I can sort of relate... I was up on a disciplinary at work and there was a 50-50 chance of me being fired. I wasn't. I just carried on with my day afterwards and what a relief. It was also a Friday so I got the whole weekend to just chill and do sod all.

So many of the young gs are too proud to drop their egos or rep to put themselves first, but they need to see if their bredrin cares more about how you look than how you’re looking after your life, how the fuck can they care? Fam I hated wearing them baggy ass chequered prison boxers when I was on remand lol. Back when I was in you HAD TO get the grey tracky, Lowe the burgundy red ting lol. I got linked some brand new HMP jeans from a bredgrin in reception, had them for few weeks but a mardy screw clocked them in my pad when I wasn’t wearing them and took them back! Cus you couldnt have jeans when on remand! Man wanted to take them tings home!! Lol 😂😂

Funny how everyone's different. I remember being told I was being remanded and just laughing to myself. In the court cell, the sweatbox, reception, holding cell, on the wing. Just laughing. Couldn't believe it, but I had this stupid feeling of like, I'm up for the challenge and this is going to be an interesting experience; something I could write about one day. This makes me different from the people I grew up with, because now I'm interesting. Nope. It's just prison. It's not good. You are different from people you grew up with (maybe, unless they're in pen too), and it's not interesting. It's boring. I didn't cry until the day they took me back to court and I was let back out into the real world. Bawled my eyes out in the court basement, wanted to give the judge daps and take her for dinner to say thank you lmao.

When my son was in high school he was put in a program to guide kids who have behavioural issues, one of the activities they did was a day visit to prison to experience what it actually looks like and that scared him straight. The first comment he made about that visit when he came home was the smell, he said it smells really bad and everyone just looks so scary. That experience has stuck with him so deeply he's stayed out of trouble which I am so grateful for, I wonder if they still have that program going today because it may not work for everyone but it kept at least one kid from going through the prison system.
