This is a guide that took quite a lot of time. I wish all of our new Space Station players as good of shifts as possible. Knowing the controls is only a minor part of getting into the game, and I hope this video helps many of you learn and enjoy the crazy world of Space Station 14.
As a person who hasnt played SS14 in about a year, this really helps a lot. I plan to re-enter ss14 sonetime soon, so seeing more up to date guides would be great. Massive thank you for making them.
@@Liltenhead Barely any change in a year? Isn't that kind of a problem though? Will it be stuck in Alpha limbo forever and never fully release on Steam at this rate? It's been quite a while since I played SS14 myself, and I'm baffled one of my favorite jobs from SS13, Geneticist, _still_ hasn't made it into the game yet. I was disappointed to see that it wasn't in the game when I first played SS14, but forgave it for still being relatively early in development, however, it's been long enough now, no? Even Roboticist and Virologist are missing. Shouldn't getting all jobs into the game be high priority? The core framework, mechanics, controls and stations seem to all be there. I don't mean to come off aggressively demanding, but, if what you say is true, and not much has changed in a year of development, somebody needs to put a fire under them, to be frank. We're only getting older. lol
coming from SS13 the controls are similar enough to be confident knowing what i can do, but different enough from my usual servers to where i have no actual idea how i can do it. thank you for making this. it really helped.
Hello to all the new players who will find this guide! Just remember to take things at your own pace, enjoy the precious time you get to learn as a cadet! There is always time to roleplay the badass later.
Great timing with this guide, hopefully this gets recommended to new players joining after the Game Reveals. And of course, this great channel gets a boost too!
I wish you all good luck during this massive graytide. I hope we retain a bunch of players. Also your guides are great since I never learned hotkeys in SS13 back in the day and was pretty rusty getting into SS14. Thank you for all your help!
Generally when i was learning this game the very first thing i did after reading the server rules is to look at the change controls menu, quick way to know what you can do and how to do it.
As a pretty new player he is completely right at the end, from security to botany unless you just miss your chance to ask questions there are plenty of people willing to help.
Hello, new players! I highly recommend Delta-V if you're looking for a chiller vibe of SS14, although it _is_ still SS14, so expect chaos at any time! I'd also recommend remapping "Drop' to something less likely for you to accidentally mash when you're holding something important. Even Shift-Q works better. Thanks for the guide, Lilt!
Nothing quite reaches the level of stress you get when somebody hands you all the objects you need to do something, tells you to do it, and you just have to sit there like "how do?" Accidentally ate a petition someone wanted me to sign... Don't even know what it was for, but it's fiber now...
Hello, i would like to try this game but i keep reading bad stuff like trigger happy admins, toxic players, weirdos, etc. What is your opinion? Do you suggest any server? I'm just interested in playing the basic modes (station vs antag)
I only played the official servers, wizard's den,i havent had any trouble with admins, if you dont do anything that breaks the rules they will leave you alone, also they have a system in which they can see which players are new to the game so they can be more forgiving with them. I recommend playing LRP servers at first so you get the vibe of the game, then if you want a more roleplay oriented or less chaotic gameplay move to MRP or HRP. in any case you dont know LRP,MRP and HRP are low roleplay, medium roleplay and high roleplay.
VERY new player here, I have a question about committing crimes as a passenger: is it failRP to just go do crime randomly? like can i just smash a window, steal something etc. for no reason just to be a dick, or could that get me banned or something? I'm playing on Lizard

Game actually hasn't changed all that much in a year, hope it treats you well!

Thanks! I was so confused on how to play! Now I can be robust!
Anytime Jester!
Wish all my studies had a video that walked me through the topics by the hand like in this video lol
As a new passenger this is very helpful, thanks!
Wow! We need a Server for new players like that
Well this is real convenient that you posted a tutorial the literal day before I become interested in SS again lol.
Ah this is just like your old video that got me into the game months ago. Good stuff!

A Very good well done Tutorial. MUCH better then the small guidebook ingame. I Subcribed at 7:15 😅
I'm glad it helped ya out!

perfect timing with the trailer shown
finally, you've updated this
Old one isn't even that badly out of date surprisingly.
@@Liltenhead yeah well, not much has changed about the keybinds
I honestly want to see a version of this map for salvage missions. Tutorials on the floor and all.

Tutorial map is amazing !
The anticipation of "How will Urist die at the end of this tutorial video" was real.
I was tempted to do carps again, turret is cool though.
I don't need to watch this but I still really want to
You forgot the 18kmol freezon setup, dont worry we forgive you for forgetting something that basic.

Oh, to be a farty spesmans.
you made a guide an hour beforehand? ngl, you’re kinda powermaxxing..
More like I spent the past few days making this. Making a map, even a simple one takes a good bit of time.
*admin popout sound* uh sorry man we dont allow powermaxing, you'll have to relax for 2 hours
@@Liltenhead I decided to map and this is so real...
You know the controls are so bad implemented when you need to check a youtube vid to understand how they work
You know your brain is poorly implemented into your skull when your English sucks and you're too dumb to remember a few hotkeys.
