If you want to see why features cars will have in 20 years just look at an S Class. Thanks for the video. I like my old S500.

Other reviewers on UA-cam have commented that the leg room in the EQS is less than the S-class. It seems that although the overall length and wheelbase are the same, the inside of the EQS is more equivalent to the standard S-Class sold in Europe. The extended length S-Class that is the only option in the US actually has several inches more leg room in the rear. Can you confirm.
I have had the W220 and currently have two W221. The older one is naturally aspirated and the newer one is turbo. I thought of upgrading the older one to the W222 but didn't find the newer model to be a significant enough of a change to warrant it. It was better but THAT much better to warrant another $130k+. Now that the older one is getting on in years, I guess it is time to look into current models. If the EQS has similar rear space, I might consider it even if the drawback is that it will be relegated only for in town driving. That limitation wouldn't be there with another standard S-Class.
OTOH, there is also the Mercedes Maybach to consider. I really like the reclining heated and ventilated rear seats on my newer W221 S-Class...and that is something that I don't see as an option on either the EQS or the standard S-Class...

Carwow, AutoTrader and Throttle House! Always boast about the EQS, but if you spec both of them to their max, the S-Class is the true standard of luxury! Btw, this video is soo goated, I wish I could subscribe twice!😁👍🏼

Great review man! All other reviewers in Europe have been saying that the EQS is smoother and a better car than the ICE S-Class I always held a different opinion even though i haven't driven them yet

Really nice review. These cars are beautiful and the forward thinking tech aspect Mercedes has done is incredible. But I have to wonder if 56 inches of screen would cause a lot of distraction from glare while driving?

Thanks! The screens didn't bother me at all.

Talking about rear seat head and leg room in the EQS.. My late father had two Jaguar 420G's consecutively, I am 6ft 1" tall and could not sit upright in the rear seat, the roof line being too low. The only way for me to travel comfortably in the rear, was to angle my body and legs, whilst slouching slightly, but I managed and did several long trips withut undue suffering. Perhaps reviewers these days are just determined to find some faults, even fairly petty ones, to justify their reputations..?

Not to Poo-Poo on DeMuro et al., but the OG car reviewers, IMO, have needed to be more active over the years. Please take a look at his awful review of the W140. Your efforts, time, and work were not lost on me. That said, you seemed to have a 'how come?' about the seat height in the EQS, forgetting that the interior sits on a virtual ton of battery real estate. Excellent job. Easy Sub!

And of course one has the "comfort" in driving the "580 S Class"over the EQS, that is the reassurance one has of driving a "gas guzzling V8"..! Who cares about the cost of fuel or the environment...?

Personally I think the S class is the ugliest it has ever been! Mainly because it has tried to incorporate aerodynamics into the traditional S class design standard unsuccessfully, IMO. They did the right thing with the EQS, they threw the traditional design out the window and let the wind and its efficiency implications be the guide. Simple, functional and a dramatic statement in itself. I love it! I laugh when Tesla nuts brand it as ugly given that the cars are basicly the same bar of soap dimpled slightly differently! I guess the 3 point star envy runs deep in those impressions.
