I disagree with the other posters. Try to find another guy to saddle up with Quinn that leads him to a Norris. On the Right side. Get that under 7.25 this year -> perhaps, how about in 3 years after cap increases? Forget it. Great signing.
If you believe he's a top 50 defencemen in the league this is the right number

Compared to Nurse or Jones this SEEMS like a steal. It will ACTUALLY be a steal in 3 years when he’s in him prime. W for management, again

Out of all the UFAs I wanted signed this offseason.. Hronek was at the bottom of that list. He showed early chemistry with Hughes, but he fell off hard and was almost invisible in the playoffs. I sure hope he finds a way to be useful next season because the last thing we need is more expensive dead weight. Hughes made Hronek look good, so it's Hronek's job to make Hughes look even better than he already is.
its his first playoff. A lot of our guys went silent this post season give em one more year now that thier used to it and there all gonna bounce back
Well like it or not we do need a right handed d man who can play top pair minutes.
I'm sure with Foote and gonchar as coaches he will have a good chance to rebound. No way this signing wasn't approved by our all star coaching staff
Hronek cost Horvat and excelled in the role he was hired for. Not sure how that equates into letting him go. 🤔
Besides, his contact will be a bargain within a few years and an absolute steal once he's in his 30's. Best part is it's done when he's 34, can't really do much better than that. This Canuck management team continues to impress.
Going out on a limb here but now they need to sign Lindholm to a deal without a no trade clause and stick Petey on the wing next season. Trade him for an offensive winger if it doesn't work out.

I think people are a bit tunnel visioned when they describe this as a great signing. There are a lot of core guys looking for raises over the next 3 seasons and cap increases don't usually help as player agents just leverage it to get paid even more. Not to mention OEL's buyout penalty doubles after next season. (Zadorov, Joshua, Hoglander, Garland, Boeser, Demko, Hughes).
I think we over paid Petey and that's going to be a huge problem now and for years to come

By a lot? I’ll respectfully disagree, it may look like it with recency bias looking at his playoffs performance, and slip during the ladder half of the season.
But with the cap increase and inflation on defensemen specifically right handed top pairings, it’s going to look like a bargain in a few years.
But I could very well eat my words, hopefully not. Hopefully this is the consistency Hughes needs.

Definitely disagree. The list of right handed d men who can both play top pair and drive their own pair when needed, and can score damn near 50 points a season is pretty small. And especially considering where the market for d men is headed and the cap going up, this is probably gonna age well.
