Monteverde "brown sugar" has been one of my favorite brown inks for a long time. Here's some trivia for you: as far back as medieval times, there have been recipes for making brown inks from the husks of walnuts.
@@stevekail4543 I searched brown sugar and it’s a beautiful rich brown! I hope I could find a sample somewhere. And thank you for the trivia! I wonder what’s the process in making the ink and what preservatives the use!
@@Adventuresover40 I’m glad you loved it and found a couple of inks to add to your wish list. Which ones are your favorite? Do you have other favorite brown inks? ☺️
@@lalunebunny picking a favorite is hard. So many good ones. I have Sailor 373 inked up right now and I am absolutely loving it. I also have Lie De Thé inked up. A few browns that I love are BPC distressed leather, Robert Oster choc pudding and Monteverde Moonstone. Oh and BPC Arabica bean is another good one.
I loved seeing you swatch all those browns! I wonder why doesn't Diamine include more browns in their Invent Calendar. There seem to be many people who love the browns. FWP has been at the top of my list for all browns for the last year or more, but from your list I'm adding Steeped Umber and Oyster Hour to my wish list. Just want to add, Noodler's Rome is a very unique brown I love.
@@Tia-p5f I'm so glad you enjoyed the swatching! It's surprising that Diamine doesn’t include more browns in their Advent Calendar, especially considering the love for brown inks in the community. I agree! FWP has some fantastic browns-I totally get why they’re at the top of your list. Steeped Umber and Oyster Hour are excellent choices to add to your wishlist! Noodler's Rome is indeed a unique brown. Hopefully I could get my hands on a sample of it. It's always great to hear what others are enjoying. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and happy inking! 💕🍁🍁
Tsukushi was one of my first and still my favorites. I have a little bottle of yama-guri on the way today!
So sad it’s discontinued. Do you have a bottle of it? I only have a sample 😢 I might get another sample haha
I love brown inks!
@@salamaat me too! I jumped on the brown bandwagon and I haven’t gotten off. It’s been a while lol. 🤎

@@Adventuresover40 oh I have to search for those inks! I want to get the sailor 673 and 973 as well but I couldn’t find them locally haha!
definitely added some to my list. sailor ink studio 373 is right up my alley. purple brown
This was an unintentional purchase as 273 was not available back then but it turned out beautiful as well 💕 still on a brown ink phase 🤭

If I had to choose one and only one, 😅 it would be Diamine Warm Brown.
@@salamaat it’s perfect for all seasons 😍
I like the look of Diamine Desert Burst, Colorverse Brunch Date, and especially FWP Oyster Hour
@@deskofem love them, too! I hope Oyster Hour isn’t too light on a pen 🤭
@@lalunebunny true! That’s the tricky part. Swatches can be deceiving
@@deskofemmight put it on a broad nib pen to be safe 🤭
Sailor Ink Studio 373.
@@vcrouch6041 it’s a lovely brown with pink and mauve shading 😍
