Thanks a lot!
The things I do for Jackson Wang at 2am..
Same bts 😂
Hahah why korean tho... you should learn chinese 😀
Haha I should have right? Kdrama is an excellent enough reason now that I've started learning it.. it's a whole new level of entertainment
Team Wang ✌
Jackson is such a multilingual king, It'll take me years to learn all th3 languages he can speak 😂
Wow...I was feeling kind of down about my skills so far because I've been studying for a year and a half. But seeing that I already knew all of THESE verbs, I can't be doing that bad!
Same, my fellow orbit, same
but for me it has been like 3 years already lol
Azulia Tonn cool how much have you studied? Do you use Hello Talk?
Been studying for 3 years, feel the same
I've solely used TTMIK online course, finished the 1st level
never heard of Hello Talk though, what is that?
Azulia Tonn a chat app dedicated to language exchange. Made some good friends there who help me practice my Korean and answer my language questions :D
So nerve racking to speak in Korean to a native speaker at first but totally worth it as it helped me actually memorize a ton of basic small talk words
What I observed 👇
Present tense
Verb + "yo"
Past tense :
Verb + "sseo yo"
Future tense:
Verb + "geo ye yo"
*the verb is somehow altered when used in different tenses
when conjugating verbs, you keep the verb stem, which in korean is the verb minus 다
Yes!! I also noticed that the future tense "geo ye yo" sounded like they just say "geo yo", is this just normal native Korean pronunciation? Like does anyone know if the "ye" sound is just completely ignored?
@@janitapegram i think she just says it really fast but its part of it
Eu and l is also used in future tense
Actually it's a lot more detailed than that. I suggest watch Korean Unnie to learn the very basics then come back here and it'll make more sense
This is such a nice concept thank you so much. 😭 It was the perfect review for me! Can you please make another video like this but with more intermediate verbs? Things like to put, to open, to close, to take, to be angry, to fight, to hug, to care about, to dance, to joke, to hope, to avoid or ignore, to give up, to find, to lose [something], to fail, to win, to help, etc.? It would be very helpful for someone in book 3 & up.
고맙습니다! This video finally helped me understand past tense! Just add -ㅆ어요 to the verb! 배웠어요! 😊
Ok~
That's right
past tense is really easy but present is not. i dont know why the verb 마시다 conjugates to 마셔요
littledemon Ah I get it now. 이어 sounds kinda like 여 if you say it fast so it probably evolved to 여 from 이어
thanks for explanation it made my understanding of the korean language go up
You can also relate with the separate lecture of it 😁

I like that she's a Westerner makes me feel comfortable and motivated because I know I can do it too.
i thought she isnt
Yes ikr
@@emanuel9918 actually, she learned Korean with ttmik so i'm pretty sure this site has good potential to help someone with the language
I was thinking the same thing. If I could only turn this heavy Southern drawl down some I'd really be killing it.
@@BrownSugaBabe You can do it! I’m from Georgia, and I’m killing it! Don’t let anyone convince you that you can’t. It helps to say the words slowly until it becomes comfortable. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
please make a part 2!
The amount of free content given by this channel is amazing!
This post is VERY well set up. Been studying for a while. Love that I can practice the essentials and how you've maked the conjugations. Love the whole program. Thanks for putting out so much helpful content!
Loved this video. The conjugations were very helpful and easy to follow !!
I knew everything besides two adjectives, I'm proud of myself! I've been studying for a bit over a month only so I guess it's a big progress. I'm trying to learn as much as I can before starting my Korean Studies major this year and so far the efforts have paid off! Everyone, you too are doing great work~ let's keep studying hard!
update??💗💗💗

My goal for learning Korean start to change from wanting to know the language to wanting to learn from these amazing people at TTMIK. Your content is the best (it sounds a little bit bias but I love you guys so who cares haha). Keep on inspiring people to learn Korean, it sure a beautiful language and you people are amazing teacher. Much love from Vietnam
I appreciate having two speakers repeat each phrase so you get a better sense of the pronunciation.
This is so good for absolute begginers. I didn;t feel overwhelmed at all!
This is the best
I feel so good that i knpw most of em like 27/30 and i've been learning for 2-3 months only prouuddddd yaaaa

I'm eternally grateful to the TTMIK team💜
Im sorry, but why there are different pronunciation of ㅗ and ㅛ of the male and female speaker? The male speaker pronounce it as o/yo and the female speaker did u/yu.. Which one is correct? Im always confused about this, thanks.
If you are enunciating the words very carefully then what the female speaker does is correct. But when people say things fast (in normal conversations), they will slip into the pronunciation the male speaker uses. People don't really do this on purpose, it's just that it's really hard to pronounce things 100% when you speak quickly, so I guess the video gives you both the well-enunciated version and the average day to day pronunciation.
Actually, when the male speaker talks slowly, he enunciates everything like the female speaker. But only when he speaks fast does he slip into that alternative pronunciation.
the correct one is o/yo! It differs on how you pronouce!
I think it's sorta like when someone says in English 'Im going to the store' in a quick way it can sorta sound like 'Im *goin* to the store.' When I first learned English I was always trying so hard to get pronunciation right but after time I realized that people pronounce things differently than others and it's ok as long as it's not completely different. If this made any sense I'm still not very good at English lol
o = ㅗ ; yo = ㅛ and u = ㅜ ; yu = ㅠ
sorry about the really late reply but i tend to hear that the guy just says "yo" and the girl says "yo-u", kinda like a long vowel in Japanese
I’m really glad firstly because this helps me to practice pronunciation, secondly because there were only 2 verbs that i didn’t know and it’s been less than a year that I’m learning korean.
i was learning korean this quarantine for about 1week and i downloaded the app KORLINK and it was very HELPFUL i know already how to introduce and how to say PRESENT PAST FUTURE TENSEE THANKS TO TALK TO ME IN KOREANNNN!!!

This is the best video ive ever came across. 감사합니다 😊
This is very helpful. Thank you so much!!!
Korean is one of the only languages I've studied that conjugates adjectives like verbs instead of nouns. I think it makes it easier though because it's less endings to remember.

very very useful video
It seems to me that the 'yo' endings sound like.."yoh" by the male voice and "you" by the female voice.
Can someone please explain why I am hearing this difference in these last syllables?
Thanks in advance.
To most Koreans, these two sounds are within the range that can be considered as the same vowel, but it might sound different from each other to speakers of other languages :)
@@talktomeinkorean
I don't think it's quite that simple; her prounciation-range is clearly overlapping that of the averaged-population's ㅜ and ㅠ. Native Koreans are picking up _all_ the semantic and morphemic contextual clues continuously in real time.
In like manner, some anglophone hearing my street-language "Ing guhn get some coffee", would truculently insist that I had _said_
"I'm"
But that's not how my ideolect, and millions of others', works. There is no "M" there. period. The nasal 'm' is entirely assimilated in place to the the palatal 'g': "Ing", IPA [aiŋ] just to be completely clear.

I have a question. Is there an order for the videos to learn? like, in which order should I learn?
There's a curriculum on their website, with audio files. The videos are extra.
I am writing all the verbs in the group 4
Ex- Eat ( to eat, I eat, I ate, I will eat)
After writing such 4-5 verbs I had started writting the next one by myself because I am understanding the concept.

i gave up on studying korean since work has taken over. but i'm happy that i know almost all of these verbs and conjugations from living in korea for a year and a half! thank you for this.

From my learning experience it is best to explain how verb conjugation in present past and future works and use verbs in complex sentences, using time references, places etc. Without knowing the rules trying to just memorize won't help much
