged that she had 'enough' and should be satisfied.
@@maryandersondearing3053 aww haha smart dog.
@@maryandersondearing3053 it seems your dog is more compassionate than you are; judging that his sister required extra treats, not that she was being greedy _winks_
@@ValeriePallaoro Oh, she was greedy. The poor girl had been stray in Seattle for at least months, and had had raised at least one litter of puppies on her own. She had been fighting for every scrap of garbage she could find. When resources stopped being scarce, it took her a while not to be intense about guarding them. (We feed her in her crate for a long time, because that was HER space and no cat was allowed in there) She eventually felt comfortable that her food wouldn't be stolen from her, but she never learned to limit her eating and we had to limit her someone in order to keep her weight from getting too unhealthy.
@@maryandersondearing3053 Even more so; greed has connotations of selfishness and unacceptable morality; while your dog actually believes (by giving treats unconditionally) that she needed them not through self interest but because her need was greater than his. Pretty damn compassionate. And I agree, I used to be crazy cat lady in our street and the times I watched animals being compassionate to each other is something that is under-reported and should get more of an airing. I believe animals can count, it's a no brainer. They have to live in a world where numbers of things matter. We just don't ask them to.
I noticed a couple years ago that my bulldog was answering yes/no questions. She does a long, slow blink for yes and does a wide-eyed stare for no. She taught herself to do this! I wish I could take credit for it but it's all her! My smart, loving, beautiful girl!
I have a bulldog too he is so smart too, he is just turned 7. Ever since he was a puppy he has watched every little move I make. I’m thinking about trying this as he knows so many words already because he has always been so focused.❤️🐶
I would be curious about trying to teach LOUD with a stomp-like button press & loud voice and QUIET with an easy button press & soft voice. Hopefully then she may learn to express emotion with her conversion. JUST LOVE DOGS!
Brilliant interview. As I'm in the UK, when I am it was an hour long I nearly didn't watch as its late here now, but I am so glad I did. You have a special relationship with Bunny and it shone through. I think that what you are doing is amazing. Please post often, coz I love to hear what new word she's going to say next!! xxx 💖🐾🐶🤗🥰
My favorite Dog in the world (other than my own two). She is amazing, smart, because and silly with a big heart. X♡ 🐾❤🐾❤🐾❤
bunny is an absolute unit
That was one of the most interesting interactions ive seen her have with mum.
Very clever.
That moment of epiphany when bunny uses poop and potty as an excuse to go outside, she's deliberaty doing that on purpose , she knows what she's saying , dogs are far more intelligent than we give them credit for , she's definitely not saying that our of context
Alexis, you and Bunny are such an inspiration!! I have always had and loved dogs - currently have four. The concept of communicating with our dogs in another form is so interesting!
You and Bunny have motivated me to buy buttons and begin trying them with my dogs! The idea of further strengthening our bond and allowing them to express themselves in another way is fascinating! I have always considered our relationship to be very close - mine are already “super cuddles,” so maybe they would love to learn as Bunny is doing. Thank you so much for seeing you and Bunny communicate in another form!! Bunny is absolutely adorable!! If she lived with me I am sure I would drive her crazy hugging her!!!
First of all, let me acknowledge how delectably cute Bunny is and how beach zoomies are as adorable as snow zoomies. Bunny is amazing but I’m not surprised that she or any other dog can learn to talk this way. I’ve been living with dogs for most of my adult life and hours of interaction and observation tell me that if they had the right physiological structures, we’d already be conversing with them.
Bunny has already refuted your hypothesis with a great deal of demonstrated and repeated evidence to the contrary: she has learned to express herself verbally, given the structures and training to produce audible language. Bunny has produced some unexpected ideas and enquires, some of which are excellent reasons for human beings to admit that we may be underestimating her and other animals.
We got buttons yesterday. We made the first button outside. She already knows the word outside so she picked that up right away.
Mine pressed the button and knows what outside means but I can’t figure out how to get her to press it when she wants to go out. Lol
22:46 When Bunny uses the buttons better than Dad. Haha
Such great questions and wonderfully informative answers 🏆😊
32:03 How and WHY did you teach her hippo?
ohmygod yes; how did that happne?
I was wondering, too. 🤣 Perhaps, she has a toy hippo? But obviously there was good use for it. 👍
I’m fairly certain she has a hippo toy.
I can not get enough of Bunny!!!🐰
Hello! I really love bunny❤ i'm glad that she actually show whats in her mind😥🤧 kinda cute for me😍✨
-From Philippines❤
The concept of time was also one of my burning questions.
The saying “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” only applies to humans
You and bunny are an amazing and delightful pair! Thank you for sharing your experience with us…
Great interview! I came across a few of your videos in my stream, and I was hooked! I love your videos, they brightem my day! And now I have been thinking about adding that facet. Especially since I have a little dog that uses whines for so many things. He comes up to me and a whine can be"hungry", "walk", "cuddle" "potty". Just to get the money to start! Thanks for bringing this to my attention!!!
Im really curious, if you have another dog, can Bunny "teaches" it?
If she can do it, this is amazing!!! :o
same
I have had cats and dogs that have taught each other things, reinforcing behaviour in each other. It’s strongest when you see a parent teaching their kittens or pups. Since teaching and learning are as natural an interaction between living things as feeding, grooming, caring, playing, protecting, etc., I imagine language button usage would come naturally and enhance all these actions.
For me, it’s not a question of IF they teach each other to use the buttons, but HOW and WHY. ☺️
For example, would the buttons be used to talk with familiar beings like family? Or with strangers, could it be just with humans, or new animal friends too? I think I saw Bunny talking with her cats using the buttons, but I’m not sure. Completely fascinating! ☺️✨
And now they have Otter and we see that he has learned a lot of the board just by watching Bunny
In 5 years... Bunny for President! 🤘😝🥰
This answered every questions I had
Just saw this for the fist time. Excellent interview- the questions were intelligent & interesting. I really enjoyed it very much & think you did a great job.
I want to see the talking dogs together.
Bunny!! 💕
To the 👎🏾's out there.
I felt 'strange' about doing this at first but, dogs want to please us. It makes them very happy. People will
humanize dogs & that's not good for your dog.
I just makes us feel better.💞🐾💞🐾
I just ordered our first set of buttons off Amazon. If we end up expanding I'll switch to the nice FluentPet sets.
Our beagle is struggling with ear infections so ouch and figuring out how to get her to show us where she's in pain is high on my list to teach her.
Also: outside, settle, and walk.
I plan to give my new cats buttons for food and water, etc, so they can be obvious about needs hopefully. Cause our last cats would sit by the full bowls and stare at us like "why don't you read my mind hoomun?" 😂
I love this q n a!
This was an awesome interview. Great job on both sides. I would have loved to have seen some of that wearable art though. A few more minutes and that could have been achieved. :-)
"Bunny smell Dad upstairs" xD
I have heard Poodles are smart and Bunny proves it.
I just found out about people using this, simply amazing! What is the website to get an augmented communication device for pets? I am studying ABA and would love to get one, I am ridiculously excited to use this.
i first suspected that bunny learned "i love you" as meaning the physical exchange and demonstration rather than the feeling. Because in some video just after the declaration of love, physical contact comes. But i watched more videos and second tought myself and now i believe bunny got it right, when i saw "i love you" used as a part of a conversation only, in conclusion of a talk, to confirm affection verbally only (not physically) with the joy/oxitocyn exchange following.
Why so ooooo many adverts :(
glad im not the only one
@@Tiera_H :o genius
@@DevinJuularValentine Works on the phone too xD Just dont get too close to the ad marks
I was wondering if Bunny could learn to read a numerical clock, lets say with the hour arrow painted a red instead of black, to help her understand morning/afternoon/evening better.
i think studies say that dogs can mostly see shades of blue and yellow, like the most common form of colourblindness in humans (although I could be wrong/the study i ready could be wrong) - but i think that idea would be great to see!
I would be tempted to associate the time of day with the sun or dark.
I think a 24 hour clock would make more sense for an animal
Is it possible to teach an adult dog to communicate with the buttons?
this was great!!
Okay okay it's fascinating that Bunny knows the concept of dissembling by saying she has to go poop when she really just wants outside not on the level of Congress lying but just a little white lie
I don't think animals know the concept of lying. They just know what gets them what they want. She might not understand the difference. Both words would get her outside. If she knows the difference, it could be because poop gets a faster response or is less likely to get told not now than outside is.
Not on the level of Congress 😂🤣😂
What an awesome interview! 😮
My dog actually is trained in Spanish for commands but speaks English. He doesnt need buttons for words. He talks. His diction is even good. Very vocal. He also does binary decision making to tell me what he wants. Buttons might increase his spoken vocabulary but he understand everything
Yeah right... I'm sure your dog writes poetry as well. Why do people like you leave ridiculous comments like this?
@@mfin-dave unfortunately, malcontents have to write negative comments like yours to try to diminish the happiness and talents of others. Too bad for you.
@@pinschrunner what I see is a moron making false claims. Why? That was my question, are you seeking attention? You Do know that an infamous serial killer thought his neighbors dog was talking to him also right? Does your therapist know how well your dog speaks?
Why "Scritches" instead of 'scratches'?
Does Bunny have a 'bath' button?
Can you teach buttons by using established button meanings? Like "I love you" and "Love you Bunny"
is bunny reading the english? Have you re-arranged the buttons to find out???? I find within language study is the "use it or lose it" principle - does Bunny forget the words or meanings over time and or with less use??
Does this handicap the dog from their natural 'speaking' abilities? For countless centuries dogs have communicated to us just fine. Does she get breaks, so she can recall what looking, pointing, wagging, posturing, snarling, smiling, barking accomplish? Bunny without this board would just stare at you all day?
Days of week is challenging to teach. But definetively doable, i'm sure dog and cats have a sense of time, including week and hours, and a precise one. There was a friend of mine who worked as pool instructor and had a different time schedule for each day of week. Her dog was left with my friend's mum while my friend was at pool. The dog would move from living room to just behind the entrance door to welcome my friend 5 to 10 minutes prior to my friend arrival time, remembering the whole week time schedule. And no, it was not my friend's mum giving involuntary hints, because the dog could remember better than the mum (which was old) the schedule and it happened dog went to door first, then mum realizing "oh, it's already that time of the day?" or "oh, today must be wednesday, not tuesday as i was wrongly thinking"
My own cat i'm sure can tell it's sunday morning and anticipates a different routine vs work days from the very morning. At first i tough me and my wife giving out hints by our behaviour. But no, my cat is well aware right from wake up it's sunday and must have counted 6 days elapsed by herself.
😂 bunny learning to lie ‘poop mom’ bunny outside ‘not really! Woo hoo!! ‘😂
Where can a person get these buttons?
I joined this program.
How are your bettas gonna push the buttons?
Really, what sort of animal are you using?
@@ValeriePallaoro I have an Aussie lab pup! He's even got a UA-cam account, which needs updating.
Did the cat that passed on press the buttons to show she/he was in pain and pressed "bye" several times, and was euthanized? I thought I saw that. The outcry from that cat was so heartbreaking. ❤
Analytic languages like Chinese have little in the way of conjugated, inflected grammar or tenses, and should be much easier to learn than English. English is also analytic, but the tenses and conjugations make it more complicated. My cats understand many words in both languages. Animals learn whatever language they’re exposed to in life contexts. Nothing special about English! It’s probably a more difficult language to learn than many others.
I would very much like to see this with a pig. Ester the Wonder Pig would be amazing at this I bet. Cows and horses also have amazing memories, but maybe not interested in human communication.
Good questions from interviewer. Right?
Can you please ask Bunny about dog food?
ipad with bunch of words that she can choose would be nice.. call it ipaw
Wait, HER NAME'S NOT MOM???
Old dogs can definitely learn new tricks. Anyone who says otherwise is just trying to justify their own ignorance and general lack of desire to do anything(lazy).
Dear Alexis and Bunny
Hi from Melia Joy. For our pets. Time has come to make our pets indoor bathrooms.
They helped us evolve tremendously. Now I draw my team
to repay our best furry friends
Too expensive you say ?
Most towns and villages have flushable toilets
Many are like a sink where you squat n flush
as it should be
Amen
Yay or Nay ?
Alexis: wave in the mirror *without* saying "hi bunny" to see if she turns and comes to you.
by now she has definitely worked out what 'button' is
This tells me that animals think a lot like humans do you wouldn't Force someone to socialize sometimes people need their space and they don't want to talk I like to think that animals are the same way it would be wrong just to force bunny to do that she has her own wants and needs I'm surprised that she didn't roll her eyes when she was asked that question again I totally would have it's completely stupid to think that bunny does not have a will of her own
It's sooo interesting
I can't wait for a Neuralink like device so dogs can communicate without the use of buttons.
You mran telepathy 😂
While I love this and enjoy that Bunny is getting way new opportunities .. maybe instead of asking them to do all the changing, we change a little and try to understand them more?
@@ValeriePallaoro While I appreciate the sentiment, I don't think there's a single human being that can 100% effectively understand dogs/animals. Sure, some humans can understand animals better than others but allowing animals to better communicate with everyday humans can be a watershed moment for animal rights and relations with humans overall. Dogs and other animals can't communicate verbally in a way we can understand or use sign language (with the exception of primates like Koko the gorilla for example). It's like animals have locked-in syndrome and they're not able to express their thoughts and feelings in any meaningful way with humans. Koko and now Bunny are changing the way we think and feel about animals and I think that's a great thing.
Imagine how many frustrated pets are out there right now that try and communicate with their owners but get nowhere.
Even using buttons, look at the amount of dexterity needed to operate them and the limited number of buttons and speed in which they can be pressed. A Neuralink device will be able to streamline that process allowing animals to communicate with us at an almost instantaneous bandwidth anywhere and at any time. No need to haul around a giant set of buttons or being tied to the location of the buttons.
love you and your fam!
Bunny is brilliant 😁
CAT vs. DOG
Dogs answer the phone. Cat's let it roll to voice-mail.
facinating stuff
I have a cheerleader type song I sing for pooping.
L E T S P O O let's go Poop! L E T S P O O let's go poop! L E T S P O O! L E T S P O O! L E T S P O O! Let's go poop!
I have arm movements and everything. I only break it out when she's being stubborn, pretending like she's above pooping; it usually gets the desired result!
So, eventually do you see the entire house full of "Bunny Buttons?"
So your dog that's usually the mentality of a toddler is now a Tween. Lmao.
And each time, I think about those people who eat s dogs, cats.... And others
... also others, right. And more importantly: how we treat our "food" . Eventually, we must eat - and to be truthfull, we have no idea, what plants would have to say to us, if we were only able to understand.
Your name is kinda similar to mine haha
We should start an Alexis club!
I love everything about this; however, I was bothered by this interviewer who wasn’t really listening and engaging or reciprocating normal conversational dialogue in the video, too busy with the objective of just asking questions..just reading comments & I noticed especially when Bunny’s mom had a “???” facial reaction at 3:58 to the interviewer asking the same exact question that she literally just asked- in a different form bc she was just reading comments lmaoooo very annoying - anyway; GREAT JOB @ Bunny & mom!!!❤🎉
Alexis. Why do you always wear a hat covering your beautiful hair?
Is it possible Bunny knew a stranger shot the spike into her paw? Dogs can hear and see things we don't give them credit for. Probably a psycho followed them on their walk and used a dart gun to shoot the spike into her paw. There are people who have done this to my pets for years. 11:05 P.M. I can hear the stalker outside my apartment right now telling me they can't stand me. This woman has been following my family around, killing and hurting our pets for 50 years. She's killed at least ten of our cats, knocked over Tibby's birdcage and broke her birds eggs, knocked me off of horses ten times, shot my dog Bonnie in the neck with a shot gun, gave Susie Mcjunkin a concussion after knocking her off her horse, plus many many more episodes of cruelty to animals. She ripped a pregnant mouse's uterus out of the mouse and left it at the bottom of my stairs in 1995. If anyone has any clues, please call the police. I don't know who she is.
My dog is at the end of her life as I find this, and we are so close I always know what she wants and needs. I find myself wondering what she would tell me if she could. Watching Alexis and bunny has been eye opening and heart warming. For the sounds to add, I vote for a laughing button! My Macy would use that one often I think 😁
This is a great idea. Bunny has a smile already but se loves poop jokes and it would give her a way to share she is joking.
Or a happy 😃 or sad 😢 or tired 😴 or hungry 🤤

I recently lost my amazing best friend of 15 years, a half wolfhound, half Irish setter. He was super smart and very motivated to communicate with me. After watching Bunny it makes me wonder how much richer our friendship would have been had he been able to use this tool to interact with me.
@@tfox285 🌻🌻🌻❤️❤️❤️very sorry
My bully absolutely recognizes herself in the mirror. I know dogs "aren't supposed to" recognize themselves but she's knows it's her.
She also won't get up until someone says "Good morning Penelope" I knew she liked it when I said it but didn't know she wouldn't get up w/o it until she spent the nite@ my parent's. Mom called, said 'she won't get up. I've been in there 5 times and she won't get out of bed'
I asked if she said Good Morning, 'no...' I got a text about 15 seconds later "it worked"
That's my Princess!!! 😁
Watching Bunny is educational and heartwarming. We love watching Bunny’s progress.
37:00 syntax; good question; because you can see that Bunny's syntax is not the same as English. Not because there are not enough words and not because there's no grammar but because when she makes a sentence her syntax is different to English grammar.
I thing Bunny's grammar is more intuitive. Certainly more Bunny. (edit: after listening to the 'hmmm?' part of the conversation, turns out Bunny is Spanish)
That's exactly what I thought when her Mom said that!
As far as tenses, you can probably say “yesterday play” for the past tense “played” and “tomorrow play” for future play “will play.”
The problem is that you no longer can say that you actually played yesterday. Maybe add the words past, present and future?
Edit.: Now that I think about it more, maybe tenses are not necessary and she can just express time with adverbs of time
Yeah. I kinda cringed when she said "yesterday went park". A dog might understand play vs play-ed, cause its similar, but go and went are awful in this sense.
It was hard enough for me as a non native speaker, im will have hard time understanding it.
@@MazerTime not really because you are just dropping words that you would normally use. For example you would say "bunny and I went to the park yesterday" dropping all the unneeded words makes it become "went park yesterday". Played versus play might be too close together for the dog to differentiate. Also then it has to learn how to conjugate every verb. I can see where this would make it hard for a non-english speaker to understand because you aren't using proper grammar. But all a animal cares about is getting their needs met. They don't care if they are conforming to proper grammar
@@brendalg4 you dont get it at all. yesterday already give you the time. Past tense isnt needed.
Just say "yesterday go park", its MUCH more understandable to someone learning the language, as went is a new word, and go isnt.
