Grammar rules are definitely not the first thing that you should learn when you just get started. It's just a tool that we use to check the grammar mistakes in our sentences. It's like when we're speaking Chinese, we make grammar mistakes all the time, but we don't really care about that. Neither do our listeners. And when it comes to writing, it's also similar. We might make a lot of grammar mistakes when writing Chinese sentences but we aren't able to be aware of it. Do we care? Hell no! Are you gonna check every grammar mistake every time you send your friend a message?

    Ella 什麼是英文思維? 學英文真的要有英文思維嗎? 因為我學英文好多年了,但還是無法很流利

I don't actually agree with you on the second "shortcut" that you don't memorize "picture word" (at least I call them this). When you look up a new word in a dictionary(such as a term or a concept like motivation, education etc), you still have to figure out the meaning of the word by creating a bunch of "pictures" in your mind, but that only happens after you've memorized those picture words. My point is, we understand only when pictures appear.

For those new words, we have to use what we know to understand them. And how we know that we know? Pictures. No pictures, no comprehension. That's why people with great speaking skills would spend hours or even days coming up with analogies to explain a concept. And the concept is actually in the category of what you call the abstract words.

Another reason that I can think of is the way how babies learn to speak their mother tongue. Would they learn the concrete words first or the abstract words as you've suggested? If they follow your method, well, they might never be able to speak any language.

It's "Mommy" that is the first word that comes out of babies's mouth, not run, good, and, slowly.

    美女博主。你学英语,会不会把视频里学过的英语句子单独抄在笔记本里,反复复习 ?
