I always keep forgetting this was all a ploy. These troopers put their lives on the lines to follow orders to shoot accurately ...INACCURATELY, just to pull off this deception.

Omn1Media How I always say. You know you’re a true fan when you get emotional when the camera goes to Darth Vader (with epic/emotional music) and you hear Anakin’s faded voice “I hate you!” and then hear Obi-Wan’s faded voice “You were my brother Anakin, I loved you!” 😭😢 Then to top it off, as Vader walks away you hear Obi- Wan’s faded voice yell “You were the chosen one!” Yup that had me in tears. They captured that perfectly.
I'm still torn on my reaction to this. Lucas' initial reasoning for the low key fight choreography (other than the obvious constraints like time, budget and technology available) was that these two were broken down warriors. Kenobi is older and in his 60's and Vader is half machine. Also, he based the sword play on Samurai style fighting which is just slow, very deliberate with the least amount of strokes used. Watch any old Samurai fight and that's how they square off. A lot like the way Ahsoka and Morgan Elsbeth squared off in "The Jedi" episode of The Mandalorian in Season 2. However, that initial reasoning is just tossed aside in the prequels as you have an even older Count Dooku doing summersault flips from high up and agile as ever and an almost 900 year old Yoda twirling around in the air, etc. The saber duel that Obi and Anakin have isn't ANYTHING resembling Samurai. I do like the addition of the cannisters flying and one catches Vader on fire. LOL! That is freaking cool!!!
7:49 the push looks so weird cause Vader was simply to strong. I love this moment after that push when he lift his head and looks like "it that all you have?" and Obi-Wan now finally realise it it's simply not enough. He just outdistance me now even though he take the darc side. How powerfull would he be as a jedi? I will never see it. It's over now
I know, there are so many little details in the choreography and the way the add in those voice overs in the fight that really bring out the history of these two!
I saw that, I was debating on making a video about some of the little Star Wars tidbit we've got this week but it seemed a little small but I'm looking forward to that. I wish we didn't have to wait two movies to see them but wasn't there originally 6 excluding Kylo because the two images they've released there were only 5...hmmmm Maybe the missing one is the one Kylo Reeems with his hilt in the trailer?! lol
Omn1Media I think it would be cool if they made a film about the Knights of Ren like how they came to be, all the battles they’ve fought and all around how powerful they are and who they are to begin with since we only saw the vision that I believe Rey had about them that was like 0.5 seconds.
*I really really wish this could be put into the original version* Or Adywan's Revisited version you mean? This HD version would go nicely with that one.
@@MGSBigBoss77 I was thinking the same thing. Adywan and FXitinPost would work so well together ... team up with Star Wars Theory just to top it off! XD
I wanted to but couldn’t at work. Some buddies and other reactors I follow had been hyping it up all day long! Intense and loved this thing though! It lived up to all that hype though!
the push looked different because Ben's push didn't have the same power. he was trying to get him off of him and get sometime. Vader's push was very powerful trying to kill Ben filled with hatred.
That part when Obi-wan pushes Vader and slid back is cause Obi-wan was weak and only had enough force to push him back and of course it's Vader he's powerful enough to control it. I think most of us when we first see this we all got hit with emotional when the voices came out along with the music
I'd say Obi-Wan was in his prime during the Clone Wars, but he still retained most of his abilities during his old age. He just couldn't hold up duels very well anymore. But Vader was so careful with him because he knew Obi-Wan, even in his old age, was still a tricky one. However - I do believe that if Vader went bulldozer mode, he would've wrecked Obi-Wan this time around.
It's possible! I'm sure he wasn't as adept physically at that age but his force attunement had to be greater than it ever had been! But I agree, I think no matter what he wouldn't be able to overcome Vader in a straight forward fight.
I loved that move (parry?) that Vader pulled at about 7:25? They swing down, Ben goes to upswing and Vader smacks his lightsaber back down into the deck no doubt hoping for an opening.
The choreography just so much in this! There are a lot of hidden call backs to things from their Mustafar fight as well that I just love! But that move there is so good!
Definitely, trying to bury Anakin and then a new reminder of who he was keeps appearing...First Obi-wan, then learning about Anakin's Son, Daughter, etc. Then being faced with the final choice with of life or death of his children. Vader is just awesome!
You're definitely right, it just looks like he misses on purpose. I think a hand motion or deflection from Obi would have been enough to make it look better. Just a nitpick and Rian needs to stay away from star wars lol
Dude!! You need to watch Darth Maul: Apprentice Fan Film. It was made back in 2016 and tells of before we meet Darth Maul in the original movies back when he was still in training( hence why it’s called apprentice) it may be 3 years old but it is one of the best Darth Maul fan films I have seen in a long time, and tells the story beautifully. Just thought I’d let you know just in case you ever read this.
Great reaction man. First off I just found your channel and the mic and camera quality is is amazing! I mean the amount of effort you put into your channel that’s not even at 1k subs yet. You earn my respect, AND sub. You’re for sure going to get the traction you deserve soon here. Also being the prequel trilogy fanboy I am, I think this fight was amazing and captured the feel from the Anakin vs Obi Wan fight in ROTS. But obviously with their new fighting styles from Obi Wans age, and Vader’s trouble with movement. (Also IMO I thought the ROTS fight was just the right amount of time, and sometimes I wish was LONGER haha. But most everyone’s got different opinions when it comes to the movies tho which is obviously cool.) But if it were up to me, I’d love to see the fights remastered like this in prequel trilogy choreography for all the Original Trilogy films. Could you imagine a Vader vs Luke fight on Bespin with the remastered effects?! Edit: Also you have a great voice which would probably fit a podcast. You should make one and just talk about Star Wars with people sending in random questions for you to answer. Just a thought👍🏻 Anyway man have a good one!
Thank you so much! This means a lot it truly does! I’m glad you enjoy the quality, I’m making the best I can out of what I got! I don’t have premium equipment but doing what I can! It’s been a slow climb but I really just love expressing my thoughts on the things I love so it’s all good! Also, agreed! I love all the prequel fights and i was more speaking to the general idea of the Anakin Obi fight! I love every second of it haha but I would love to see a reimagined Vader vs Luke fight! I really hope they consider telling some stories about original trilogy Luke and cast Sebastian Stan while he’s still young enough haha but I doubt they would do that now! I need to get back into gear with my podcast. It got a little lost in the mix when everyone involved got crammed down over the holidays. We didn’t have a specific topic, just talked about whatever media news caught our ears that week! And really thank you, my voice has kind of been always something I’ve been self-conscious about because of my accent though I try to cover it. I’ll be doing a podcast-like with The Reel Rejects if the plans all come together like we have talked about so that will be interesting and awesome! I really appreciate the kind words! It’s nice to know that some people are getting something out of it other than my own self fulfillment!
I've always had a theory that obiwan was a force projection even more so fueled by the last jedi. Although his clothes remains I stand by my theory lol
How you know he didn't throw his lightsaber at him and obi deflect it into the wall. SMH dumb smart people don't ruin it for yourself. This was awesome don't over think it just enjoy
I considered that, I think he was going for the decapitation rather than actually trying to hit him. It was just an off the cuff statement for fun I wasn't bothered by it. Don't worry! lmao
how do know that Darth Vader did not aim for the head? He may have thrown the lightsaber so powerfully that Obi-Wan just only able deflected it to the side because of the strength of Vader
Quite possible! Obi could have also redirected it with the force! I didn’t think he missed but was going for some flair with the decap! Very much up to interpretation, I think my comment in the moment was just a bad joke lmao
To really get rhe full impact You have to have seen it in 1977 When the phenomenon hit our culture Star Wars changed everything .. People see the new Films today And don't know about the Single most important element That isn't there any more The midevel theme Star Wars needs to be seen in the Theatre the original release This version of the Sword fight Has captured the element That fight wasnt as long but this version was so Awesome I wouldn't mind seeing the whole Film re imagined If its to be this accurate When people start messing around With a story that does not stay on track with the original ideas things get out of hand Hence the last films Which where so bad I gave away my collection of books and DVDs Not all of them Also check out a novel called Splinter of the Minds eye It tells of the khybur crystal The novel was written just after Star Wars was released In 77 Rogue 1 has elements of this novel But anyway This version of the battle is simply Awesome
Right there with you. The original fight was meant to echo two knights fighting with broadswords but the combat evolved to be more flashy over the age of the series! George’s ideas always seemed to evolve, change, and grow. I’ll always appreciate the OG fight. I was born in 88 so I missed the theatrical releases of the first trigoly and sadly I think the only versions I’ve seen are the special editions. Do you recall if the non special editions were in a silver VHS box set, if so I would have seen those first and then my dad bought the special editions for me when I got older! Haha
*I was born in 88 so I missed the theatrical releases of the first trilogy and sadly I think the only versions I’ve seen are the special editions.* So you're 31 this year correct. Congratulations then.
Why am I wasting time watching you reacting to a vid I already know I love? I'm not being mean to you personally...I could be finding all sorts of new stuff!
Don't know! I do the same thing! I like watching people react to things I love to see if they love it too mostly or what a fresh persons experience to something I'm familiar with is like since we can only have our first time with something once...so we can watch someone else have their first time with something close to us and it's a little closer to getting that feeling again...unless they hated it of course! haha Appreciate you taking the time to comment though!
How is Vader an old man? Anakin was young when Padame had his kids. Not more than 25 anyway. In the first SW Luke can't be more than 20ish which puts Vader in his forties. Still very much in his prime.
Sorry, might have been a little hyperbolic with that statement since he is 41 in this fight but he is far from his prime. No limbs, barely working lungs. :P But THE FORCE powers him.
@@Omn1Media I know right! I thought it was real at first but honestly, I'm kind of happy this isn't canon. I loved this from beginning to end. They made a masterpiece
@@BGOutOfService Agreed. Even though I loved the Anakin and Obi fight from Ep3, it was a little too long and way too over the top. Still awesome but this one had some real tension and weight to it!
Where at? I mean it's hard not to know what the video was when everyone was posting about it all day long and I'm one of the last to watch it. Plus they released a trailer for it a year prior :P
@@Omn1Media i suggest really watch it for the first time... I've watched so many reaction videos....so i can tell of it's genuine or not.... and don't watch other's reaction video if you are a youtuber....just sayin
Kid you don't get the nuances --- why didn't vader just aim for kenobi's head? The idea is they're both also always manipulating the force as such, so these questions you ask are a little juvenile. Also, at the end, when Kenobi sends Vader back with a force push, it looks fake because Vader doesn't go flying away like you'd expect -- but the point is that Vader is just too strong for Kenobi at this point in brute manipulation of raw force. Only Obi Wan's ability to become an apparition of the force supersedes this. Your commentary, though well-meaning, seems lo-fi for a star wars nerd. Carry on, anyways...
It was a joke, bad joke though! And I'm quite far from a kid at this point but my baby face has it's benefits I guess! But after watching my video back, it does come off unironic so I can see the way you and a few others took that comment :P It was done for Cool factor and you're explanation if very much what I think actually happens in that moment. Vader is just raw strength both physically and with the force. Giving into the Force itself was Obi-Wans only chance. As for the commentary, curious how you saw it as Lo-Fi. Star Wars fandom was so toxic around this time that I just didn't really want to contribute one way or the other just so we could celebrate the joy it has brought us all at one point or another. Even the personally, I could complain for days about certain recent things but I don't want to inject that into this video that these guys poured a lot of there time and passion into creating this love letter to a huge moment in Star Wars. But I do appreciate your comment and view. I'm not always the best at getting my thoughts out there in the way I think I am sometimes haha
@@Omn1Media I agree it was a passionate translation of what could have been; Disney, even Lucas, could take notes. The fans rule with this stuff, they really do.
They seem to be taking SOME steps to clear things up. They've brought in Lucas to consult on the next line of stuff and JJ has been getting his help with course correcting butttttt it could be too late! We will see!
That's true, but then again Lucas was the genius who created this amazing franchise, but also the guy who (This is something I don't agree with) ruined Star Wars and because of all the backlash the prequels got, it caused this man to sell his dream to Disney and now fans are so much more angry, and stupid saying that the prequels (which ruined star wars) are BETTER than the sequels and now they're bringing George back?! I hope they have him very little to do because I don't want prequel like stuff in Episode IX. Sorry for such a long comment on a video of you reacting to 2 old dudes wacking laser swords. 😁
@@BGOutOfService Lucas is an amazing story writer, but a terrible director and script writer. If you just tell the story of the prequels to someone, it sounds amazing. However the execution was pretty bad. Now Lucas is just giving advices to JJ Abrahams, so it can be beneficial for us.
I have to disagree with kenobies power. He stopped training his lightsaber form eversince exiled to Tatooine and the planet naturally has dark side energy which drained his force powers and affected his age. Although he did master form 3, it was only a matter of time when he would lose just because he’s been out of touch in combat.
In the canon, Tatoonie doesn't have a dark side alignment and though he wasn't actively training in saber combat, he was actively communing and expanding his connection with the force by training with Qui-Gon's spirit. He bested Maul in his old age but still Vader was on quite another level by this point.
"i grew up with the original trilogy" The special Editions from 2004 are not the original trilogy and you are FAR too young to have been even remotely aware vhs as a kid. at best you were born around 1990 and thus explaining the green power ranger in the background. so by the time you entered your teens it was 2002, which would exclude you completely from the time of Floppy disks and VHS. I don't doubt you have Seen the originals but i do doubt you actually GREW up with the originals. And you like the Prequels because you actually grew up with them. 1999 ep1.
I was born in 88 and yes the special editions are still the original trilogy aside from Han not shooting first they change nothing thematically or spiritually to the original cuts. The OT came out on VHS unaltered in 95 which both my dad and Hollywood video had for me to rent when I wasn’t visiting him. And the special editions came out on VHS in 97 which he bought me as a Christmas gift. But that wasn’t the first time that I had watched Star Wars by that point so I would have HAD to see the Original Trilogy as you put it because that is all that existed before 97. I also think you underestimate how long VHS was around. I had boxes and boxes of them both original VHS’s and ones I had made copies of when I rented them. Which you had to use two vhs players or a combo with two decks to do! My first computer had CDOS and am quite aware of floppy disks! I had something like a case of 30 of them full of maybe 5-10 pictures a piece along with some songs and sound bites. And by the time ep 1 came out I had probably already watched and rewatched the original trilogy more times than I can remember. I hated Jar Jar and young Anakin was weird terrible and was a goody good which didn’t make sense to me knowing that he would become Vader. Also, there are plenty of people above my age even that still do like the prequels but when episode 1 came out I still remember being quite disappointed with it. Anyway, there’s no need to gatekeep Star Wars or what Star Wars is to you. A fan is a fan. I don’t like everychoice that’s been made throughout the life of this series but it’s not my story to tell.
I will add too I think mostly everything added in the special editions did NOT need to be added, aside from the cleaner sound and restorations of the existing scenes...everything added in is so clearly out of place and disjointed.
Lastly, why do they keep changing Obi-wans Krayt dragon call. OG was the best one, SE was okay, and the blu ray version sounds like Obi-wan got surprise penetrated from behind.
your totally wrong bout obi force push what was weird about it, it just wasnt strong enough to put vader on his ass, these super fans are sooo nit picky no wonder star wars is all over the place geeks always bashing this or that.
Lol “bashing” how am I bashing anything when I only said an effect looked a little weird! Quite the exaggeration. I love this thing and these guys did an amazing job!
Roooh, c'est fake, on dirait qu'ils dansent gna gna gna... Ben quoi? C'est exactement comme ça qu'on parle des combats dans la prélogie, oubliant que c'est du cinéma^^
Little criticism: Obi Wan in Rebels was far from the height of his power. But he was at the height of his wisdom. He KNEW that he couldn't keep up with Maul anymore due to his age, so he tricked him, by recreating the fight with Qui-Gon 1 to 1, and then, when Maul would have killed him, countering in an effective way. But he was not physically stronger than Maul or than he used to be.
Right! :) I mean it more like his atunement with the force and skill even though he might be physically more frail he is still the one in control with his experience and understanding!

LOL! That is freaking cool!!!
if you notice when kenobi is about to see vader you can see grand admiral thrawn walking in the back ground in his white uniform
It's over now
Dude, love the shirt! Are you living in the Limelight? lol
Trying my best!
I recommend you watch Fix it in Post behind the scenes for this.
I'll have to check it out because I'm sure that's an awesome watch! I loved their work with this!
If you look carefully you can really tell that Vader is striking heavily just like when Anakin would get angry especially in the Clone Wars and ROTS
I know, there are so many little details in the choreography and the way the add in those voice overs in the fight that really bring out the history of these two!
Omn1Media apparently we are going to see the Knights of Ren properly for the first time in Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker. Thoughts?
Wow better action darth vader fought against Obi- ben than in 1977
I really really wish this could be put into the original version, great reaction
With all the crazy special editions they do...maybe one day haha!
*I really really wish this could be put into the original version*
Or Adywan's Revisited version you mean? This HD version would go nicely with that one.
@@MGSBigBoss77 I was thinking the same thing. Adywan and FXitinPost would work so well together ... team up with Star Wars Theory just to top it off! XD
+Michael Blower Cheers for the agreement playa!
You watched this before you reacted...shame shame
I wanted to but couldn’t at work. Some buddies and other reactors I follow had been hyping it up all day long! Intense and loved this thing though! It lived up to all that hype though!
This is how you know the fans can do better then a multi million dollar company
Hard agree!
I agree
the push looked different because Ben's push didn't have the same power. he was trying to get him off of him and get sometime. Vader's push was very powerful trying to kill Ben filled with hatred.
Quite true, I was just meaning that the effect itself looked different :P
@@Omn1Media yes ,your right. after watching it again i see what you meant.it looked cgi or "kinda fake".
That part when Obi-wan pushes Vader and slid back is cause Obi-wan was weak and only had enough force to push him back and of course it's Vader he's powerful enough to control it. I think most of us when we first see this we all got hit with emotional when the voices came out along with the music
Oh I agree with you! I just thought it looked a little rough with the cutting, but still 10000% better than I could ever do :P
Wow just wow 😲 😮
Dude its a fan film...gotta give it some liberties my man ;)
Always! It's solid though just needed some kind of commentary :P
How old was Vader when ha died? I think 46
45 I think!
STAR WARS CAN be so good
Yes it can, what are your thoughts on Mandalorian?
I loved that move (parry?) that Vader pulled at about 7:25? They swing down, Ben goes to upswing and Vader smacks his lightsaber back down into the deck no doubt hoping for an opening.
The choreography just so much in this! There are a lot of hidden call backs to things from their Mustafar fight as well that I just love! But that move there is so good!
Omn1Media makes a lot of sense. No doubt since then, Vader had a burning hatred for obiwan and how he hurt him so bad. Probably some ptsd as well.
Definitely, trying to bury Anakin and then a new reminder of who he was keeps appearing...First Obi-wan, then learning about Anakin's Son, Daughter, etc. Then being faced with the final choice with of life or death of his children. Vader is just awesome!
"He could have thrown the saber right at him."
There is a difference between reimagine and complete alter. Ask Rian Johnson
You're definitely right, it just looks like he misses on purpose. I think a hand motion or deflection from Obi would have been enough to make it look better. Just a nitpick and Rian needs to stay away from star wars lol
@@Omn1Media Obi Wan could have probably stopped it using the Force.
Lo mejor de star wars
Contratado ...esto es lo que necesitas está película
¡completamente de acuerdo!
There is no other way to explain this... it should have made the official cut.
Seconding this notion! These guys are extremely talented and this is how the fight will always be in my head now!
I got emotional too
I feel like I may have! That sounds a familiar! If you wanna drop a link to the one you are referring to, I'll check it out!
Omn1Media yeah it’s ua-cam.com/video/Djo_91jN3Pk/v-deo.html
I have seen that! It's been a LONG time though I think I just skipped through the dialogue and stuff and just watched the fights though lol
Omn1Media tbh same but then I went back through it and it doesn’t tell a lot but the storytelling is well made.
Omn1Media another fan film which seems cool ua-cam.com/video/owrmLeX20CY/v-deo.html
Just a thought👍🏻
Anyway man have a good one!
Also, love the username! Good reference!
I've always had a theory that obiwan was a force projection even more so fueled by the last jedi. Although his clothes remains I stand by my theory lol
We dont tall about the abortion of a movie The Last Jedi
He wasn't though. He was taught by his deceased master, Qui-Gon, how to become a Force Ghost.
He was actually there and he allowed himself to die.
The 6:11 of this was better than all of the Last Jedi movie
Agree!
FixItInPost recently put up the making of their Scene 38 so everyone comment on that as well now too o.k.

Sure man!
Don't worry! lmao
Great shirt, by the way.
Love the shirt
Thank you!!
Don’t say 3 strokes makes it sound like an erectile dysfunction thing 😂
I’m going to have to go back and see what I said lmao I don’t remember but that sounds funny at least!
how do know that Darth Vader did not aim for the head? He may have thrown the lightsaber so powerfully that Obi-Wan just only able deflected it to the side because of the strength of Vader
Quite possible! Obi could have also redirected it with the force! I didn’t think he missed but was going for some flair with the decap! Very much up to interpretation, I think my comment in the moment was just a bad joke lmao
To really get rhe full impact
You have to have seen it in 1977
When the phenomenon hit our culture Star Wars changed everything ..
People see the new Films today
And don't know about the
Single most important element
That isn't there any more
The midevel theme
Star Wars needs to be seen in the
Theatre the original release
This version of the Sword fight
Has captured the element
That fight wasnt as long but this version was so Awesome
I wouldn't mind seeing the whole
Film re imagined
If its to be this accurate
When people start messing around
With a story that does not stay on track with the original ideas things get out of hand
Hence the last films
Which where so bad
I gave away my collection of books and DVDs
Not all of them
Also check out a novel called Splinter of the Minds eye
It tells of the khybur crystal
The novel was written just after
Star Wars was released
In 77 Rogue 1 has elements of this novel
But anyway
This version of the battle is simply Awesome
Right there with you. The original fight was meant to echo two knights fighting with broadswords but the combat evolved to be more flashy over the age of the series! George’s ideas always seemed to evolve, change, and grow. I’ll always appreciate the OG fight. I was born in 88 so I missed the theatrical releases of the first trigoly and sadly I think the only versions I’ve seen are the special editions. Do you recall if the non special editions were in a silver VHS box set, if so I would have seen those first and then my dad bought the special editions for me when I got older! Haha

Why am I wasting time reading th.......nah! ;) Good answer actually mate. I do the same thing too. Have fun. x
Apparently you said it’s your first time watching yet say “I’ve seen other people react to it” ????

Too bad Disney doesn't get it. They are too busy promoting feminism. Just sad.
Disney.... Watch and learn... If that's possible?
Seriously? Move on man
They seem to be taking SOME steps to clear things up.
@@mogyir Huh, true
I have to disagree with kenobies power. He stopped training his lightsaber form eversince exiled to Tatooine and the planet naturally has dark side energy which drained his force powers and affected his age. Although he did master form 3, it was only a matter of time when he would lose just because he’s been out of touch in combat.
In the canon, Tatoonie doesn't have a dark side alignment and though he wasn't actively training in saber combat, he was actively communing and expanding his connection with the force by training with Qui-Gon's spirit. He bested Maul in his old age but still Vader was on quite another level by this point.
Beat maul in 3 moves...looks like he still had his ability to me
I love your voice. Please subscribe him he is amazing❣️❣️❣️
Thank you! That means a lot! Actually quite self-conscious about my voice/accent!
"i grew up with the original trilogy"
The special Editions from 2004 are not the original trilogy and you are FAR too young to have been even remotely aware vhs as a kid.
at best you were born around 1990 and thus explaining the green power ranger in the background. so by the time you entered your teens it was 2002, which would exclude you completely from the time of Floppy disks and VHS.
@@Omn1MediaAlright fair enough but close to end cycle of vhs.
