Always find comfort in your videos! Keep creating and do what you wanna do! We will be here to support you. Yes, we love your art, but we enjoy YOU for YOU as well! Do what brings you joy and we’ll be here to cheer you on!
I think the best videos are watching you do something you love. Trying to please the algorithm will not keep you happy, only frustrated. Do what you enjoy and we will enjoy it with you.
Don’t always focus on trying to please people! Speaking for myself, I am completely happy watching you do you. I love your authenticity. There is such a shift in the world away from reality, too many fake things, too many humanly impossible standards… think of the all the AI out there too. The part of art I enjoy the most is the glimpse of a human heart. There is something so honest and pure and true in that kind of artwork. Is there a way I can send you some of my handmade paints? I’d be honoured to do that. No need to show on your channel, not about reviews or anything. I don’t even sell my paints nor have a store or channel.
That was one of my goals with this channel... I wanted to show reality and sort of counter balance the whole thing I see on Instagram where people show only the good things of life... I feel like it can be really damaging for people to only see that. On the other hand, I struggle with not wanting to be a "Debbie Downer" (no offense to anyone named Debbie!). It's so sweet of you yo want to send me some paints you made! That would be lovely! If you go to the about section here in youtube there is a contact email. Send me a message and we will see what we can work out! I think that would be a lovely thing to recieve! Thank you for watching!
Hi I'm.your newes5 member on Patreon, all the way down under from Ballarat in Victoria, Australia. I too have chronic pain and mental health issues seemingly from ongoing health battles. One breath at a time is my mantra. Even swatching takes my.mind off my issues, but I force myself to do something. As my dear friend Kristy Rice says, You do you boo!. You and your family come first. Please don't feel bad about looking after yourself. True friends and supporters will be there in whatever way we can. I've watched you for about 8 months and never miss a video now, including running all your videos last week, after you lost your best video! Looking forward to going through past patreons, through September or until your ready to do that again. Good luck with your health issues, after spinal injuries for 14 years my kidneys are shutting down. Your videos transport me to your beautiful surroundings and your choice of music so relaxing and inspirational! ❤❤❤❤😊
I grel so bad I have to pause it for September but I don't know what else to do. I am so grateful for your support and understanding! I think I just need to catch and get a few videos filmed ahead so that I can breath... I am so sorry to hear about your health issues. It breaks my heart when good people have to go through things like that. I am so hoping that you will have some brighter days ahead of you! 🧡
I really like these types of videos. Cooking, nature walks, and art are very relaxing things to see. Yes, 2024 has been a very rough year. I lost my mother in February and it has been tough. I've just been trying to take it one day at a time. I guess that's all one can do.
Really hope that you feel better soon. As a subscriber, I very much enjoy all the videos that you make - but as an aside, enthusiasm is contagious. So if you're loving whatever you're doing, those watching are most likely to enjoy it as well. Long-winded way of saying, do the things that make you happy.
I totally understand your feelings towards lower moments in life and how the light never quite seems to shine again for a while. I suffer chronic illness to and have flares and set backs I learn to take the day and look for tomorrow for change. I now live slow, live within the seasons which helps. With my art I'm playing right now just as you are I haven't found a style but I'm enjoying the process. I think a combination off realism against a more loose background might work for me. I naturally lean towards realism but my composition lay out might give me my expression and a bit of myself in my work. Regards to you tube I would enjoy watching you create. After all it's why I watch, I love your style and skill with all mediums. It motivates me to create and be brave. I believe your a realist like me but looking for that little twist like me. Maybe we can find the balance t ogether. keep filming for you, the fans will follow.
I just finished a large canvas for my granddaughter. She is eleven and a curious artist. 👩🎨 I asked her to sketch out she wanted and she came up with a single tree demonstrating the four seasons. We were both excited. Very pleased with how it turned out ❤
This reminded me of the saying "Life is what happens to you while you are making other plans". Just take it 1 day at a time. Your painting of the purple cone flowers is just beautiful. Maybe a way to make $$$$ from your art would be to make prints of your paintings & cards & see if you could put them in local shops. I don't know but maybe you are to spread out in so many areas & focusing in one thing would help. I hope you have a better week ahead.
So true! Life had a way of doing that, doesn't it? I'd really like to put together some art courses for the various mediums I work in, like "painting realistic birds in watercolor" but I never have enough time between youtube, sponsered videos, and patreon. I think it's time to figure things out! Thank you for watching and commenting! I appreciate it!
2024 has been a bit tricky here, too!! 🫂 I hope things improve for you and you get the answers you need. Enjoy the beauty around you!! 🥰 Those black berries looked delicious!! 😋 The trees are beginning to turn so pretty!! 🍂 Inspiration all around!! 🤗 Enjoy and breathe in the peace that surrounds you!! 😍
I just purchased from Amazon The Great Zentangle Book. I got it to increase my mark making and it looks like a lot of fun. You hang in there and remember " This too shall pass"
I just got to say that this type of video are my absolute favorites. I like the other videos as well but there’s something very relaxing about watching someone just playing.
Hope you feel better soon. This video reminded me it's o.k. to play with your art supplies. I always get caught up with wanting finished pieces and I get to a point I don't know what to do so I just stop. I think if I start playing more in sketch books maybe I'll get over that! As an FYI - I think supporters on Patreon are usually referred to as Patrons. LOL :)
Yup, they are referred to as Patrons, and I remember about half the time!😂 I don't do a good job of playing myself. I'm trying to get better at that. Thank you for watching and commenting!
You said it as I was thinking. You’ve really had a heck of a hard year. I think it’s great to see you use all your art supplies. I think how fun it would be to materials within arms reach and as an inspiration-hits ,just grab and create. Whatever video you make. I always learn a little something g. Plus live where you live and enjoy the nature part. I could never live so rural. Keep on your oath and things will get better. ❤
Glad you are playing! Isn't that so rewarding? I've been doing some abstract/collage stuff that I would never show to anyone, but that is rewarding in itself. When I am free to do anything without judgement from anyone, I totally get into a groove and mindset that is unlike any other. Anyway, enough about me, I just want to let you know that I think you are doing fantastic. I know this has been a hell of a year for you. I know what that is like. One thing that became so clear to me when I had one of my "knock me flat on my arse" moments is that I only need to get through it. I don't have to be stoic. I don't have to take hardship with grace and dignity (like I ever do anything with grace and dignity..lol), I just have to get through it, no matter how it looks to anyone. I had to take life one day at a time, somethings on moment at a time, and even one breath at a time. I think you are doing admirably well in your "knocked flat on your arse" moment. You have set boundaries for yourself. You have worked to find ways to care for yourself. You haven't tried to hide the fact that you are struggling in life right now. That shows so much courage, especially because you did this all publicly. So you go girl! I am here for you.
Hi Amy. Enjoyed the video. I like your new mish-mash style and seeing the beautiful scenery and more of day to day life. Unfortunately every time we take what we love and try to make it into a business for income, a lot of the joy seems to get squashed. So what you need to do and what you can do. We'll still be here to watch. Take care of yourself and make things that give you joy a priority. Life shouldn't be so draining. Took me many years to finally figure that out. Have a great week!🙂
Love your videos Amy. Best of luck with your health results ❤ As a fellow chronically ill person with autoimmune issues, I fully understand the rolling waves of health issues. Another great video, Amy. I love how honest you are in your videos. Please take care of yourself, do what you need to do, we’ll be here for you! Btw, love the beginning of your videos where you show how beautiful it is in your area. Hang in there, have a great week!
Great video I love these so much. You need to do what’s comfortable for you and don’t over do. We picked a heap full of blackberries as well very yummy please take care.😊👩🏻🎨
It's clear from lots of the comments that nearly everyone likes the way you 'mix it up' on your channel, with a bit of something for everyone to enjoy. So, if you decide to include a higher proportion of the something(s) that you yourself enjoy, I'm sure you'll find that gets an enthusiastic reception. Nice to see the healthy-looking basil plant - here in Florida, herbs can be a bit touchy as they frequently burn out in summer; but by dint of careful attention I have been managing to keep a small selection of herbs (basil, parsley & chives) going quite well on the back screened porch. Fingers crossed you get an early, and positive, resolution to your latest health worries. Thanks for the video, take care and kind regards, Brian.
So close! It's been doing that thing where my subscribers are being deleted again though. So I might get 24 in a day, and then 20 are deleted at 10 pm at night all at once. It's happened every day for two weeks now. It's frustrating!
Sending you positive thoughts, Amy! This year has been challenging for me too, so I get it. It’s authentic creators like you who have helped me get through it. Keep on doing what you love and keep your chin up! 10,000! So close and you so deserve it! ❤️
I love to see your life and roadtrips along with your art. So much fun. I agree this has been a year! But the years before that have been also for me. Every year a new challenge. Keep your chin up and everything will be just fine. Praying for a healthy rest of the year. Thanks Amy for all you do.❤😊
Yep. I hear you. I think my family and I have been struggling since 2020... know you aren't alone! Thank you for the kind words and prayers! I rally appreciate it!
I’m 71 and yes you’ve had a really hard season. I’m praying this is just the littlest issue and you can have a great winter. I’m also in a struggling time for different reasons it’s hard to be positive everyday. 🙏🏻
I hope things smooth out for you, Eldrid! It seems like a lot of people I know are struggling right now. I hope there are brighter days ahead for you! Thank you for the prayers! I appreciate so much!
I did something similar in my big mixed media sketchbook and turned it into an undersea painting. It was fun. It was during the first week postoperative in late March. Very soothing.

@@winterwoodsstudio Lol, just had it out with my Dr on Tuesday. After telling her the boatload (I just moved my entire apartment, et al) and I'm purely exHAUSTED. She told me one thing which I took to heart, "Pace yourself 😐". Ha! A typical type A, first born of 2 1st born parents, pace what(?), huh? 😕 Lol-I took it to heart and am °TRYING° to listen. 😝 We got this. 💜😊👍💜
Try using a sponge roller with the stencils like a super small 2.5 inch. Do stencils first then cover with sheer background color. Just something I like to do. ❤❤
Hope nothing to serious health wise...i know the struggle of health issues. It really affects all aspects of our lives. Sending positive and healing vibes your way....be well and safe
Me too! Thank you so much for the kind thoughts and vibes! It means a lot. The hardest part is the waiting to find out if it's okay or not. It's been stressful!
On meant to add have you looked at Lydia broderick. She definitely is someone to aspire to for my own work at least a little if I can be brave enough haha
Re: convenience colors, oh I know all about that line of thought that you should always mix your own colors, even going so far as saying that any secondary color is a “convenience color.” Some people don’t want any green at all on their palette, for instance. There is also the idea that if you use anything but a very limited palette, you lose internal color harmony in the painting, which has some validity and “makes sense,” but which, for various reasons, I don’t think is entirely true. As far as color mixing, I really think that is more important for beginners, because color theory is a foundational skill and you should also know your materials. In many situations, even if you have a true convenience color (say, a nice natural earthy green as opposed to phthalo green) you may still modify the color. If you have a bright unnatural green, you’ll almost always modify it. So why start with a blue, and a yellow, and keep adding more to it? You’re still often mixing when you use the convenience color (and possibly actually mixing fewer pigments.) Some colors may be used unmodified - you might have the perfect sunlit green color. There’s nothing wrong with something which will help you paint more quickly (especially for plein air.) And if you are not a beginner, you will likely have the skill to assess whether your colors are harmonious.
Yes! Exactly! That was EXACTLY what I was taught! No green, orange or purple allowed! You had to know how to mix those or it was a BIG DEAL! I was taught that over twenty years ago and I JUST started breaking the rules this summer! I get the importance of learning how to mix, but also, sometimes it's just about having fun!
Hi Amy. Thanks for another great video! One type of video I enjoy is an asmr art video with no talking. Perhaps that type of video would allow you to just play with supples and focus on yourself, even while making a video? Anyways, just a suggestion as I was thinking this might give you a bit of a break.
Thanks for the idea! I like to watch that kind of video too! Especially like cleaning and cooking and daily life! I wasn't sure how well hat would be received in the art niche though. I might have tk try it!
@@winterwoodsstudiohi again. There are several asmr art type channels that I watch...a couple are junk journal ones and a couple are just traditional art ones. I think, along with what you already do, that this would go over well. If you show the process from sketch to finish then I would certainly find a "no talking" asmr video one I'd watch😀
I hear ya about 2024. I’m 72 and on March 24th of this year, I broke my femur. A tough road laid ahead, but five months later, I am walking unassisted. Throughout the journey to recover, I kept my thoughts as positive as possible knowing that I would recover and walk again. Everyone commented how positive my attitude was, and I know that is why I went through the hard stuff with love and joy. You are making great choices to get you through all your health issues, but if I could just give you a bit of advice. I am a firm believer in manifestation. If you believe you are having a tough time, you send to the universe that feeling, and that is what the universe will give you. Change your thoughts to be more positive, more gratitude in the moment; Then, the universe will manifest more strength and outcome to your life. The past is the past, the future is not to be worried about …only stay in the now moment. It truly, truly works. I promise.
Isn't it weird how you can hold onto arbitrary rules from when you were younger that don't really matter at all, like no one is going to be aghast if you break them?
I think you should only do what springs forth from you. If I had a UA-cam channel I would only do what I felt like doing. For instance I don’t like to talk. My video would have no talking. If I wanted to say something I would type it. All I would do is film what I was doing on any particular day. It’s ok, whatever amount that you painted. Just get out the camera real quick whenever you set down to paint and turn it on. Let your videos happen organically and stop forcing and expecting it to be a certain way. I think you put too much pressure on your self. Forget about money. Sometimes it seems like money ruins everything.
Oh I totally agree money ruins it... but I also need an income so I don't know... it's a hard place to be and I haven't quit got it figured out yet. I hope I can! Thanks for watching and commenting! I appreciate it!

Lol-I took it to heart and am °TRYING° to listen.
😝
We got this.
💜😊👍💜
Can't wait for the Arttober! I got some better quality oil pastels, and I hope I'm gonna grow to like them.
So excited to see this video. I always look forward to your art and chat❤
Thank you so much 😀
Try using a sponge roller with the stencils like a super small 2.5 inch. Do stencils first then cover with sheer background color. Just something I like to do. ❤❤
Great tip! Thanks for sharing! I will definitely try it!
@@winterwoodsstudio hope you will get result soon and they will be good . Stay positive my friend :)
The big problem with the Kuretake paints is that roughly half of them are fugitive 😩
I promise.
I'm so sorry to hear about your leg! I hope it continues to heal and improve! And thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Thank you, this is what I needed to hear today.
❤❤❤
Do you happen to have a link to the set of stencils you used?
Yes! Here you go! I should have included that in the video but I was tired! :) amzn.to/4e7XeT0
@winterwoodsstudio Oh, thank you! I'm sorry. Get all the rest you possibly can. Thinking of you!💜💜💜
Sorry Amy😂
