How To Become a Content Creator - Complete Beginner's Guide

I’ve been making video content for 15 years through my video production company, but I started uploading to UA-cam and other online platforms consistently about five years.
After making over 1500 videos just on UA-cam, I want to share a five-step process if you want to become a content creator or use video content to market your business.
1 - Find an ideal target audience
The biggest reason most content creators don’t make a full-time living is that they don’t know who they are making a video for.
They simply make content hoping the platforms will help them out and find their audience.
But you can speed this entire process up if you have an ideal person in mind when creating content.
You also need to have an interest in the topic you are covering or it will be hard to keep going during the first year.
2 - Create content the platforms want
Once you know who your ideal audience is, you have to decide what platform you want to use to reach them. Then, make content in the right format for the right platform. For example, UA-cam prefers longer format content. If you take a small part of a UA-cam video and post it to short format platforms like Instagram and TikTok, it won’t do well. For those platforms, you have to make content that is easy to consume and much more fast-paced.
You’ll need to spend time on each platform to understand what they like and tailor your content accordingly.
3 - Start with search content
UA-cam should be at the center for all content creators. And creating content that people search for is a really easy way to get discovered when you are new.
4 - Have a content schedule
Becoming a content creator requires consistency. Most people create 10 videos and give up. But you need a monthly and yearly plan and you need to stick to that plan. It took me nearly a year to get 1000 subscribers on UA-cam and now I can get nearly 1000 subscribers every day.
5 - Understand monetization
There are several ways to monetize your content. UA-cam for example has a partner program, where they pay you 55% of the revenue they make from running ads on your videos.
TikTok and Instagram have a fund and they pay you for views.
But you have to go beyond that. You can learn about affiliate marketing, sponsorships, selling your own products and services, and several more monetization options.

The easiest way to make money on the web is to have your own website. After so many hits you attract wealthy business who pay considerably more than UA-cam for a banner. Thats not to say the venue isn't good but it should also be leveraged into offering your website and patreon account and to make them more palletable release a month in advance from youtube and tik tok on your website and give previews on your patreon.

I have two questions.
I want to make content for gaming, and card collecting. What's the way to make these pop up for people more? Step 3 was a bit confusing to understand. I use the #'s for my videos in their descriptions, and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Not sure if there's more I need to do, like come up with catchier titles for the videos, or more direct titles or such.
As for step 4, I could probably do a once a week upload, due to my health and such. Would this be helpful or even sustainable in say doing playthroughs of games? I'm not sure. Maybe I can piece out parts of a playthrough a part or two a week? I just don't know what's the best strategy.

Any partnership program is trash, im trying to learn how to set up a patreon. This video just tells you how to become a slave to partnership policies.
I talked about making your own digital project as well. But the main source of income for 99% of creators is based on adsense/sponsorship/affiliate. Making good money with memberships or Patreon takes incredible amount of time and effort compared to the other options.

I do make significant from shorts but from sponsored posts. It’s true ad revenue is 100 times less for shorts.

You would think that a how to video... would actually explain how to 🤔 how do you create a video and post it to you tube? Who does one contact to get started... you only focused on monetization of your videos without giving the basic information... when you search for " how to become a content creator on UA-cam" the video should be... you start by.... does you tube have an actual number to call, or an email? So far it's proving to be a name on a faceless entity
