    What would you recommend for seeing longer distances an being able to spot animals better?

    • @TEquipment
      @TEquipment  6 років тому

      The FLIR ONE Pro has a higher resolution so for seeing objects at a distance, this will be the better option for you out of these two cameras. That said, the ONE Pro is a great camera but not really designed for this application - if you want long distance, Seek Thermal has a model called the Compact Pro which has an advertised 1800ft measurement range. See our comparison video here: ua-cam.com/video/JgO5o5Wvb6A/v-deo.html

    can I use One-Pro for Termite Inspection in home?

    • @TEquipment
      @TEquipment  5 років тому +1

      Yes you can! Thermal imaging is a great way to detect termites in a home. When termites enter a dwelling they rapidly humidify the space they inhabit and actively regulate the temperature - a thermal camera is a very effective way to detect these temperature differentials.

    Hi, great reviews, can You please tell me do You RECOMMEND Fluke PTi120 over Flir C3 or One Pro in 2020 ? Tnx

    • @TEquipment
      @TEquipment  4 роки тому +1

      We will have a PTi120 comparison coming soon! The Fluke PTi120 does have higher resolution than the C2/C3 but it's a bit more expensive and doesn't have the robust software/reporting capabilities of FLIR cameras. Check it out here: www.tequipment.net/Fluke/PTI120-9HZ/Building-and-Industrial-Thermal-Imagers/
      On a budget, the FLIR ONE Pro is still the best overall option for resolution, features, and total cost if you can deal with using a smartphone platform. The FLIR C2/C3 are the best budget standalone options but they have low resolution. The PTi120 gives you greater resolution than C2/C3 and is a good standalone option if you have a bigger budget.

    Devin, First thanks for taking the time to do these reviews! I'm a home inspector that is going to be adding thermal imaging to my services. (Electrical Panels, Radiant Heat Floors, etc.) I agree the ruggedness of the C3 is desirable but, the enhanced image quality of the OnePro should be a better sell to my clients. I use my iPhone and iPad throughout my home inspections already... and no client questions why I'm using them vs a computer (Also, the concern about dropping one as I'm using it as my report writing tool / camera now is a concern but the speed at which I complete my reports is offset). The OnePro pixel resolution is up there with the E6 so.... (I'll leave you to fill in the blank) Finally, you commented in the video that there may be times when "it feels more like an app than a tool" may be a disadvantage but didn't explain. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on that comment. Since I'm just starting out, the half the price tag is a really appealing with the OnePro. Thanks again, will be waiting to hear your reply.

    • @TEquipment
      @TEquipment  5 років тому +2

      Glad to hear you're considering a thermal imager - it will make inspections much easier and save you time. The FLIR ONE Pro will feel more like an app than a tool because the entire interface is controlled using your phone's touchscreen via the FLIR ONE App. This isn't necessarily a disadvantage for all, but it could be since using a touchscreen interface isn't as smooth, fast, or easy to learn when compared to a traditional physical interface - there is no shutter release trigger or physical button, it's all digital on your phone. This is a personal preference but we have found that professional users often prefer physical buttons as this is easier and more intuitive to use on the job for multiple hours a day. The C2/C3 feature both physical buttons and a touchscreen, making these better suited for professionals. The FLIR Ex series is better still - this is the entry level professional series from FLIR. These cameras have a more ergonomic form factor and more intuitive physical interface. Also, keep in mind that both your phone and your FLIR ONE Pro have separate batteries and each needs to be charged separately - this could be an issue on the job since the FLIR ONE Pro battery life is about 1 hour.

    Can you please compare the Cat S61 Smartphone with the Flir One Pro?
    The thing is that i have to mail the images almost immediately, so if the S61 isn't that bad, it'll be my way to go.

    • @TEquipment
      @TEquipment  5 років тому

      The S61 is a great device but is limited in many ways - there are only certain mobile carriers it works with, and its thermal camera resolution has not been published by the manufacturer (make of this what you will). The FLIR ONE Pro is a more powerful and versatile alternative since you can use it with most iOS and Android devices (depending on which version you buy). It also allows you to export and send images very quickly thanks to the free FLIR Tools app - with this app you can edit images, create professional reports, and export/email files from right in the app.

    Which you buy Flir one pro or Flir C2 ? Please

    • @TEquipment
      @TEquipment  5 років тому

      It depends on your application. If you are going to do professional-level thermography on a daily basis then the C2/C3 will be easier to use since these are standalone thermal cameras (and are more durable than smartphone-based cameras). The ONE Pro is higher resolution and is great value for the price, but being smartphone-based brings some drawbacks like less durability and shorter battery life.

    so what youre saying is....no matter what a customer may THINK the flir one pro is a better tool as far as usefulness and features. your perception on the tools lifespan and "professional" look are really just opinions. i wouldnt say 400 bucks for a phone attachment is exactly cheap and not something most people would buy. be it a hobbyist tool like you say

    • @TEquipment
      @TEquipment  3 роки тому

      FLIR ONE Pro does have a few advantages over the C2/C3 like higher resolution, but it is intended as a hobbyist/consumer device. For a professional user, the C Series form factor will be easier to use on the job and is more durable - with ONE Pro you need to worrying about dropping your phone. C Series also has better battery life for long work days. Just be aware that the C2/C3 are now discontinued, you can check out a comparison of the C3 vs the latest FLIR C5 model here: ua-cam.com/video/ooN-CI8RPYw/v-deo.html

    • @TEquipment
      @TEquipment  6 років тому

      On a job site, the C2/C3 offer much better durability thanks to a 2-meter drop test rating and IP40 certification against water and dust ingress. The ONE Pro is drop tested to 1.8 meters and has not been IP rated for ingress protection, not to mention it requires a smartphone for operation. It's a trade-off and it depends on what you care about most - for durability, C2/C3 is the better option but for resolution, ONE Pro is best.

    Flir one pro gen 3 suffers from a serious battery draining issue wile not in use...Already sent mine Flir ONE PRO gen 3 to the support for an RMA replacement but I’m almost sure they will just send me an identical replacement unit with the same identical battery issue. FLIR do you really??? I’m afraid we gonna get used to design issue no matter what company is, they just don’t give a xxxx about the consumer or prosumer customers. They sell hundred thousands dollar equipment why they should care about us? May be because we paid a price for something usable which turns out is not? I will suggest not to buy the flir one pro until flir doesn’t admit the fault and take seriously care of it taking back the faulty one and give to the customer something that is not clearly a piece of not well engineered junk.
