Congratulations on disassembling the lock without drawing any blood, although it might attract more subscribers.
Use a little pen torch to apply a little heat and that ill release the locktite. Sometimes you can heat the tip of a screwdriver very hot and just transfer heat to the screw (if you don't want to risk putting heat directly to a lock itself.
Heat is your friend with locktite. It save on the drawing blood factor and it saves screwdrivers also.
TS007 is the British Standard. There are 3 ratings with 3 star being the highest. It is actually called a Yale Platinum 3 star.
I was surprised to find that's true - I always thought our British Standards started with BS :)
2LeftThumbs that's BS 😉
@PHILL DIXON doubt it, ERA is in Willenhall and the ERA 3 star are made in china lol, nothing is made in UK anymore
@PHILL DIXON I had Willenhall Lock and Keys of steel mate. All come in from China now. Same as Era. ABS and Ultion. if not the whole lock most the parts. nothing like it used to be
Is there a lock BETTER than this?
Funny to see thelock that is in my door :P Gave me a good feeling that it took him over 10 mins...
Was wondering how long it was going to be until you did one of those.
These are the locks I've got on my house and I'm glad that a pro like yours took a while to pick it.
I sometimes think the most challenging part of these picks, are taking the locks apart :)
not to mention, putting them back together, and working.........
not to mention to not to bleed out..
@@joonaknuutinen5540 I
Yes, putting them back together is the challenging part (and it's why I have a bag of random pins and springs from locks I couldn't get back together!)
"Let me get a glove" I think, "oh good, so you won't let the screw driver slip and stab your hand". Then you come back with it on the other hand...
Is for more grip for more turning power
I winced too ;-)
I've just bought one of these so am happy to see it's not a quick job to pick.
Yale's maximum secury euro cylinder picked open in one attempt and took less than 10 minutes.
The locks in Bill's naughty bucket must be formidible locks indeed.
There are probably a very small number of people in the world that could pick this thing. I know I never could and I'm okay with that.
It's impressive that a lock you can pick up from a hardware store gave Bill that much of a battle.
Also don't be put off, it's all down to practise in this game.
Just checked out his channel, impressive. Although I suspect he may have picked that a few times before...
The lock Tumbl3r picked was the Yale Millenco Magnum (AKA as the Yale Superior), not quite the same as this one which is Yales flagship lock, the Platinum
evil0h1 the yale superior is actually a better core, it has the same 2 security pins and is a 7 pin not 5 pin.
This looks like it could still be very easily raked
...and now, finally, I think I've figured out what the weird half-cylinder pick in the sparrows classic set is for. It looks like It's for manipulating sliders. Thanks Bill.x
thanks for doing more picking with the mic next to the lock!
replaced a euro cylinder lock with one of these guys. 40 quid lock. nice to see its a difficult one to crack. only bought it cos it was the only one that had anti snap lol
Good trick with lock tight i have found, is to tighten it, then loosen.
What a resistant piece of technology!
somebody has got to do an thorough explanation of sliders. a cutaway would be nice
superdupergrover 100%
superdupergrover
Hey guys there are a few slider locks picked on other pickers channels. I suggest looking at pottie314 his last video was the pick and gut of a Supra-C real estate lock. And he does such a good job explaining it too.
Cheers & Happy Pickin!!
thank you. it drives me nuts when some one talks about something mechanical and i have only the vaguest idea what they're talking about
superdupergrover sliders are stationary "finger" pins, the groove is just like the bitting on a key, the fingers ride in the groove lifting them to their shear line exactly like regular pins.
thanks everyone for the help. i've got it now
Yale TS007 Platinum 3-Star .. I have just bought 2 of these key matched but I think not to many lock picking burglars out there the biggest risk is snapping, any body with a lever and a mole grip can snap a lock in a minute for that reason I was disappointed that the lock doesn't have a sacrificial section, these 2 locks cost me £120 and without seeing a video of someone trying to snap one I don't know the strength of the anti snap. It would have been interesting to have heard Bills opinion about this.
Would seeing the video of this lock being picked in 8 minutes deter you from buying these locks.
No because only people that have developed these skills like locksmiths etc can do this, my point here is any person with crude tools can snap a lock in less than a minute so for that reason I would like to see if it can done on the Yale***
From the point you mentioned that neighbour, he's all I could focus on for the rest of the video
I still have no idea what you did to a sliders but very nice lock, and very very nice job Bill.
Probably used locktite "red" (yes, I know the color is blue, but that has little relevance) on those initial screws; a little heat may have helped it come out a little easier... maybe. :)
Bosnian bill would be great if you could explain sliders to us in a video.
As always Bill, thanks for the great video! A side note for you, and I will be completely understanding of those who may down-vote me. Just because people are so insane these days, you may consider muting, what to us, is clearly humor at 16:59. I know, I know. Just a thought, guys. Keep up the great work, Bill! I learn so much from you and so greatly appreciate all you do!
If it takes you this long to pick that’s the one I want to use. How’s it hold up to drill and brute force.
10:56 My small trick is if not turn... tray to turn in/close and then turn up/open/out ... some time this working very well
I wonder if you could make something that covers the outside of a core, similar to your pusher, however this would be something you would push the core through so you don't have to risk losing pins. In effect, your third hand.
Nice picking Bill! Very nice lock to! I really enjoyed watching you pick this lock! I am going to have to get some locks with sliders because I have never been able to get one as of now but hopefully I can get one soon!
lm betting that's not your first drink, lol, Sunday Funday!
Use a small torch to heat up the screw! It will liquefy the loc tite
Why didn't you put it in the vice to disassemble?
If this was the thumb turn version, would it be still be susceptable to a Sparrow bypass tool that can turn the cam? Or is there something to prevent that on these 3 Star locks? I don't understand why standard thumb turn cylinders allow direct access to turn the cam 😲.
Update: Seemed a bad idea, but realise that it serves a purpose on standard cylinders; allows the key to orientate the thumb turn ready for use.
I just fitted 2 of these and one of them the key is tight to get in I have to jiggle quite a lot is this normal
Sure would like to see you put that back together.
500 grams of plastic explosive should open that lock :) Soon you had hard time with the flat screw I knew you will get the locktite, well good to see it was not somehere else too :)
So how would you rate this Bill compared with the ABS locks? ....anti pick, bump, drill, snap,
This was the reason I replaced my ABS Mk3 with the Yale :-
ua-cam.com/video/LcPbAy-uMhM/v-deo.html
can you tell any stories of when you used these skills at work? or maybe even true stories?
Heat. Glued screws require heat. It says so on the red bottle.
had to bust out the brownelles magnatip kit on this one
I don't understand this video, so, is this cylinder a good one or not ?
The air would turn blue with profanity and a half bottle of bourbon would have disappeared if I had to face that lock. (Sorry, not a fan of scotch.) I've never had to deal with sliders before. And pray I never will in the future.
Have you ever picked a vehicle ignition lock?
“This is where I stab myself”. I thought the glove would be for your Other hand. I’ve stabbed myself with a screwdriver a few times...ugh. I watched that part in cringe mode.
I think we need a LockLab drinking game;
False set, take a drink. Reset and start over, chug a pint. Bill stabs himself, red beer :D
Can you pick car door locks? say you locked your keys in your car and need to get into your car quickly.
watch videos on car repo guys. they pry the door with a wedge and use a rod. most car doors are open in under 10 seconds
If anyone ever questioned your mastery, here's the proof. Good f'n lord!
My front door has one of those!
Shame you have a catflap installed
"I'd use it to shoot my neighbor"😂😂😂😂
Hardest lock ive ever seen :D
Is there a better lock than this....?
I have a ultion, I have heard its easier than yale to pick, paid top dollar for it, any info or input on the subject, thanks,
The best are: Abloy Protect 2, Dom Diamond and Keso 8000 Omega Premium but don't forget to install a good defender like a Disec or Azzi Fausto, British don't use defenders on their doors.
Would you kindly move the microphone so I can see, and hear, what you are doing? Tks
if this was on the outside of a house, you'd be rotating it the wrong way Bill.
The order by which the pins will be tensioned, is different on both rotational directions. Just sayin'
Yes, but then you can use a plug spinner, to flip past/through the other direction. Anyway it depends on which direction the door is hung. I have this lock in my front door. Facing from outside the hinge is on right and so I unlock clockwise, but if it swung the other way it'd be anticlockwise. The top of the key rotates towards the hinge unlocking. Made that mistake first eurolock door I picked (elderly neighbor lockout)
What is the toughest lock you have tried to pick ?
17:03 America
If you think our locks are good you should see our Nissan cars and Hitachi trains...
Looks like its worth the £54 it costs.
hey I don't know if you know but if Yr going to put subtitles on the video please don't put the logo in the way because I can't read them OK?
Sorry, but UA-cam places the logo there, I have no choice in the placement.
Cant a thief just buy one of these and pick using your method though? This is kind of how things get broken into 🙈
picking a lock is one of the least common methods used to break into things, most likely due to the skill needed for it - a thief would most likely want to be in and out as quickly as possible, so they'd probably look for an open window or such things
The police would have been around about five minutes into this attempted burglary.
blxtothis You clearly don't live in England!
The police is too busy chasing after people saying bad things about them on Facebook to come arrest burglars. But this lock might allow you enough time to write a strongly worded letter to the burglar to tell him to stop.
Hey send me a email bill I'll reman the orange screw driver you bent up there I have some cool 5 sided drill rod and I'll do some etching for you or reply to this and I'll email you
17:05 AC current running through a coil will demagnetize your tools so those little parts won't stick to them. Place the tool inside the coil and turn it on for a few seconds. I don't know why you are catering to the wankers with headphones on. First they whine about the nice intro music (phased awesomeness!) and now you are mic'ing the lock for them... What are we, in a Tom Cruise movie now?
You better delete this video if someone shoots your neighbor.
Stick to your day job don't think thieves would bother wasting time on trying to pick the lock
So the ANTI-PICK part it all a load of rubbish then really. Waste of £50 that was👍🏻
First
CG! You won absolutely nothing! :3 :3 Enjoy!
i don't need it tbh
Got one of these on my front door and now feel quite safe. 10 mins for you to pick it in a lab gives me a high confidence level.
So true. If it took this guy that long, it'll do for me!
Got one like that on my front door. Just getting the key lined up to go in is hard enough
So so true! 😂
Bill was having difficulty too! Does it get any easier on a wet and dark evening, or drive you nuts?
@@SaxJockey Best just leave it unlocked
@@peepiepo Oh gawd, it's that bad 😂.
Hahahahaha so true. Put one in a few days ago. Struggle getting the fucker in 😂
This was the video that made me choose my exterior door locks. If BB takes that long to get in, it's very very difficult to pick by mere mortals. For your average light-fingered type, unpickable.
If only the keys were nicer to look at than the black nylon bow.
Jeeezzz...this is a pro-pick....let me train a year or 45 more...😓
Very nice and educational video. Actually, this lock is offering a really decent degree of pick resistance.
Took bill with his nice calming voice to pick this lock within 20 minutes. Fairplay to bill. I have these locks on all my doors. I hope bill does not try to break into my house. As i would have to make him a cup of tea before he gets in. Thanks bill for letting me know these are good locks. Ive sent you a box of plasters.
At last! Someone who knows that Glenmorangie is a superior scotch :)
Any afficiando of whisky knows full well that Glenfiddich is THE superior Scotch...
Yes, but it's pronounced Glen-MORR-an-jee (NOT Glen-morr-AN-Gee or Glen -morr-AN-jee). Takes its name from the place it's made.
I have one of these on my front door and have always puzzled at the key and how the lock would be picked
What if it had been a left-handed screw? ;->
I wondered that. I also wondered if they had made it so there was a pin at the back holding the locks on either side into the middle cast piece, so you had to turn the key to remove it. That would have been an extra antipull feature. Oh well
Really helpful video I have a very similar Yale lock with pins and sliders, I'll try your tip with the sliders, great video as always 👍👍
It's nice to see that not all locks "fall open" in the hands of a artist :)
damn bill I do like to hear those clicks, but I love all of your videos you don't need to change a thing good effing job on that lock and thank you!!!!
You're a Master lock manipulator Bill! Why isn't this lock on the belt ranking list, is this more difficult pick than the Yale Superior dimple lock?
Well that was strange to see my somewhat small home city randomly mentioned on a lockpicking video
To make it easier to remove locktite held screws, use some slight heat on the screw and they will come right undone with no problems.
i work as a software developer and sit in my office and watch LockPicking videos on YT...pls someone stop me, i don't even own a picking set... ps: pls make a tutorial on how to handle laser cut sliders!
That "Laser cut" seems to be milled, actually. You can see the round tool marks. Or it's just a naming convention?
just found your channel and it has completely consumed my weekend.what a great channel well done.
Welcome to the tribe
I have a major issue. I believe a skeleton key was stolen from some maintenance people and now, everyone room is being broken into when they are not around.
Is there a chance changing from a basic 4pin euro lock to a dimple lock would likely stop the skeleton key? If not can you give me some advice?
Louis Browne yeah change it and you should be fine.
I should choose my locks by just sorting your videos by length.
Well done Bill, Loved this on as these are what I've got on my external doors :) just finished my 10yr old Glenmorangie at the weekened you reminded me i must get some more :D Great video and look forward to seeing more, feeling inspired again and need to dig out my beginner lock picks and start learning some more.
We had to snap one of these which did snap with our tools as the owner lost the keys
Some retailers are referring to this as a 22 and even 24 pin 🙄. Maybe they think that a double sided key means double accounting the number of key pins and slider pins, then adding more for good measure 😂.
You said you were going for a glove, so naturally I assumed that was for the hand you were going to stab the screwdriver into . . .
Bill, I am a master technician. One of the tricks I learned to loosen bolts, screws and nuts, is to tighten what ever you are trying to break loose, just wait for a very slight movement in the wrong direction. After that the object will loosen much better.
Ahh yes, Credits are due to you sir!
Not sure where or when I 'knew' this but my first realization of the theory involved attempting to enlighten someone with little to no common sense, about removing lug nuts on a wheel.
Gauging by the # of 👍's you've received, not a whole lot of peeps in this industry have an abundance of common sense.
WOW, and Purple Chrissy's opine was "5 years ago" . . . my how time flies.
LockPickingLawyer deserves Credits where Due, for he is the reason I enjoyed BosnianBills video presentation (curious about the relationship the two have). I believe it is . . . BosnianBill is a very knowledgeable mentor from whom LockPickingLawyer has, over the years, learned a tremendous amount, among other collaborations through the relationship.
May GOD Bless them both with an abundance of joy and be content with what they have contributed to mankind's security. (aka, getting the Lock Industry off their lazy a$$'s and making a *profanity* SECURE LOCK!)

I want the most difficult to defeat lock,
It is this style what are the best options available ?.
Controlled breaking (snapping) models are all similar, like the Abus Bravus. If you want the best cylinders available today they are: Abloy Protect 2, Dom Diamond and Keso 8000 Omega Premium. If you have one of these you are safe except if your door's frame is of wood instead steel, then do something against a lever attack
Ha... Believe me bill... I know how picky the blue yeti's mute button is. Sometimes breathing on it is enough
Thanks for the great videos, I'm into vaping, but I've always wanted to try this so I have ordered 2 lots of lock picks for me and my friend, he's ex, forces and our picks come with the see through lock to practice on so I can not wait..lol..all thanks to you..ps this is for only our locks if we can do it. I can't even do a lock that's the size of my finger tip but watching ur videos, we will get better, thanks again for your good videos.
Great video, this style of dual Yale is becoming widely used across the UK with the installation of new PVC doors. However I noticed the one I have installed has an interactive section in the very tip of the key.
Modern Leveller PVC... doors? I will never understand the silly things done in the UK. Reminds me of PVC dinnerware from the 70s. Please tell me there are steel ribs embedded in it.
Modern Leveller galvanized steel box section throughout the upvc profile.
Better than a wooden door!
Eddiecurrent2000 you must be joking! Plastic doors are crap
Glenmorangie should be pronounced to rhyme with the word "Orangey", as in, "that paint is an orangey colour".
Great pick either way.
I would put that glove on the other hand.
Just in case the screwdriver slips...
I enjoy your videos a lot thanks for making them
Not really related to the topic but I love your voice man... It's so soothing.
@15.23 you split the ext with centre and interior a small pin falls on the tray measuring about 1.5 mm x 2mm on reassembly where does this go, I presume it’s why the ext key won’t turn now I have reassembled it ( it does when the ext lock is separated) . Any help would be appreciated 👍
Well done!
I came across one of these 2 days ago and kinda wonderd on the difficulty!
Totally out of my depth! LOL
ive brought this lock after seeing you struggle with it. id like to see the anti snap tested, be nice to know it does break as it should.
Would be really useful to see a test.
I'm worried that they look like the break line takes the whole front barrel with it, including pins.
This is surely a vulnerability. Particularly when you've got front and back doors identically pinned. Snap off the back door cylinder, identify the size of the pins and sliders, make up a key. And your in.
Hence most anti snap locks have the sacrificial break line a few mm back from the front of the lock, so you only get the first pin. Also so you can still get in with the front pin.
Can you change a yale 6 pin lock for this kind of lock as long as the cylinder is the same 70mm 35/35
Wow, very impressive work
