Thank you for such detailed review! I see you have both mini keyboards: rii i4 and rii x8. Which one would you recommend more? I love that rii i4 can be paired by bluetooth, however, rii x8 seems more ergonomic to type and such. Which one do you prefer and why? I mainly will use it for typing notes when in bed, revising slides and do practice questions (multiple choice format). Which one fits better with this criteria?
Number/symbol keys are too small. I would consider that a design fault. I also don't like the click sound they make. The version with the handy IR for TV doesn't appear to have dedicated volume buttons (except for number keys), so it's back to the RGB one which I already own. Problems with that have been unusable scroll wheel, occasional highlighting and deleting of text when I am trying to type a comment, and the other issue is the printed letters on the keys have faded badly - like 50% of them. It's 3 years old though.
holy poop on a stick USB C! the NEW reviews on amazon for this still mention Micro USB. I wonder if I should take the chance and get one now because I have not bought it due to Micro USB and these days I do not buy devices without USB C.
@@TheHDChannelxhello. Unfortunately it's not 100% the case USB c on this now. I've ordered this from Amazon brand new last week and I've had several replacements already sent (at least they are 1day shipping...) and all have been Micro USB. I'm giving up on it, it's a really nice portable keyboard but I cannot in good conscience humor micro USB on a new device in 2023.
I recently bought it on Amazon and received unit with micro USB and all replacements have been Micro USB. It's a complete shame. I don't know how many times Amazon can send me replacements and at this point they are all going to be micro USB I think...
What I mean is the listing is still showing with mini USB port, but when you buy it, you get one with the updated USB-C port. Here's the link I bought it from: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07RNCJ39B?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I prefer the white led backlight over rgb as well. Hope I get the type c version.
The F4 key is on the number 3 button.. F5 on the 4 button.. and so on.. The Function keys should be aligned with the respective number keys.

I just received mine from Amazon US - ordered 6/16, and received the USB C revision.

So the iR is more suitable for gaming right? It has the additions of the Land R buttons tHat x8 doesnt have.
Those are mouse buttons. If you want gaming, get a proper controller as this is more of a keyboard for tv.

It is now USB C

@@SetterAquariumssame! I bought it recently too and received micro USB and the replacement was micro USB too. Both are going back
Is there no dedicated play/pause button? Really weird for a media center remote. A deal breaker for me.
Space bar!
I have an older version with the media controls. I almost never use them, space bar is being used daily.
5:18 that's what she said
How did you get one with USB C? When i look on the amazon and their website its Micro USB
They probably have updated it, just noticed on Amazon it is pictured with a mini USB port. But I received with a USB-C port.
@@TheHDChannelx damn that's annoying! Was hoping to get a usb c one too. Can you drop the link to the one you purchased?
