Great video Sammy and awesome fish . Thank you for the sounder pictures it helps a new bloke like me heaps. Much appreciated, always look forward to seeing your work. Cheers Pagey
I love all the experts in here telling ya how to go about your craft mate. Like you some kind of newbie hahah.. Thanks for the goods again mate. I'll have to say G'day next time I see Ya around the hood.
Another SWEET episode Sammy! Stoked you got some payback. Nice editing job. Especially, the transitions from panoramic view to zoomed in view of the strike. Keep up the great work!! Tight Lines Mate!
Nice one Sammy. Two things that jinx me….. the net and ice…. If I take heaps of ice. Low chance of fish…. If I have the net ready….. pretty much no fish…. Hahahahha
Sam, any thought on how the lure presents at depth and hook position while the lure is swimming? May be an issue with hook-up rate?! What about using a dropper to get depth quickly which should reduce line length or is noise an issue for the snapper?
Love your vids dude! Great content all the time, and made me keen to swap from Daiwa to ATC just cause the drag sounds ripe! But also, 30lb is a good line class… 50 with fluorocarbon is even better 😅
Haha get around them mate! The problem with heavier gear is the drag on the line and leader stops the lure diving as deep! Its a catch 22 unfortunately 🤦♂️
Hey Sammy do u have any tips on how to find fishing spots. Other than busting pelagics, can’t find any structure to catch decent fish. Other than that great video mate looking forward to the next.
Great revenge video. Persistence must be a numbers game! Well done. How much drag have you got on those trolling rods? I'm thinking that GoPro camera angle makes them look like they are bending all the way to the butt. I winced every time, expecting a snap to come.
Just out of curiosity why don't you use inline J hooks instead of those trebles. In my experience I've had a lot less missed hookups and straightened hooks with them compared to those trebs. Thanks for the awesome vids as always from a fellow fisherman from South Africa
Hey mate! I’ve tried the singles a few times, they work great once they are in, but I found I missed a lot more hits with them. I also like that the second hooks swings into the fish with trebles and ads to the hook security 👌 So personal preference more than anything 👍👍
@SammyHitzkeFishing I was thinking Sammy. Maybe cause the lure dives so deep when the fish hit it there's a lot of slack line. I don't know. Though your driving forward. Maybe try different trebbles
Hey mate, nicely done on the first comment! I looked into doing this a while ago and couldn’t get insurance for it unless I was a registered charter operator and had the boat put into survey. I have a couple of ideas though for some upcoming things that should work 👌👌
@SammyHitzkeFishing I'm planning a trip to Aus (from alaska!) In the next few years and if you figure a way to take people fishing I'd be all over it!
That’s color and design, except for the massive bib, looks exactly the same as a bass lure we used in QLD back in the 90’s, it was really good and then it was gone.
@SammyHitzkeFishing possibly not as tight last vid ay Or you reckon it's the hook change Or just luck I mean I know it's fishing lol not catching I'm going to get some of these lure to try in bunno wa Caught plenty of big snapper but never on the troll
Hey mate, I set my drag tight enough drive the hooks in on the hit, also once the drag is spinning, gunning the boat forward doesn’t add any additional pressure to set hooks. The drag just spins faster. It only works if you see the lure get eaten the fish comes towards you and doesn’t load up the rod 👍
Sam what depth and what’s the maximum speed and what speed are you trolling for snapper and what is the depth at that speed. I have not trolled for snapper in my life . I’m going back to the Cook Islands for a few weeks and I would love to take 20 if I can troll 15 knots. I’m in Australia at the moment for my kids Education but going back home to see my Mother. I have fished and eaten fish 85% of my life breakfast lunch and dinner and I have 2 boats a 6.7 barcrusher and 4.6 Dory in Australia. From a Aitutaki Cook Islander and when I go back next year I will take a lot of that lure only if I can use it for high speed trolling and I will tell them what I’m using. I don’t want any discount for buying. Sorry to others who are struggling to read my message. From a Aitutaki Cook Islander
Hey mate the lures go down to 12m and I troll at idle speed only, so unfortunately they wouldn’t be suitable for your application. Try the new halco 210 👍👍
@@SammyHitzkeFishing Hmm... I thought the Viper-41 and Raptor-Z were both 4X meant to be sticky for hard plastics? I run Raptor-Z on my Halco 130s in the gulf for YFT, so far so good.
Thats nothing but a deep diving plug! They are a dime a dozen here in the US. They even use those for freshwater largemouth bass. Nothing special🤦♂️🤦♂️🤔
Thanks for taking us along Sammy!
Thanks for watching! 🙌
Great vid Sammy as always, I for one was pleased you got the net ready, it does my head in when you get a fish and the nets not ready 🤣🤣🤣
Great video Sammy and awesome fish . Thank you for the sounder pictures it helps a new bloke like me heaps. Much appreciated, always look forward to seeing your work. Cheers Pagey
No dramas at all mate! Glad it helps 👌

Appreciate the kind words mate! Glad you enjoyed it 🍻🍻
Love those new lures 😎 video
Yeah they’re epic!! 👌👌
Always love the videos Sammy and appreciated the content y'all provided that's for sure talking about yourself and Shauno
Thanks mate! Appreciate the support 🍻🍻

😂😂😂 always the way isn’t it!!
Gday mate!!! I love your videos and I also love Down Under =p ! Cheers from Brazil, keep the good stuff going!
Bad weekend fishing... but Sammy always save the weekends with a great video
🙌🙌🙌 thanks for tuning in mate!
Well done Sammy, that drop off, with a bombie looks great.
Cheers mate! Yeah nice little patch of ground that one!
Awesome video as always Sammy 🎉
Cheers Jeppo! 🙌🙌
Success Sammy!
Nice one mate.
Got there in the end 🍻🍻
Epic snapper! I love snapper more than anything. ❤️. What was the first fish you caught? Trevali?
Sam, any thought on how the lure presents at depth and hook position while the lure is swimming? May be an issue with hook-up rate?! What about using a dropper to get depth quickly which should reduce line length or is noise an issue for the snapper?
Sammy, trying to learn the art of fishing this way. What speed are you at to get the lure diving nice and deep ?
G’day Mate, I just cruise around at idle speed. The deep divers can’t go too fast unfortunately!
Love your vids dude! Great content all the time, and made me keen to swap from Daiwa to ATC just cause the drag sounds ripe! But also, 30lb is a good line class… 50 with fluorocarbon is even better 😅

@ can’t argue with the king there, cheers for the tip Sammy, def gonna hit up BCF for the goods
Looks very similar to those big Murray code lures I was using in the 90s lol
Another great vid!
Thanks mate 🙌
Haha, I guess it would be 80cm; your first fish! Not far off! Great catch Sammy!
Hahah pretty bloody close 👌🙌
Hey Sammy do u have any tips on how to find fishing spots. Other than busting pelagics, can’t find any structure to catch decent fish. Other than that great video mate looking forward to the next.
Best wet would be investigating in a good gps / finder and get floor sea maps and you will be able to locate rocks and reefs etc
Yeah mate I agree with the above. Get your electronics sorted and then you can find areas to fish while you’re driving around 👌👍
Another great episode! The electric reel looks like it's on some sort of kite or dredge rod, I'm dying to know what you've got going on with it.
Hahah I had a trolling camera down there trying to get some cool footage but unfortunately the water was too dirty ☹️
@SammyHitzkeFishing Awesome, here's looking forward to some clean water, cheers.
Love The vids mate inspiring and amazing thanks mate
Appreciate the kind words mate! Thanks for watching! 🙌🙌
Have you ever tried a wire lead where you're getting snipped a lot.
Don't know if it will work, but it might be worth a try.
I’m not getting bitten off, the fish are running into the reef, so wire wouldn’t fix the issue unfortunately! 🍻🍻
12:05 Thinking the video is over, oh wait there's more 😁
Great revenge video.
Persistence must be a numbers game!
Well done.
How much drag have you got on those trolling rods? I'm thinking that GoPro camera angle makes them look like they are bending all the way to the butt.
I winced every time, expecting a snap to come.
Just enough drag to set the hooks and try convince them not to run straight into the bottom 😂😂
The rods won’t snap, they are venoms 😉
Sammy have you tried the stretch saltwater series divers? Amazing.
I haven’t, are they made by Mann’s lures?
Just out of curiosity why don't you use inline J hooks instead of those trebles. In my experience I've had a lot less missed hookups and straightened hooks with them compared to those trebs. Thanks for the awesome vids as always from a fellow fisherman from South Africa

howsit, what speed are you going and what depth does the lure reach at that speed, you recon it gets all the way down to 12m going that slow?
Yer id be getting rid of that lure Sammy it drops to many fish. Hope i didn't jix myself saying that im going fishing tonight 😂
Hahah the problem is it hooks so many fish as well! Gotta get the bite first before you can miss them 😉😂
@SammyHitzkeFishing I was thinking Sammy. Maybe cause the lure dives so deep when the fish hit it there's a lot of slack line. I don't know. Though your driving forward. Maybe try different trebbles
Superb episode!
Where may I order and purchase such lure (international shipping)?
They are still in production but should be available soon 👌
Yo Sam ya gotta go up on that leader size my friend! Whatever you are using go up at least 10 lbs.! Maybe 15-20 lbs!😎
Haha I’m already using 20lb braid and 30lb leader! Any heavier and the lures won’t dive down as deep!
@@SammyHitzkeFishing try 40lb leader. It shouldnt effect anything depth wise. Use Seagars Gold ultra fluoro 40 lb!😎
FIRST XD. Sam you should do a raffle or something to take a fan out fishing!
Someone already asked that apparently in qld you need a special license to take someone fishing.😜

Well there you go! It’s coming back 💪💪
Maybe need a 1 metre wire trace😊
Need some bells on them rods...😜.....no no dont do it Sammy.....leave the net down...lol
😂😂😂 yeahhhh I don’t think the bells would work, probably still wouldn’t notice them! Last time I ever set the net up! 🤦♂️
Every time you pull the rod out the holder and reach over you release the pressure on the fish and they unhook (I think for the camera) and
Always fun to watch your trips bro ! , btw watch my monster spanish i cought 40kg monster!!! Video
Hey mate I notice you don't try set the hook when they hit ?
There’s no need to reset the hooks. I have my drag set to drive the hooks home when they eat the lure 👌
@SammyHitzkeFishing possibly not as tight last vid ay
Or you reckon it's the hook change
Or just luck
I mean I know it's fishing lol not catching
I'm going to get some of these lure to try in bunno wa
Caught plenty of big snapper but never on the troll
Can you estimate your trolling speeds with this 12 meter lure please?
So the description says the lure is a Toughfia Papuan Bass Diver. When you put that in google it only comes up with a bibless swimming jerk bait.
It’s probably a prototype
It’s only just gone into production mate! Should be available shortly 👌👌
Thanks mate
Were can u by from /please sam
Sam, please tell me which company and model of fishing line you use.
The line is Siglon advantage braid 👌
What depth do they dive to
12m mate 👍
Definitelt needs some beefier hooks on those lures
Will have to try some 5x or 6x hooks next time 👍
@SammyHitzkeFishing I wrote that before you said you switched the hooks out for 4x. Can't believe they still bent.
Were can we get them divers never head of them before?
They have only just gone into production, but will be available soon! 👌👌
Why don’t you use the boat to drive the hooks home before you pick the rod up ? Works good
Hey mate, I set my drag tight enough drive the hooks in on the hit, also once the drag is spinning, gunning the boat forward doesn’t add any additional pressure to set hooks. The drag just spins faster. It only works if you see the lure get eaten the fish comes towards you and doesn’t load up the rod 👍
Did you see the baby whale breaching in the background! So cute
Hahah I didn’t even notice that during the editing! You guys are sharp! 😂👌

Leave the net behind some time, you'll catch a monster!!
Hahah guaranteed to catch if no net or esky is on board!
Why not use BKK hooks?
Because they don’t do a 4x hook like the mustad ones 👍
@@SammyHitzkeFishing Hmm... I thought the Viper-41 and Raptor-Z were both 4X meant to be sticky for hard plastics? I run Raptor-Z on my Halco 130s in the gulf for YFT, so far so good.
Billie would have landed them. 😆 🤣 😂
Billie would have landed all of those and another 4 or 5 😂👌
Kerja bagus 👍
🙌🙌🙌
at 16 mt , why did you just closed your drag ????????????????????' you lost the fish and the lure,,,
That fish ran into the reef, I didn’t snap the line 👍
Thats nothing but a deep diving plug! They are a dime a dozen here in the US. They even use those for freshwater largemouth bass. Nothing special🤦♂️🤦♂️🤔
Dives to 12m
@ yea you can get them from 1 mtr to 40 mtrs.
But this is Australia 🤔
@ well I can ship em to ya!
No 'plug' gets down to 40 metres I think you mean feet @@jayjohnson9668
lol those lures,we've had them since afta 2022
🤔🤔 bet you haven’t! The prototypes came to AFTA 2024 and they have only just gone into production a few months ago. What lure do you think it is?
