I really do think crowds are a major part of the issue (outside of poor moderation). Crowds are distractions. They give loud reactions, eat up time with long pauses for applause, crowds give a pulse of how you can make the most noise and where to keep your speech focused on. If you don't have that, all you have is the questions, your answers, and your rhetoric and any of those can be a massive positive to your campaign, or a massive risk and you won't know until you're done. Unless you are sharp on your talking points, and your plan for what you will accomplish as president, you may run into a question that you're not sure how to handle and that is part of the test of a candidate. You need to be able to adapt, not just cover up your fumbles with cheap comments for applause.

No, I think we treated him with an appropriate level of disdain. Romney at the time was essentially Trump-Lite in his business acumen and experience. Obama Care Website was run by a government department and not a Presidential Campaign, two different things. There was a lot to disagree with Obama on governing but a government Website broke down because of presumably high traffic is quite frankly desperate and pathetic.

Website building contract was Given on 'basically' a NO BID contract (due to the way the contract was handed out) to some Canadian based company, that had NO BUSINESS making the website or trying to secure it. They were fairly new to the U.S contracting scene and were only the 29th largest federal IT contractor. B.) Apparently they missed ALOT of deadlines/mile stones before the launch of the website. And before Healthcare.gov they were plagued with those issues before too with a Canadian government health care run website: "Ontario, Canada's health-care medical registry for diabetes sufferers was so poor that officials ditched the $46.2 million contract after three years of missed deadlines" B.) They somehow did not account for well much of any traffic and did VERY little testing for bugs. C.) They did not in ANY WAY shape or form secure the website even as millions of people were entering in SS #'s, birth dates etc. The Obama Admin was forced to bring in ALOT of help and the MANY reports highlighted that the Company "CGI" did very little in terms of securing the front side and the back end as well. Obama's Admin basically shit the bed with the Obamacare website.

You're absolutely correct, we never even nominate the best candidate , much less let them actually run things. Vote out all incumbents, even yours. Return the system to the rightful heirs. It's about substance, not having a good schtick. Character over charm.

Obama Care Website was run by a government department and not a Presidential Campaign, two different things. There was a lot to disagree with Obama on governing but a government Website broke down because of presumably high traffic is quite frankly desperate and pathetic.
Zakaria, you really don't remember anything about that website or the HIGHLY questionable actions taken in regards to that entire debacle do you?
A.) Website building contract was Given on 'basically' a NO BID contract (due to the way the contract was handed out) to some Canadian based company, that had NO BUSINESS making the website or trying to secure it. They were fairly new to the U.S contracting scene and were only the 29th largest federal IT contractor.
B.) Apparently they missed ALOT of deadlines/mile stones before the launch of the website. And before Healthcare.gov they were plagued with those issues before too with a Canadian government health care run website:
"Ontario, Canada's health-care medical registry for diabetes sufferers was so poor that officials ditched the $46.2 million contract after three years of missed deadlines"
B.) They somehow did not account for well much of any traffic and did VERY little testing for bugs.
C.) They did not in ANY WAY shape or form secure the website even as millions of people were entering in SS #'s, birth dates etc.
The Obama Admin was forced to bring in ALOT of help and the MANY reports highlighted that the Company "CGI" did very little in terms of securing the front side and the back end as well.
Obama's Admin basically shit the bed with the Obamacare website.

Romney implied that less ships in 2012 vs 1916 meant that in 2012 we had a weaker navy. Obama educated him that we have more vehicles (submarines, aircraft carriers, etc.) then we did back then and much more capabilities and that we’re much stronger in the same way that rather than people riding horseback, we have other means of transportation, it was an accurate comparison.
