Ahhh Sean Schemmel The "Raditz" of Goku's
The thing I like about Morrow, Veronica Taylor, Peter Cullen, Kevin Conroy, and Roger Craig Smith is that although they are famous, at least they still act like mature adults who don’t go on childish fits. To sum up Schemmel, he is a deluded out of touch manchild who has pretty much let the fame consume him. He is basically creating this reality that centers around him and thinks that any other Goku actor threatens his career.
That’s so true. It really does feel like the VA’s working at VIZ media in California & Canada are more mature and get involved in a hell of a lot less drama than the VA’s working at funimation in TX.
I don’t know about Roger Craig Smith
Makes me hesitant about wanting to start out at Funimation because of him and Chris Sabat's casting couch tendencies (or so I've heard)
@Flaming Beez Reviewz Well unfortunately for you, but funimation got de-listed. It's merged with Crunchyroll. But in all honesty, u didn't want to work for them. They are not the best company and what they did to Vic proves it.

I was suppose to meet him for the first time here in Toronto at Fan Expo but they cancelled it because of Covid. Now this. My heart goes to his family especially during these tough times. I can't even imagine what they're going through. I wish I met him. This really stings and hurts beyond belief. Rest easy champ, you made my childhood amazing with your performances for Miroku and Goku (Ocean Dub). I will have you in my prayers and will send my love and support to your family. Thank you for everything.

Kirby Morrow: voice of Cyclops (X-Men Evolution), Miroku (Inuyasha), Trowa Barton (Gundam Wing), Ryo Takatsuki (aka Jabberwock [Project: ARMS])
Well R.I.P. Kirby Morrow. Obviously Americans didn't get to hear him as Goku but Toonami viewers from those days will remember him fondly as Trowa Barton from Gundam Wing and those same kids who got into anime probably remember him quite fondly as Miroku in InuYasha and Mikami from Death Note. Also, damn Schemmel is thin skinned and petty. I'm not even necessarily one of those "I stand with Vic" guys and he will always be Goku to me but to Canadians and I think British too there were a lot of Gokus
yup, only Canada and the UK got Kirby... they seldom had Schemmel until Funimation jarred their crummy orange bricks into the UK, Westwood Dub should've had a home release when the going was good.
We will miss him as Miroku on Yashahime but Kirby will be proud of Ian Corlett (First Goku) for taking over the character. Plus we haven't heard Ian do anime in years.
wait Ian Corlett taking over Miroku? That's so noble of him. I'm glad that someone who shared roles with Kirby (namely Goku in DBZ and Dr. Tofu in Ranma 1/2) is taking up the mantle, it's very poetic in a way; someone who shared VA roles is rising up to honour the fallen. I'm sure Ian will do a fantastic job.

I was an honor and glad to meet Kirby morrow at a anime convention in Vancouver in 2006 he was signing autographs he was such a wonderful and generous kind soul and also I still have his autograph and kept it as a memory of him

Most of Goku Canadian VAs had respectable careers before and after DBZ, and even then their appreciative of all the fame Goku has brought them, and also they haven't let that fame go all over their heads.

I was first introduced to Kirby Morrow in Transformers Armada in 2013, and I was first introduced to Sean Schemmel in Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL both in 2013
Wow, Sean Schemmel must be one of the most egotistical actors in Anime. Like, he banned Peter Kelamis because he thinks only he can Voice Goku. Well, let me tell Sean Schemmel this, what other character besides Lucario and Goku did he voice? Mostly minor characters that most people forget. Kelamis, on the other hand, has a wide voice acting career that spans longer than Sean Schemmel
But yeah this is sadly common is that when an actor portrays a character, they sometimes get attached to it and it becomes the role they are only associated with. That’s why I prefer Peter Cullen and Veronica Taylor because while they have been replaced with other actors, you don’t see them be egotistical about it. And like I said, the only roles Schemmel has been known for are Lucario, Goku, and a bunch of minor toles in F Zero GP Legend
I see what you're saying overall. Sean schemel definitely seems egoistical and yeah it's usually when one person gets attached to a role. Peter did more known stuff. Sean's only known for Dragon ball
But yeah, that’s why Peter Kelamis seems and Morrow seem nicer is because they have had more acting roles that most people probably remember. Like you said, Sean is only known for voicing Goku and Lucario and most of his roles have been very minor ones at that.

Trowa!!!! This dude was a big part of my middleschool years. Even now I love going back and hearing his voice in Gundam Wing. I also really like his handling of Gyunei in Char's Counterattack, I rewatch the dubbed version ALOT and love it.

I still think that Sean might have been joking, it was probably just worded REALLY poorly. Although that might just be Morrow's funny way of enunciating it, it probably came off a lot more like an actual insult in the tweet itself.
I think just a "Wait a minute!" would have been a humorous reference to "Wait, you're Goku, but I'm also Goku!", without seeming to demean Kirby's role as the character of Goku in people's childhoods.
