appreciate you lou - nah he did alright. he sold the same night for $4k. but it did recently comp for $3050 so I still believe I made the right decision to pass. some don’t understand, but ive bought and sold 50,000 cards in the past 2 years - I might know what im doing.

he explains at the end of the video why he doesn't want that capital locked up into a big card... if you really think its ego then idk what to tell ya.
correct - also id argue if I had an ego in this situation, i’d buy that ohtani just to have it, even though the clearly better return on investment was the few thousand cheaper cards I ended up buying.

@@keane_that's one of the reasons why I don't sell in ebay and I'm just simply a buyer. I mainly only sell raw, graded, and wax on My Slabs...they're zero tolerance on non-payers. If the buyer doesn't pay within 24 hours, they get banned permanently. In turn, the seller has three business days after payment to ship and send required tracking info within your account in the website. If not...banned. Of course there are many folks who don't like that type of concept. But then again, you find out quickly who you know is serious about getting a deal done and the other ones who are strokers.

Keane I notice you buy alot of cards that been graded by top company such like PSA and Becket . Do you a buy cards from other companies such as SGC and arena club?
sure- i’m known around the bay area to buy any and everything. however, grading companies that are not psa, bgs or sgc must be valued accordingly when I make an offer

Great video. What do you use to comp cards? Is there an app you prefer or just 130 point?
I usually start with ebay colds, then 130point, then card ladder if its a tricky card that needs all 3
The Baseball season is around the corner and the hype.will be high...however on a Shohei card of that caliber if i dint have or at least know 3 potential buyers i wouldnt do it.

C'mon Keane, the "market" is what a card sells for regardless if it's at auction, best offer, card show or any exchange of money for any cards. Saying that a best offer sale isn't a true representation of the cards value is probably one of the craziest things I've ever heard. So that means when you sell to a single person that walks up to your table and pays tour price for a card or haggle you down a little, isn't a true representation for the value of that card? He's not actively competing with anyone else at that moment when he's offering you their "best offer" for your card. Same concept my man.
I don’t wanna stray too far from the point that: after comping / buying / and then selling over a million dollars in slabs & singles via auctions, if I always went by the latest ‘best offer accepted’ price on ebay, when the last 3 auctions went lower- i’d literally be out of business.

What did that Ohtani end up selling for? 4k?
An /30 went for $5,100 on January 18th. It was paid for as well
Yes that night he told me he sold it for 4k on Bay
@@keane_ I don’t blame you for not going higher on it at the time tho. Comps were all over and it looked like a 3-3.5k card max
So they paid $2600 and it ended up in a backyard comet for that has a floor of $3K, finesse 😅
